The Coveted $200 Disney Visa offer

We are considering getting this deal. How did you qualify for the 6 mos. free interest? My DH loves those free interest offers.

Using the Disney Visa to book a resort & ticket package qualifies for 6 mos interest free financing. There are other perks listed on the website and in the fliers but thi one is most important to me now :)

We always buy non-expiring tickets and book room only discounts so I'm not sure that would qualify.
Really would like the $200 to go towards a new non-expiring ticket for me next trip though.
Thanks alot for the info.:)

I got this card last year with the $200 reward GC. We charged on it up until we left for Disney and got our GC at guest services. Read on the website it will tell you where you can pick up your GC. Very easy.

sure wish they would run their 3xs points...we earned a lot when they did that last year....anyone get a postcard with that yet????

I got the $200 gift card off RIGHT after I signed up for a card (literally a week). I ended up with the free $50 card (every little bit helps). I booked in mid July and used that card to pay the deposit and had the card about 2 1/2 weeks later in the mail. I didn't even make a payment on the card yet!

Does anyone know if they are offering any incentive to upgrade from a standard to a premium card?

Can someone explain this deal to me? I've had my disney visa for a few months now and just put $800 on it (almost paid off by now) but do I qualify for a gift card or something??

Recetly when my DH applied and got approved for ther Premier Disney Visa the offer was a $100 GC after we spend $500 in the first 3 months.

I believe for the regular Disney Visa it was offering a $50.00 statement credit.

We were approved on July 27th and we received the $100 GC this week - August 14th so it was quick as we had the 500 spend within a day as we rebooked our Disneyland Hotel stay with it :cheer2:

Hope this helps :)

Our beautiful visa premiere card arrived today and we just charged 4 tickets online with UT. So that $500 took about two seconds to spend! I'll wait for it to show up online and apply for the gift card. I love free money!

You are on the same time schedule as me! Applied & was approved a week ago Friday. Card arrived this part Thursday & I immediately called my TA with the number. She called Disney and had them credit my AmEx & charge the final balance to the Visa so I'd meet the $500 & qualify for 6 mos interest free. Now the wait is on for my GC to arrive. We leave 9/18...one day short of 6 weeks. I hope it's here...$200 in free money is always a plus!

Just a follow up to this... My $200 GC arrived TODAY!

8/2 - applied/approved over the phone
8/8 - received card & had vacay balance applied
8/19 - received gift card!

Not bad :)

Received our cards yesterday, August 9. The race is on to charge $500 and get our $200 gift card back before November 1! My husband is worried that we can spend the money in time. Oh he of little faith! :lmao:

Received our $200 gift card today! We met our $500 requirement last week sometime, so I would say we received it less than 10 days after meeting it. We didn't receive any notification that we had met the requirement (of course, they want you to keep on spending), just got the gift card in the mail. With this and free dining, we'll eat almost for free on our WDW trip! :cool1:

I got one of these offers in the mail yesterday. I booked my trip through AAA so, I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to pay off my trip with the card and get the 0% financing, correct?

We have been thinking about getting a new card, this might be worth it for the $200 gift card.

I don't know for sure, but I would guess that you are correct, and to get the 0% financing on a Disney trip, you would have to book through Disney directly. But we had no problem using the card on our regular, every day purchases and reaching the $500 requirement for the $200 gift card in time, so it's basically free Disney money for us. Definitely worth it!

You will get the 0% financing even when booking with a travel Agent. Of course, this is provided you booked a package. Room-only and tickets separate do not qualify.

You also only need to pay $200 in order to qualify for the promotion. For Disney travel, you actually pay Disney directly - not AAA - the agent simply takes the information and punches the numbers via the online system or simply calls their Disney hot line.

A few more things... Certain Target and WalMart stores qualify as grocery and hence give out 2% rewards. This includes gift cards as they cannot determine the purchase type (this is what Chase told me - so YMMV). I purchased Disney Gift Cards when Target had their coupons the last two Decembers, making them effectively 20% off, plus I got 2% back in rewards. Or I would purchase WalMart Gift cards and then get Disney Gift Cards at Sams club at 7% discount.

Disney cruises also get you a $50 on board credit, but in this case, you must pay the whole thing with either your Disney Visa, Disney rewards, or Disney Gift Cards.

Remember that Premier has a $70 annual fee. In my case, we blew out all of our rewards points during our cruise last Feb. And since, I've already accumulated about $450. The 2% does help a lot, if you use the card frequently (that's the only card we use, except at Sams Club where they won't take Visa - but recently I realized that I can buy a WalMart gift card using my Disney Visa, and then pay with it at Sams)

Thanks! I will probably get the card for the 0% then! Also, I don't think this offer was for a premiere card as it said there was no annual fee. The offer for the gift card said spend $500 in the first three months and receive a $200 Disney gift card.

It probably wouldn't be worth it for me if there was an annual fee.

We got the offer recently and I finally applied online today and was approved instantly. Offer was for $200 gift card with the Visa platinum card, which has no annual fee. I'm sure it will take me about a day to spend $500 to get my gift card :rotfl2:, so I'm hoping it will arrive before my upcoming 9/29 trip to POFQ. If not, I'll save it to use with the bounceback I plan to book for next August :thumbsup2

Oh we'll! I got my car when it was only the $100 statement credit -- still it's a nice way to get back 2 years of annual fees :)

What does the Disney Visa give you in points per dollar spent?

What does the Disney Visa give you in points per dollar spent?

Sadly, it is only 1%. $100 = 1 Disney Reward Dollar

Edited to clarify: That is for the regular Disney Rewards Visa. I don't know if the ratio is different for the Premier card.

So annoying as I have had the regular Disney Visa card since it first came out years ago. I remember they only offered a $25 incentive at that time and then a few years ago there was an offer if you had a friend apply for a card which I did and then never received anything!

I would def be interested in upgrading to the Premier card but I was told there is no promotion available to do this so I will just keep regular card that I have until they do offer something.

Does anybody know of a promotion to upgrade your regular Disney Visa card?
