ok, whenever I see the smiley it honestly reminds me of going to Detroit metro as a little girl to pick up my aunt when she was in town. She was a stewardess and I was totally in awe! *hey, I was five and this was like 1970-71 ... sooooo sing it with me.. hare krinshna... hare krishna... hare .. you get the idea. (or is it hari? I have no idea?!) My mom always steered me way away from the flower people.

...However, the best part was the preview we saw for An American Carol. I don't know if you've all heard of it - but you must go see it! The film is written/directed by David Zucker, who you might remember from the "Airplane" and "Naked Gun" movies. Believe it or not the film shows a conservative viewpoint and stars Kelsey Grammer, Jon Voight, James Woods, Leslie Nielsen and Dennis Hopper.

My Aunt is coming over and spending the night so DH and I can go out and see the movie. I can't wait. I love Airplane and that style of humor so I'm sure it will be great!!!!!

BTW, this weeks Entertainment Weekly features a list of 10 good political movies to watch.

The one that struck me the most was The Contender from 2000 starring Joan Allen and Jeff Bridges. Interestingly, it details what happens when a sitting President (Bridges) needs to nominate a new Vice-President after the sudden death of the current VP and he selects a woman (Joan Allen).

What ensues are Republicans trying to create a scandal regarding an alleged sexual exploit from her distant past. Other nefarious types (all depicted as Republicans) do what they can to smear her during the confirmation process.

I find it interesting that Hollywood continuously depicts Republicans as the type who would do this when, in reality, it's the Democrats who are doing that very thing.

If you haven't ever seen the movie, you should check it out. It is very timely considering all the cr*p that Palin is having to put up with.

Sorry first the ring in the shift and now ....well thank goodness I have had my eyes opened to my venomous ways. WHAT if I went though the rest of my life being snarky and sarcastic? What if I retained an odd sense of humor and laughed when a woman fell on the ice and got soaked in a puddle on Newbury St(Rodeo Dr of Boston) in the middle of winter?

Thank goodness for reincarntion be it in this life or the next.
