I always visit in may, and now we decided to go oct. just want to compare this 2 months. If oct. is going to be crowded because of halloween.

I'd Like To Know This Too, Anyone Know?

I think you will find October a little more crowded than May, but still manageable.

I have gone 5 times in October, 1 time in May. IMHO the crowds are the same, it is the heat in May that made the difference. Don't get me wrong, I have had horribly hot days in October, it just didn't seem as bad. I think October is a wonderful time to go. :sunny:

Wow. It is so interesting to see the reactions to the weather from different people. We were there this last Oct and this last April. I realize it isn't May, but I thought I would chime in anyway. We found October to be very hot and extreemly humid. We are totally unaccustomed to humidity due to being from the west, so this was kind of a big deal. It literally drained my kids. We honestly felt like we needed to be "wrung out' at the end of the day. April was amazing. No humidity, awsome weather.

I thought the crowds were about the same. We weren't walking on rides, but we could use fast pass and a bit of planning and get everything done we wanted to. No real craziness.

Have a great time!

I agree about the weather. When we went in early October it was VERY humid! When we went in early May is was hot, but with very little humidity, which was much more comfortable. Early May is my new favorite time to go, mainly for this reason!

I thought early October was a little slower than when I went in early May, not by alot though. I don't know what it's like later in October once the Halloween party nights start.

Let me warn you that if you dont like humidity, dont ever go in August. We went last August and we are used to humidity. (It gets terribly humid in Nebraska during much of the year). The humidity we dealt with there was like nothing I have ever experienced before. Walking outside, was like walking into a wall of this thick, unbreathable air. It was nuts. We were drenched within a few hours. I looked at weather channel a few times when we were down there, and it was something like 94 or 95 degrees with 95% humidity. UGG!

By the way, I agree with you totally, April is beautiful in WDW.

I am glad this question came up about October, I was wondering the same thing myself, as we are going mid Oct.

I think crowd wise they are about the same- however October may be a little lighter. October is usually cooler, but expect a little rain. May can be blazing. In 2003 it stayed mid-ninetees with humidity the whole week. In 2004 we went late April/early May and the crowds were light. May is our favorite month, but this year we are visiting in June (leaving tomorrow morning in the heat) and we will return in October for MNSSHP.

We have been in both May and October. It has gotten progressively busier during October, particularly last year, but I think a lot of people had rescheduled their vacations because of the hurricanes. Anyway, I would say that during our October trips (usually the week after Columbus day) we found the parks to be less crowded than our most recent trip in May (17 - 24) I felt the parks filled up a lot quicker. I was amazed at how busy AK was, I have never seen it that busy. Again you have to take into consideration mitigating factors, like EMH's which do make the parks busier, we probably should have avoided AK on the Saturday we went, same goes for MK on a Monday (no EMH, but really crowded by midday) very busy. I saw that someone said it was busier in October than in May....guess it depends on the dates. What I consider crowded is probably a whole different thing if you are used to going in July!
