My wife has always been interested in taking a Cruise, but so far it's not really been possible. However, I thought I would go ahead and start looking into the possibility for a future time (perhaps in a year or so).
So, I was wondering if anybody could give me a very rough idea (I know there are tons of factors to consider) of about how much a Disney Cruise costs. I don't need an exact price, just a rough idea for lets say a 4 or 5 night cruise. I am extremely flexible so any time period, and almost any destination would be a possibility.
I guess what I'm really looking for is a lower end price range (including my wife and me and 2 teen kids). I don't even know where to begin thinking price wise (2 thousand? 4 thousand?)

Also, how much more expensive is a Disney Cruise normally compared to another Cruise liner?

I did try and look up some prices, but I can't seem to find a good place that just lists prices (without having to submit a quote, which at this point I'd rather not do, I just want a quick rough idea of what I might be looking at).

Sorry I can't be more specific, but really any info (even just a starting point of what to consider) would be greatly helpful, because I honestly have no idea.

Your best bet to get the lowest price is to book EARLY.....and when I say early I mean a year out if possible.

Go to the Disney Cruise line website and just put all your info in like you're doing a booking. You can view the sail dates and prices.

We just got off the Disney Dream.......had 2 inside cabins.......booked well over a year out and paid approx $3100 total (not including tips).

Hope this helps!!!

On your room type, length of stay, departure and ports of call. I'd recommend you check out the Disney Cruise Line website. You can price and reprice to your heart's content. ;)

I say Disney is worth every penny!

First, know that the 2012 itineraries that run thru summer 2012 have been out for awhile so some of the prices have already gone up. You can play around all you want on the disneycruiseline website for prices without actually having to get a quote or book anything. Obviously, the shorter the cruise the lower the price. The more exotic the destination the higher the price. The earlier you book the lower the price. Sometimes they offer special deals like Kids Sail Free but sometimes you must be a US resident to take advantage. You really just need to play around on the website....

Here's a sample of a few Bahama cruises on the Dream for August 2012. I will copy in the cheapest prices from the cheapest avail. category that fits your family for inside, oceanview and verandah. This first cruise is 4 nights. For example in the first cruise below the prices on the inside rooms have risen so much already that the lowest avail. oceanview room is only $96 more for your whole family. For that $96 you would gain a larger SF cabin with a split bath AND a real view with a porthole.:thumbsup2 Likewise, the cheapest balcony cabin is only $344 more than than the cheapest inside cabin. It is ALWAYS worth comparing as many scenarios as you can.

Wow, thanks so much for posting this, and everyone else as well.

As much as I love all things Disney, I think in this case I might be better off looking at a less expensive Cruise. I did find some prices for a Carnival Cruise. I found a 5 night Bahamas Cruise for March 2013 for about 380 a person (cheapest room) to around 500 a person for better rooms.
I'm definitely not ruling our a Disney Cruise if they offer some kind of promotion. I wouldn't mind paying a bit more for Disney, but it looks like the price difference might be just too much to justify it. I'll definitely keep my eyes open to see who is offering the best deals. (Disney, Carnival, Princess or Royal Caribbean).
Again, I appreciate the help. This morning I had no idea what a cruise might cost, and now I have a much better understanding of what price range I'm looking at. :thumbsup2

Since you are in Mexico City, you may want to consider the Magic sailing out of Galveston, TX beginning Sept 22, 2012. They are 7 night cruises and there are 12 of them scheduled right now. Put your information in on the Disney site and see if you come up with something you like!
