The Conservative Thread: Back to Basics. Pass the Lasagna and Have a Flower!!

Latest report from the CB (where I am NOT posting):

We conservatives are toothless hillbillies who marry our cousins, run meth labs and voted for McCain (apparently most meth lab operators were McCain supporters), need to wear Depends because we "leak", and (this one made me throw up a little in my mouth) we want to have, ummm, relations with Barack Obama and lie awake in our beds at night looking at our husbands who just don't measure up to him (projection much? Some are posting "pin-up" photos of The One and then posting "drool" comments. Ick. Ickity ick ick ick.).

Oh, and we're really…yeah, you guessed it, HATEFUL (as opposed to the peace and "flowers" above, I suppose).

What was that someone said? Oh yeah, "You just can't make this stuff up!"

I mean I loooved Ronald Reagan, but, uh, not in that way. It wasn't a crush. It was his love for America (and American exceptionalism), his soaring belief in our ability to manage our own freedom, his disdain for encroaching government power. This Obama love is something else entirely. And it is creepy — and kind of sad. They're Brad Pitt-ing him — and there isn't a person in the world who takes Brad Pitt seriously.

If we did that there would be no plates. Or coins. Or t-shirts. Or posters. Or columns. Or books. Or amusement park bo rides. Or...

I gotta say, I hope and pray this is the case .... I don't want H and his lefty pals to succeed with nationalizing our healthcare, stripping our military, socializing our corporations any more than they already are. GRIDLOCK, baby!!!!

I don't know what to expect - H leading the dem house/congress in staggeringly far left agenda, H waffling and waivering and letting Pelosi take over, H retroing back to the Clinton years, -- I have no idea....he's got these Chicago thug appointees mixed in with these Clinton appointees....he has no record of having lead ANYONE - not in Chicago or in DC -- leaks are already the order of the day - sure sign of an ineffectual leader or what? I just don't know...but none of it sounds good and, IF we make it through the next four years, I sure don't want a stupid plate to remind me of it.

If they're actually saying that's what all of us conservatives are like... report it. I'm not venturing out to read any nonsense tonight, but that's sick and wrong.

Yep, I'm just another stupid, Southern, uneducated hick who voted for McCain and Palin! :yay: I must have imagined where I went to a top college, graduated magna cum laude, went on to a top grad school program, and got my Master's degree complete with a 4.0 GPA. My mistake! :rotfl2:

That right there is funny…I don't care who ya' are. :rotfl:

Sorry to break into your "private thread" here but maybe the full post would be in order as it is obvious that you missed the beginning and the ending of the post you are referencing:

The sweeping generalization that Obama supporters are a bunch of uneducated, welfare-moochin', food stamp abusin' morons is just...well...I have no words really. The ignorance burns.

My coworkers boyfriend's aunt had this friend who was a McCain supporter, and he had this confederate flag in the back window of his pick-up truck, and he didn't have any teeth! And he married his cousin. It was crazy unbelievable, but I swear it's true. Now he and his cousin-bride live in a trailer in the mountains and they run a meth lab. You might think it's not true, but I have a feeling there are a lot of inbred rednecks who run meth labs who voted for McCain.

 For the record, I say that all in jest.

It is easy to dish it out but not so easy to take it in return. :confused3

And just for the record, I believe that Brad Pitt has done more for New Orleans than the current President has.

There are 1522 days until 1/20/2013. It seems sooooo long when you write it out like that ....

Am I on the Disboards? Wow, I think I just stepped onto another planet. One would think his supporters would be happy he bought..ur...I mean "won" the election. They can't find anything else to do but taunt and antagonize those who didn't choose him. Is this the joy we have to look forward to for the next four years?

I guess that the OS feel that it is okay to be intolerant of anyone who disagrees with "The One", as we should never even dare to question him or his policies.

:sad2:

Actually, I thought I just walked into a room filled with "wacky-weed smoke"! It's got to be something like that. There is no other explanation.:rotfl:

OT, but does anyone have any ADR suggestions for me for WDW? I need to figure this out ASAP. We will definitely be going to the following places. I'm listing what we eat there so you can get an idea of what we like.

