I got one of these offers in the mail yesterday. I booked my trip through AAA so, I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to pay off my trip with the card and get the 0% financing, correct?
We have been thinking about getting a new card, this might be worth it for the $200 gift card.
You will get the 0% financing even when booking with a
travel Agent. Of course, this is provided you booked a package. Room-only and tickets separate do not qualify.
You also only need to pay $200 in order to qualify for the promotion. For Disney travel, you actually pay Disney directly - not AAA - the agent simply takes the information and punches the numbers via the online system or simply calls their Disney hot line.
A few more things... Certain Target and
WalMart stores qualify as grocery and hence give out 2% rewards. This includes gift cards as they cannot determine the purchase type (this is what Chase told me - so YMMV). I purchased Disney Gift Cards when Target had their coupons the last two Decembers, making them effectively 20% off, plus I got 2% back in rewards. Or I would purchase WalMart Gift cards and then get Disney Gift Cards at
Sams club at 7% discount.
Disney cruises also get you a $50 on board credit, but in this case, you must pay the whole thing with either your Disney Visa, Disney rewards, or Disney Gift Cards.
Remember that Premier has a $70 annual fee. In my case, we blew out all of our rewards points during our cruise last Feb. And since, I've already accumulated about $450. The 2% does help a lot, if you use the card frequently (that's the only card we use, except at Sams Club where they won't take Visa - but recently I realized that I can buy a WalMart gift card using my Disney Visa, and then pay with it at Sams)
