Nope, no "browbeating" of school kids for McCain in this classroom video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDEAYgm0Dv8

(Note: The first few seconds of the video appear to be in German as the video was part of a foreign TV program)

I cannot believe this!! What in the world is wrong with these teachers?! No wonder I have my kids in a private school that believes what I believe.

The comments, however, are rude to say the least......don't need to read that crap either, but I found this one interesting......

"This video is part of a Finnish documentary on Obama fans, and it is shocking that you have to go to a foreign country to learn what goes on in our own classrooms. "

mmmmmm........yes, very telling.

What? You thought it would be optional? Sorry, Charade, but you aren't being a good little socialist.

If the OA tries to give me a job, I'll have some optional quotes to share with them regarding their job.

Wouldn't it be illegal for Americans to be forced into a Corps? How is it that the dems are okay with this, yet they beat the conservatives up over the mere thought of a military draft? Would this constitute indentured servitude?

I watched the video, and was sick to my stomach. I felt so bad for that little girl. I would be furious if I was her parent.

I don't even have kids and I'm so not happy with the school system here. Not happy with my iothernet connection either. Y'all know long it takes to download youtube vidoes on AOL dialup?? Too dang long:rotfl:

I gotta talk my Dh into something faster. And its taking forever to upload my cruise photos to a decent webhost. :upsidedow

My thoughts exactly ---

Ooops, got the country wrong! I should have paid more attention to the accents on some of the letters in the sub-titles. We hosted a Finnish exchange student when I was in HS!

The comments by the teacher ARE mind-blowing in that she thinks her behavior is acceptable because she tells her students it's "OK" to be for McCain but then throws in "...but he'll likely keep your Daddy in Iraq for 100 years!!!"

Did y'all get the email about the woman and abortion?

The synopsis:

A woman goes to her doctor saying she has one child and can't afford a second.

The doctor tells her ok bring in the 2 year old and I'll put him to sleep.

The woman is appalled and tells the doctor her 2 year old is a living child and she could never warrant killing him.

The doctor says, well the life you're carrying is also a living child. If you're so callous as to want to get rid of this baby, why would it be so hard to kill the other child? It's murder in both instances.

This is EXACTLY why I am pro-life. It's a living being not a choice!

Well, here's the Cavalry uniform.........

Note the helpful reminder about Nader........

:)

So i take it I'm not the only 1 who stepped into vote and said "He's still alive?" when I saw the name on the screen:rotfl:

Excellent:wizard:

I think some of you viewed the video, here's the local report.

Fayetteville, N.C. — Cumberland County Schools officials expressed shock and disappointment Friday upon learning of an online video in which a local teacher tells a student her father might be deployed for years because the family supported John McCain for president.

A Scandinavian film crew making a documentary last spring on support for Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama captured McArthur Elementary School teacher Diantha Harris talking to her fifth-grade students about Obama and McCain.

When one girl said she was backing McCain because her parents were, Harris responded, "Oh Lord." She later called the war in Iraq "senseless" and told the girl that McCain planned to keep U.S. troops in Iraq for 100 years, if necessary.

"That means your daddy could stay in the military for another 100 years," Harris told the girl, who silently bit her lip.

The video, posted on YouTube.com and misidentifying Harris as an "Ashville N.C. school teacher," quickly made the rounds on conservative blogs, with many bloggers calling Harris a child abuser and demanding that she be fired.

Harris couldn't be reached Friday for comment.

School district officials learned of the video late Thursday and were investigating the matter to determine if any disciplinary action was warranted, spokeswoman Wanda McPhaul said.

"While neutral discussion of the political process is appropriate, at no time, particularly with elementary students, should a teacher infuse his (or) her political views into the discussion," Superintendent William Harrison said in a statement issued Friday. "Most disconcerting was the military slant that made its way into this discussion. We are a military community, serving over 15,000 military students and their families. We value the sacrifices, not only of the military parents but also those of their families.

"I was particularly disturbed to see the uncomfortable position in which our children were placed due to the inappropriate actions of one of our teachers," he said.

Officials discussed the matter with the girl and her parents, who said they weren't upset about the exchange with Harris, according to McPhaul. The parents said the girl had a good experience in Harris' class last year, she said.

Man that bike is enough to give somebody a seizure though:lmao:

Did you read the know anyone who has had an abortion thread? Yikes. I don't agree with those who claim a fetus isn't alive but I've read that a billion times already. I was more saddened by the discussion of the difference between choosing to abort vs choosing adoption. It is harder for a woman to let her child go to someone who will love and raise him than to kill him? Wow! That is messed up.

My gf is expecting twins and she went for her first ob visit and the doc couldn't hear a heartbeat. My friend called in a panic and said she was being sent for an internal sono to have a look. Her dh was working and couldn't go with her so I met her at radiology. When the tech showed us the sono of TWO flashing heartbeats - OMG, you can only imagine. She got little pics of her embryos and she was only about 10 wks. There is mistaking that the pics are of babies. It ticks me off to read people calling them "cells". I don't even really think that all abortion should be illegal, but for God's sake at least acknowledge that it is what it is - ending a life.

Oh, and by the way, why is telling someone to leave our thread points worthy, but ridiculing someone's intelligence not?

I'd be willing to bet her teaching days are numbered. And rightfully so!

I agree that abortion is wrong and wouldn't have a problem with it being outlawed. However, we seriously need to look at why people are having them. People who use abortion as a form of birth control disgust me. However, if I got pregnant right now, I have no clue what I'd do. I would lose my ROTC scholarship and have to leave school for a semester or two. I know my parents; they wouldn't let me in the house if I was unwed and pregnant. I would honestly have no way of caring for either myself or the baby, and I wouldn't want to accept government money either. Of course, I'm making sure I don't get pregnant right now, but there are a lot of girls out there who could find themselves in similar situations. I think we, as a society, need to make it easier to support women throughout pregnancy. Yeah, they messed up and have to deal with the consequences if they can't care for a baby, but I'd rather the consequences not involve killing a baby.

There are pregnancy crisis centers across the country that deal with situations like this every day. They'd help you find a place to stay and have the baby and do whatever you decide. They're not about pushing adoption on moms or foster parenting. But these place get so little publicity from MSM that most ppl don't know htey exist and its a crime. And Planned parenthood doesn't publicise this either.

If a look in the phone book doesn't find a center then a clall to the nearest Catholic church would get you a center number pretty quick.
