Let me get this straight - an OS is bashing Christians because some guy in the UK said that the US wasn't an enlightened utopia because 52% of its population voted for BO?

Newsflash! Their guy won!!!!!
Yes, but they won't be happy until he gets 99% of the vote...popcorn::

I am beginning to think they will use any reason to bash Christians. I still do not understand why?

Anyway whatever, they can and will think what the want. It will not change what I believe.

Is there any kind of list of the GOP Conservative Congress people? I would like to include them in my prayer plan.

Thanks

Okay, so I venture out on the CB for the first time post-election. The Libs have no idea just how goofed up they are. I was called ignorant.

My lib buddy spoke very highly of Gov Barbour right after Katrina - that she was impressed with his fighting and not whining attitude - in sharp contrast to what was going on in LA at the time.

That lib buddy - might not be so lib after all...

Now that's good to hear.:thumbsup2

Bashing Christians?? I can read some of their posts and just shake my head but that is intolerable. I thought liberals preached tolerance.... guess not.

I'm so, so tempted to go on the thread about who's going to the inauguration, and telling them that, like most Republicans, I have a job and can't go! I don't think they'd take that too well though... :p

Long time lurker, first time cruising a political thread on DisBoards. Great posts all, even the libs. Always great to see them showing their true colors.

The great state of TN did its part this time. Too bad we allowed the MSM to pick our candidate. I didn't care for any of the candidates this year, it was like 1996 all over again.

With all of the disgusting vile coming from libs about Gov Palin I wonder if she's the closest to a conservative we have now? My wife (a big Coulter fan) just LOVES Sarah! She didn't care too much about this election until Gov Palin was announced and Ann gave her blessing. Even went and got a yard sign from the local GOP office. Our county leans far to the right so we were one of several houses on our street with McCain/Palin signs.

OBLIGATORY DISNEY REMARK: We're headed down to GF next week, meeting my brother's family and my parents. Staying 7 days! If we survive then it'll be back to work the next Monday.

It gave me great joy to post my answer. It was pure therapy.:woohoo:

So, are any of you going to be at WDW in June? We are going on the 14th. I booked at Kidani with our DVC pts. I know a lot of people think it isn't worth the money but we love Disney and it is the cheapest way for us to stay the way we like to stay with two teen girls (read, lots of room and preferably two bathrooms). We loved being on site even though it is higher than off. We stayed on site for the first time last June, and it spoiled us.

Yes Yes Yes. I was hoping you would be. You have to let me know where you'll be.

We will definitely be there for 8 days, but maybe more. I want to stay more, but we haven't decided for sure. Heck, I can't even decide for sure about the dining plan, but DH loved it, so I probably will. I love not having to worry about the price traveling with four and the two teens are off on their own.

Remember my post the other day about being called an anti-Semite? Well, now, those of us who support Palin are also "religious zealouts" and we need to really think about why we supported the ticket. "Clearly" many of us had a problem with a black man as President. And "clearly" we are against Jewish people. Never mind that many of the GOP is constantly fighting for Israel. And clearly we need to "get over it" and "clearly" we don't like anyone.

And "clearly" I think some people are barking mad. :headache:

At first I cried, and then I went on YouTube and found Handel's "Messiah" and listened to that. If you want to call me a zealout because I'm a Christian AND a conservative, knock your stinking socks off. In fact, I think I'll take that as a compliment. I think I was actually called an evil genius and an idiot all in the same breath. Funny, but that seems a bit contradictory to me.

People sicken me, they really do.

And now I need to catch up on this thread, for real, and ignore the nonsense elsewhere.

In a round about way. I stated, I had friends in East Germany that thought it was ironic we voted in a socialist POTUS. They thought we were stupid. Of course, the OS start the but, you're wrong...the "whole" world loves bo. They started attackin'. I said, "bless your heart" ...I was laughed at and called "Jesusy"....by someone who's not a Christian. I take that as mean-spirited and a personal attack.

I love our DVC. We like the deluxe resorts and staying on site. It's easy to get spoiled. I wish we had bought years ago. I never realized how much we would save.

:lmao:

:rotfl2:

He's 37, never married, no children, wants both. Strong Christian conservative, no college but is thinking of getting degree in criminal investigations; he loves CSI. :rotfl:

Okay, T&G, you can let Debbie have at it. No need to break out the sharp elbows, Debbie. ;) I'm picturing the fact that this guy was graduating from high school when I was having my first birthday. That's a bit much for me. :rotfl:

I have a question for all of you

Are you a Republican first, conservative second or

Conservative first, Republican second?

I have been doing a lot of soul searching this past week. Politically speaking that is.
We are about to leave the Republican party.

I just wanted to get some thoughts on where the party is heading, in your opinion.

(For the record, we are conservative first)

I'm a conservative first. I realized this last summer as the debates were happening fast and furiously and I was at a total loss for what to do/who to support. I finally settled on Romney around October/November, but I still to this day retain a healthy suspicion of him based on his past stances. I think that's why I already said if it came down to Sarah and Mitt, I'd support her any way I could, just because I trust her to be a "real" conservative. She's given me no reason not to thus far.

When I was younger, I guess I considered myself a Republican first and foremost, even though my principles were conservative. But the last few years, I've changed. Now I will no longer vote for someone just because they're a Republican. If I have a problem with them, I'll either vote third party or fill in a blank "Other" as a protest vote. The exception being when the alternative is far more dangerous (such as this Presidential election). If John Warner had run for re-election this year, I would've gone the "Other" route. I voted for him in 2002. He was un-opposed so it didn't matter really, but looking back I wish I had done a protest vote. I disagree with him strongly on many things. He's like McCain in that he sold cons down the river repeatedly. So even though now Mark Warner is taking his place, I don't see it as being much different from John Warner, aside from in regards to abortion policy.

oh yeah.. GOOD MORNING! OK, at 4am I totally lost it and smoked my last cigarette. Now there are NONE in the house, and I'm doing fine. I think I'm going to insist we take dh's car to hockey today. Its a dealer car so no smoking. Couldn't even if I wanted to. I don't trust myself in my own vehicle. This is the same vehicle that doesn't start without lighting up. Well, it might, but I've never tried it! LOL

You can do it! We're all pulling for you.

I'm with you on that one. Ticked off does not even begin to describe how I feel about the Republican party now.:sad2:

And unless we make our feelings known, I see no change for the party. This morning on Chris Wallace, he asked what the party must do to win next time. They answered that they need to use the internet to get the word out. They do not have a clue as to what the problem is.

They're right, to a point. Obama took advantage of the Internet and really used it in his favor. We need to figure out how we can use it. But more important than that is fixing the mess within the party. If they really think the main problem is effective use of the 'net, then we're in for more misery for a long time to come. :sad2:

GOOD LUCK!!! YOU CAN DO IT! This coming Wednesday marks one month for me since I have smoked. I now have a horrible cough that I think is part of my body ridding itself from the junk that was in there, but it is getting better. It has been somewhat difficult because my husband still smokes. But after about a week the smell grossed me out so bad I did not want one anyway. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!!!! :yay:

Yay for you too, dreamer! Keep up the good work!

OMG, I just read your post and freaked out. My best friend's cousing is 25 and in law school in Virginia. He is a real sweetheart, and awesome Christian, and SINGLE! I am going to have to work on this!

:scratchin

You have my attention, nanner. :rotfl: What law school does he go to? A friend of mine graduated from UR last year, and another friend of mine is a 3rd year at W&M.