Le Cellier for lunch (our only big meal the whole trip)
Hollywood Brown Derby for lunch (my mom and I split the Cobb salad, my dad orders the coconut shrimp appetizer, and we all split the Grapefruit Cake)
Tony's for lunch (the flatbread pizza)
Chefs de France for dinner (soup for each of us and a split order of the macaroni; sometimes dessert also)
Afternoon Tea at the Grand Floridian (tea and scones)
RFC at Animal Kingdom for dinner (pizza and chicken wings :lovestruc )

I'd like to try 1 new restaurant this trip. In the past, we've eaten at the following places. We won't be returning to these places this time:

Crystal Palace
Cinderella's Royal Table
50's Prime Time
Sci-Fi Dine In Theater
Mama Melrose
California Grill
Chef Mickey's

I'd like one new restaurant for lunch or dinner, and we want to try a different Character Breakfast (CM's is getting way too high). I prefer one with Donald. :donald: Any ideas?

Tutto Italia is probably my favorite restaurant at Epcot right now....love it, love it, love it. I think, Tusker House has Donald....and the food is good too.

Simply trying to disspell the disinformation that was being spread around...

I felt it was proper to provide the entire quote in context so it was not assumed (as it appeared that it was) that someone actually meant those comments about Conservatives that supported McCain. The original point was that those types of comment coming from either side are stereotypes and should not be stated as if they had any basis in facts.

CRT is pricey but, I love the Castle. I would suggest dinner for all adults. Prime Time 50's is one of our favorites....very large portions and lots of fun. I think, Tusker House had Donald....and the food is good too.

CRT is out because of the price, sadly. That second list is the list of places we won't go back to this time. Any suggestions that aren't on that list?

Thanks for the tip about Tusker House. Was it normal breakfast type foods, or was it African-inspired breakfast? I'm kinda picky and have some weird allergies, so I don't like odd spices, flavorings, etc. My mom can't eat that kind of stuff because of allergies as well.

On the political topic, I do not appreciate stereotypes or generalizations, period. So, good to know conservatives weren't actually being called stupid (among other things) at least in this case, I_L.

My favorite place EVER to eat at WDW is Garden Grill. That's our Christmas meal this year. Great setting, great food.... it's just awesome if you haven't been there yet. I love the food. I love it!!!!:dance3: :dance3:

I have no suggestions SD, but I'm jealous of you. I hope you have a fantastic time and I'm so glad your dad saw the light. :D

Well, they might be getting a little antsy because of the non-change that Obama is starting to exhibit...
Barack Obama, December 27, 2007: "The real gamble in this election is playing the same Washington game with the same Washington players and expecting a different result."
And now we see him pack his administration with the "same" old career Washington players!
From Obama's transition site: Close the Revolving Door on Former and Future Employers: No political appointees in the Obama-Biden administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years. And no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration.
And now we see that, as noted by Public Citizen: "Obama's reported selection of former Sen. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) to head Health and Human Services appears to flatly contradict his ethics policy"

I can't wait to seem them flip out when Obama announces that we won't be out of Iraq in 16 months!

I wonder....chi ottiene l'ultima risata? (Who gets the last laugh?)

All I can say is that if they started a thread about it and it started a round of name calling, must have a hit for nerve for someone. :rolleyes1

Look, been there, seen it firsthand, okay? Before I was removed and put into foster care at age 16 and parental rights were terminated, my dad and stepmonster abused the system. I saw them do it, okay? It happens. They would send me in to buy a $.05 pack of gum, get the change, then they'd buy something else with it. They also spent money social security (death benefits) money on stupid crap for themselves rather than what it was intended for (i.e. to take care of me).
I also know someone who had foodstamps and sold them to her neighbor for cash to go buy cigarettes. That was two months ago.

AGAIN, the post was about convincing people to spend money/benefits they need for food or rent on stupid crap about bo that they don't need. It's the same concept as people spending presciption money on a lottery ticket.
It in no way stated that all bo supporters are welfare-sucking con-artists. If you want to take the joke as such, then so be it. I don't care that you apparently think that way of your fellow democrats and project your thoughts onto a post. :cool2:

SD, I'm jealous, too. When are you thinking of going?
