I'm praying we get thru the next few days.. supposed to have some wicked weather coming in... and DD is determined to drive..and learn to drive in nasty weather.. DH & I are determined to keep her safe...but still allow her to learn to handle the vehicle in nasty weather... oh, the drama of parenting a teen driver! LOL

It's Wednesday!!! I took today off!! My to do list:

Get up early (what? I took a vacation day, that should automatically call for a no alarm wake up day)
Put wood in the woodstove
Check the weather
Check if DD has a school delay
Throw in a load of dark clothes into the wash
Make bed
Write in DD's communication book
Feed kitty - he has gained a pound and a half in the past three weeks
Do a Dunky run
Stop at ATM for money
Meet MomE to go to NYC for the day.
Walk, walk, and walk a little more
Breakfast at a deli
Do a little shopping
Call DH and remind him of Kitty's vet appointment
Call my NY DIS friend and meet up at Radio City Music Hall for a quick visit
Go to the matinee show of the Rockettes Christmas Show
Sleep on the bus ride home

Get creative with Elf/Santa letter (THANKS NAN) going to try to tie it into Prep and Landing movie! -
OH - GO FIND ELVES!!! Went to Party City for boxes and tissue paper then JoAnns - No elves.
Gotta dig in and hide/move/make list of already purchased Xmas presents
dinner - pork roast and potatoes

UGH - tried to get MIL to watch Little One so I could go "elf hunting" - nope. She has to make fudge. dang it, dang it dang it

Ok, we have rain, winds are picking up....and by noon the white fluff is supposed to fall... hit or miss as to where it will land.... tonight is supposed to be awful..
DD is driving to school...however, I will determine whether or not she can drive home.. If not, the neighbor will take the little kids for me while I go get DD.. DH and I then will venture over and get her vehicle when he gets home.... I think she will be okay... it just depends on white out conditions if we have them... supposed to be horrible Thursday AM... I guess that is one way to expose DD to everything; she's had it all in 1 week of having her license...


How did those of you who saw Prep & Landing last night like it? We enjoyed it... would love to see it again...

Mammogram - done!!!! my appt was at 6:15 a.m. I was first and out of there by 6:30!!!! I didn't even realize they were open that early, but when I made the appt a few weeks ago, I didn't know what my work schedule would be so I asked for an early appt. so I wouldn't have to try to get time off. They gave me early alright!

Go to PO to mail Secret Sister package
Work
Dinner - beef & broccoli w/rice
Work on Christmas list

MM~ Sorry to hear about the 2 hour delay..but at least they are being safe... Our school system didn't on Monday..and one bus was almost an hour late for school.. ;(

Oh, don't get me wrong, I'd much rather have them delay the opening so they have time to get some salt and sand on the roads, but my boss will have an issue with it.

It's supposed to change to rain later, but they aren't all that accurate, so who knows what will happen?!

We have buckets of rain here! It's the low visibility kind it's coming down soooo hard. Pups went out for the morning routine, and there was no perimeter check this morning They were back at the door in a flash!

Nan- Isn't have a new teen driver fun? I was torn when there was weather, do I let him get the experience, or say nope

I need to update my list for today... Christmas cards need doing... must get on that too...

This is one of those "Calgon...take me away!" days - Lisa, wish I was heading to NYC with you. Sounds like a fun day!

Got up early (but not as early as you, DIT - glad the mammo went well!) to help DH with putting out trash and recycling - we had a LOT since the basement clean-out over the weekend.
Advent calendar activity today - "make a gingerbread house" - but not just any house - it is a gingerbread Disney castle kit! Z2H is simply delighted and she'll be the managing director of the building operation later today and will supervise the sibs. (Gotta love the Christmas Tree Shop!)

Mail pile(s) sort - haven't gotten to this for days now - a must for today!
Maybe deal with hanging up the pin board - might be too big for me to do on my own...? Clean up the tools and supplies I've got all over the place.

Also, Disney Castle might have to wait until Thursday night - I have a lot of work tonight to get done, since tomorrow is the last day of school.

I'll wait - I need to drive anchors into the wall studs to hold this sucker up (the finished board weighs 45 lbs!) and the anchors have to be level and higher than my head. (Also, finding the studs in these 100-year old houses can sometimes be a bit of a challenge.) So, this is a job for DH - as soon as he can get to it. I'll take photos when we're done...

the bus never showed up. have i mentioned that i HATE this weather???

my list is so long that i don't even know where to start. my head is killing me, i cant breathe, bubba was up ALL night. i can't stand the fact that he has asthma. i know that there are a lot worse things out there in the world that he could have, but really it's awful to see him struggle to breathe.
