A Tim Burton pap'r, eh? Sounds fun! I be a fair procrastinat'r meself, says I, and so can relate te yer probl'm, depply. Best o' luck - you'll get it done in time, not te worry.
Spent yest'rday at the San Diego Maritime Museum with me dad. Had te head down that way te drop our racecar off with the fella what fixes it and I talk'd dad inte goin' te the museum with me. They've a fair lot o' ships o' all sorts thar. Had meself a fine time. They have the HMS Surprise from "Master & Commander", which be havin' a fair bit o' displays below deck about the movie and what life were like aboard a royal navy ship o' the time. Quite fun and interestin', says I. Ah, and much larger than me dear Lady Washington. They've also got the Star of India, which be a steel-hulled tall ship (with more sails than I know names fer), which had displays below decks, too. A bit o' fun in the lowest hold o' that one - they had a mock-up o' a yard and mast, what ye could get up onto (only a couple feet off the floor) and stand upon the horses (what be them little ropes what hang below the yard fer standin' on) and lean o'er the yard arm while ye tried bundlin' up a small bit o' sail canvas. Were a good look at what it might feel like up thar on the yards (tho without all the swayin' and such o' the sea) and how hard it'd be te balance yerself while workin'. Worth the price o' admission, it were.
Had a fine time tellin' me dad all the names fer bits and pieces o' the ships. Impress'd him, I did. Got me a look at their ship fer day sails, the Californian. Not so pretty as the Lady, but may do in a pinch fer some sailin' fun. Must look into headin' down thar fer a day sail soon. Oh and they had a fine bit o' shoppin' thar, too. Bot me a couple o' books about Anne Bonney and Mary Read, as well as a museum T-shirt. Saw a nice tall-ship necklace I'll have te get meself next time.
Rode the old wooden roll'rcoast'r at Belmont Park b'fore leavin' town, too. Then had us some ice cream. What more could a pirate want from the day - tall ships, roll'rcoast'rs and ice cream...
