Hey everyone! Okay - I'm all caught up again. You guys have been moving fast

!! Well...yesterday I was at the Pentagon all day. Our organization won an award for outstanding service towards wounded military and their families!!

While we were there - I got to meet some VERY amazing people and hear some VERY amazing stories. We also got a briefing on the WOT and how our troops are totally kicking butt right now!
We had a luncheon after the award ceremony and let me tell you - the buzz from military towards McCain AND Palin is very positive and exciting!!
I also wanted to add - while we were eating, I was talking to the President and asked her if we dealt with Sarah Palin's office before regarding a wounded soldier (I could have sworn about a little over a year ago that I was talking with her and her office - but we DO talk to a lot of Governors/Congressman - so I didn't know if I was 100% or not). ANyway...it turns out we did. One of our soldiers from Alaska was severely injured and was in Lunsthul Germany and was not being treated correctly and his paperwork was a mess. Sarah Palin FLEW to Germany herself to help this soldier! She took care of the entire situation and made sure he was 100% taken care of the right way. In fact...to be honest - her and her office was a bit gruff while speaking to us (OFR) until they found out we weren't a goverment office and that we too were doing all we could for this boy. But I loved the fact that she was kicking butt and taking names over this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So to make a loooong story short, I actually talked with Sarah Palin and didn't even remember till now! LOL! I do know that I was extremely impressed on her reaction time, the fact that she went to Germany, and how she made sure everything was taken care of for this soldier!
Now back to the Pentagon...while I was there - I met the knew General of Ground Command - here is his picture while giving a briefing:
(this is actually my son - who IS a General in the making

)
We also met General James Cartwright - the nations second highest ranking military officer. He is a brilliant man who was very approachable and very very nice to my boy
(me and the General)
We also met Brigadiere General Regner - he took over ground command of Fallujah in 04/05. Another amazing man!
I took a good friend of mine who is one of our soldiers that we have helped as a guest. He was injured in Fallujah and is a Purple Heart Recipient. He had a great time and was coined by General Cartwright!!!! That made his day!!!
Well...hope you don't mind sharing the day and some stories and pics with you guys!
