The Daily Grind ~8/27/11~

We are battened down. Have lots of water set aside. Lots of food in the house.

The problem is both DH and I are working this weekend. And we live below the C&D canal and they might close the bridges. SO, the girl I work with and I got one of the last hotel rooms available. I'll be staying north and close to work. DH is another story. He works midnights. He will be trying to see if he can cross the bridge to get in to work tonight. I'm kind of hoping that he isn't able to leave, because that will be the worst part of the storm here.

They expect we will have power outages too, but I'll check in the best I can to see how everyone is doing.

Stay safe everyone!

Stay safe Debbie!
Stay safe to all others in storm paths!
My parents live on the Eastern shore of MD and so they are evacuating this morning (under manditory evacuation orders).

Today:
work on swaps
keep an eye on the storm
bullitens
service

Rebecca

All of you in the path of the storm, please stay safe.

My day:
Laundry
Unpack scrap bag from yesterday's classes
refill scrap bag for crop at store today
Make grocery list for DH so he can do that shopping for me today
Spend some time with DH before heading to work
Work - most of which will be for the crop we've got going from 2-7 p.m. I'll work on class samples inbetween helping gals and other crop duties. After the crop and cleaning up of the classroom, I'll be on the sales floor to help with the closing duties. It's really aggravating how many people stay in the store casually shopping when we close the store. We make multiple announcements over the PA and even dim the lights after we close and they could care less. :headache:

DS is supposed to come by the house today to pick up some sheet music he needs for an audition coming up, but it'll probably be while I'm at work so I'll miss him. Maybe he'll stop by the store to say hi!

Have a great day everyone!

morning all

stay safe Debbie!
Rebecca glad your parents listened and left!

we have a few last minute things left to move or strap down (don't have room anywhere for my porch funiture)
need to drop FIL off at hospital (yes Nan I'm being nice but I want something in return)
get some extra cash and see if Alice wants me to fill her gas cans
Wait for Tom to get home from picking up a sap tank in williston to move camper out from under the tree.
load recycles into back of my truck

Tonight baracade goats and chickens into their spots
put up plastic on air vent on back side of barn
vac house
fill 5 gallon water coolers so I don't have to have the generator running all the time
await storm on sunday.

Will check in when I can but no smart phones here just a normal cell.
Stay safe everyone

They're expecting rain to start this afternoon here, winds will come overnight into tomorrow.

Need to run out for a few little things this morning. We have gallons of water and plenty of food. There were no D batteries in the state yesterday, so we'll have to make sure we have candles. Need to grab the cat carriers from the basement, and DH needs to set up the sump pump, just in case.

Everyone stay safe!

SOunds like everyone is getting well prepared...please stay safe everyone!

Just hanging out here today will start our scrapping thread in a bit!
sign up for pin swap
work on everyday swap
keep eye on storm
lots of prayers!

Good morning :)

Sounds like y'all are well prepared! Hope everyone stays safe & dry!

Just hanging out at the house & croppin' today :)

Good morning all!

Glad to hear all of us east coasters are prepared for storm. Have been to the store to buy essentials and batteries for radio. Have plenty of water. DH will fill propane tank for me shortly(hopefully). We have an electric stove so if we lose power DH will be outside heating things up for our suppers.

Still need to get my cricut cutting so that I can work on some pages in case we lose power. Scrapping by candlelight is interesting.

Am keeping the weather channel on so I can keep track of what is going on. Stay safe. Will check in tomorrow when I can.

Cassey

Christy ~ Good to have a reason to deal with FIL! I haven't spoke to SMIL (monster in law) in 5 months and have NO intentions on it after what she did to my kids last visit... I have absolutely nothing to say to her and won't!!! (I have something to say but it's not nice!)

Glad to hear all are doing well and getting things secure... The winds are looking might fierce and the driving rains... I just can't imagine why you would want to drive in it if it wasn't an emergency issue... I guess my safety and the safety of others is a bit more important to me..

I have been watchin' the weather channel non-stop...

Hope everyone stays safe!!!!!

Nan i want MIL's stuff pics of her family and family stuff so I have to play nice. course I nailed the coffin so to speak when I said that Alice was getting me the family pics to make copies of and for the girls (toms cousins). Nailed his mom's side when I told him Fran was asking cause she lost alot of pics in her house fire. Then I pushed it a bit more and told him Tom wants his train table and while we're willing to wait a bit it will NOT be more than 6 months.

clean up is almost done. Left to do is move the camper and few other small things.

can't blame you for not talking to her!

Woke early (sorry Nancy!)

Two of the girls are taking naps
DH walk dawg
