Hey everyone! Okay - I'm all caught up again. You guys have been moving fast :rotfl: !! Well...yesterday I was at the Pentagon all day. Our organization won an award for outstanding service towards wounded military and their families!!:cool1: :cool1: While we were there - I got to meet some VERY amazing people and hear some VERY amazing stories. We also got a briefing on the WOT and how our troops are totally kicking butt right now!

We had a luncheon after the award ceremony and let me tell you - the buzz from military towards McCain AND Palin is very positive and exciting!!:thumbsup2

I also wanted to add - while we were eating, I was talking to the President and asked her if we dealt with Sarah Palin's office before regarding a wounded soldier (I could have sworn about a little over a year ago that I was talking with her and her office - but we DO talk to a lot of Governors/Congressman - so I didn't know if I was 100% or not). ANyway...it turns out we did. One of our soldiers from Alaska was severely injured and was in Lunsthul Germany and was not being treated correctly and his paperwork was a mess. Sarah Palin FLEW to Germany herself to help this soldier! She took care of the entire situation and made sure he was 100% taken care of the right way. In fact...to be honest - her and her office was a bit gruff while speaking to us (OFR) until they found out we weren't a goverment office and that we too were doing all we could for this boy. But I loved the fact that she was kicking butt and taking names over this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So to make a loooong story short, I actually talked with Sarah Palin and didn't even remember till now! LOL! I do know that I was extremely impressed on her reaction time, the fact that she went to Germany, and how she made sure everything was taken care of for this soldier!

Now back to the Pentagon...while I was there - I met the knew General of Ground Command - here is his picture while giving a briefing:

(this is actually my son - who IS a General in the making :) )

We also met General James Cartwright - the nations second highest ranking military officer. He is a brilliant man who was very approachable and very very nice to my boy :)

(me and the General)

We also met Brigadiere General Regner - he took over ground command of Fallujah in 04/05. Another amazing man!

I took a good friend of mine who is one of our soldiers that we have helped as a guest. He was injured in Fallujah and is a Purple Heart Recipient. He had a great time and was coined by General Cartwright!!!! That made his day!!! :goodvibes

::yes:: I  the pics and the story about Palin - it deserves its own thread!

ITA with everything Teresa said.

Hey all checking in!

You all had quite the partay last night!

Wardfamily...those are some awesome pics. As a lifelong Catholic I am laughing hysterically at the Sisters for Palin!:lmao: I need to show that to our Priest this Sunday, he'll get a kick out of it I am sure.

Anyone know where you can go to look up where McCain will be so that we can check into going to a rally?
go to his website -- but it doesn't go that far in advance.

Is that the one that reads "part tres"? Appropriate and telling dontcha think?

I don't venture over as most of the rabid ones are on my ignore list anyway. Negativity begets negativity and I just won't submit myself to that level of hostility anymore. I think what they all need is a big ole hug.

just showing their socialist leanings, I think.

I think you just need to remove "oxy" to accurately describe their website.

:

Yep

McCain/Palin are in Colorado Springs today.....HUGE CROWDS are being reported. They are drawing Obama numbers....almost 25k yesterday in two events.

The Boy Scouts will be bringing in flags that were rescued from the trash at BHO's temple!

They were found in trash bags.:sad2:

I can't believe I have yet to hear this on the news!! Disgraceful -- I'll try to find the thread but real life is seriously being a pain today - keeping me from the DIS (and this thread which is moving at lightning speed).

TRANSPARANT: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 AWESOME -- You are a remarkable lady -- and gorgeous too!!

I'm just back from taking 2/4 dogs to the vet (shots)- now I'm off to Home Depot for some plants - all my bushes died in my front yard :confused3 UGH!

I can't get the link to work. Can someone post the article here?

What a great story and pics!!! Thanks so much. :thumbsup2 BTW, you are very pretty!

Well since y'all are probably hung over from our party last night - I thought this might sound good.....

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm .......just what I needed ..thanks :thumbsup2 I must add that McCain/Palin sure brought the base together. :goodvibes popcorn::

Is it just me or does this feel like the most excited the Republicans have been since Reagan?

I haven't felt this energized in a long time, and find myself shocked that it's McCain's ticket that's making me feel this way.

I never thought that would have been possible, but the more I find out about the man, the more I love him.

He is definately the right candidate at the right time. :thumbsup2

Ok GD....that's just downright spooky that we were thinking the same thing about the base and posted at the same time.

I guess great minds really do think alike ;) . :rotfl:

Poor *disgal* is over on the old thread just jabbing away all by her lonesome.:rotfl: I'm going to PM her.:thumbsup2

Anyone else notice that the "Flag" thread has been viewed 99 times, and no Obama supporters have posted there yet?:confused3

Will start this again-started one and lost it somewhere.
Received this e-mail from SIL and hope it will make some people think. Sorry if posted before.

Job Experience
You couldn't get a job at McDonalds and become a district manager after 143 days of experience.
You couldn't become chief of surgury after 143 days as a surgeon.
You couldn't become a teacher and become superintendent with 143 days of experience.
Obama has logged in at 143 days experience in the Senate
and believes he is ready to be Commander in Chief, Leader in the Free World, to follow in the steps of Lincoln, FDR, JFK, and Ronald Regan.
143 days is a good start but just a start.
We wouldn't accept this in our work place. Yet some are OK with this for President.
We are not voting for the next American Idol.

TRANSPARANT: AWESOME -- You are a remarkable lady -- and gorgeous too!!

Nah...the troops are awesome - thats why I do what I do! They are such an inspiration! But thanks for the other comment :)

That reminds me, I got this email contrasting Cindy McCain to Michelle Obama:

One starts a health care organization, and the other gets paid by a health care organization.

One does things she can be proud of, and the other waits for things she can be proud of.

One gives more then any of us could ever imagine, and the other wants to take more then any of us could ever imagine.

One selflessly serves the needs of others, and the other waits to be served selfishly by others.

Has there ever been such a starker contrast.
