Has anybody here read the book? Anybody here seen the movie yet?

If so, what do you think about it?

My mom read the book. I wanna see the movie. She said the Da Vinci Code is that Jesus didnt die for us(which he did) that he married Mary Madgolin(sp), and had children and traces of Jesus on still on earth. But that isnt true.

Movie:
very very very well done.
It keeps you on your toes.
You want to figure it out just as bad as the characters in the movie.
and the "apple" bit. that was just pure genuis.

(if you've not seen the movie yet, you'll understand the "apple" part once you do)

Well I believe that it is certainly plausable. If suddenly evidence came out that did everything but prove that Jesus and Mary Magdelene were married and had a child, I wouldn't have that hard a time believing it. Remember Jesus was born Jewish, and at least back then, it was frowned upon if a Jewish man wasn't married and had a child by the age 20.

You can also amazingly back up the story that Mary Magdelen fled to Egypt, had a child, then fled to south France, and then her daughter married into a French Royal family, and continued the blood line, and the whole Knights Templar, (which was a real group), thing.

I don't know if I agree with your mother and how she said that the Da Vinci Code is about Jesus not dieing for us. I would say it's more about the church trying to cover up what supposedly really happened, and that you should find Jesus from within, and not through the church. But I dunno. It's just my opinion.

I'll also chose to find Jesus from within. I hate the church.

I am on like page 20 of the book. :lmao: A I am seeing the movie too..I'm NOT reading the posts..spoilers *gulp*

The movie isn't really about jesus dying. its about the church and the church's wrongdoings (in covering up what really happened with jesus)

I read the book. SUCH a page turner. I really couldnt put it down. My mother had to practically force me to. lol.
Haven't seen the movie yet, but I am gonna... Me and my friends are planning a double feature for Sunday, seeing DaVinci Code and X3. haha. Cant wait to see the movie.

have any of you read the prequel, Angels and Demons? I actually like it better than DaVinci Code. Don't get me wrong, I love both, but Angels and Demons I think is a much better thriller. :)

there is a possibility that Jesus was married to Mary Magdelene, we just don't know. The bible doesn't tell us much about his personal life so we can't make assumptions.

it's a good fictional book. i don't believe it (the book) is the total truth tho

Same for me. I don't think any of it is true.

Dan Brown didn't invent the idea of Jesus being married to Mary Magdalene. Supposedly she flew to France after Jesus was crucified, but we just don't know that. You can't always start the argument of "but the bible says..." because we don't know any of the people that wrote the bible now do we?

I think that the book was written in fiction so people shouldn't get all offended about it and that people should be allowed to think what they want. If it is true, I'll betcha $100 that Jesus is up there laughing with Mary and they're saying "What a bunch of idiots...We ALMOST fooled 'em Mary" ;) :rotfl:

And btw, I am a pretty devout Christian...so I feel that it's ok to make jokes like that cuz it's in fun and I feel like I have a personal relationship with God...like a more respected friend...so it's ok to tease every once and a while...don't you?

really i think the book is better then the movie

if you haven't read the book but seen the movie then it's good but it misses alot out of the book (there was another cryptex before the first which they missed out, the 'supposed teacher' didn't die near the thames, they found out who the 'teacher' is at leigh teabings place where he hid webcams in with the grand master and senechaux (sp?), silus died in a park praying for the bishop not to die and some other things i forgot) so if you get the chance read the book if you've seen the movie or if you want to know the basic plot because the plot confused my friends who watched it :)

I know like three people who read it and they all say it was excellent. I'm seeing the movie. I don't really believe that Jesus married and had children, it wasn't what He was on Earth to do in my eyes. If He did, then He did, it doesn't diminish His message at all. But we don't know, that's why this is a fictional book, not fact.

AMEN TO THE BOLDED!

I don't understand why jesus could not have been a father and a savior. If you believe him to be your savior, then why is it such a bad thing for him to also be a father.

jmo.

I read the book, it was great. I saw the movie and it was almost as good as the book. I think it's a great plot and its a real page turner. But i dont think any of it is ture. I think Leanardo Da Vinci was a messed up creep, and he had no right to mock Jesus in his paintings, which its obvious that he does. But if Jesus did have a kid and gt married to Mary Magdalen, it wouldn't make a bit of a difference to me. Jesus died for me and thats enough for me. I just think people need to stop bashing it and leave it alone.

What I can't understand is that if all of us (very controversial) teens with (headstrong) opinions can agree to disagree and leave it alone...then why are all the adults making such a big deal out of it? Crazy fanatics... :confused3
