The Conservative - Liberal Debate Thread

A girl scout cookie? You can stop at a girl scout cookie? Man, I have one and I devour the box! That why whenever I see those little fascist brats in their green berets, I run the other way! Girls Scouts are the devil...the devil I tell ya!

:lmao: :lmao:

My DN is a devil in training, it's her first year, and she was quite the cookie-seller!:thumbsup2

OK then lets focus the debate.

Should ROTC be welcomed on EVERY college campus without any restrictions? (and no placing the ROTC center at some obscure location)

Should military recruiters be given full access to high school students and campuses?

SOME

Yes, if they receive federal funding.

Issue Resolved.

That's great...it reminds me of Sen. McCain's calling himself a "conservative liberal" on the stump last week. With his liberal stance on immigration, campaign-finance reform, stem-cell research, global warming, oil drilling in Alaska, and Gitmo, I'll give him a bit of leeway on that statement. :teeth:

As an Obama supporter how do you feel about Hillary's attack which was something like:

Sen McCain has life experience to bring to the job, I have life experience to bring to the job as well, Sen Obama gave a speech in 2002.

I really really can't understand why anyone still supports her:confused3

If your talking about the one I am thinking of, he CLEARLY did not mean to say that and corrected himself 1/2 through liberal. It was a mistake pure and simple.

While he may have corrected himself I think he spoke truthfully.

I'm not interested in tearing Hillary down. However, I think that by making this election about "experience" when the Republican nominee has more than both Democrats combined, the Clinton campaign is trending on some very thin ice should she win the nomination. Obama's saving grace is that after 8 years of an Administration peddling their "experience", the American public is more interested in "change". If McCain's fool enough to attack Obama in the same way Hill did, the Republican party's in for a world of hurt come November.

Uh, I'm not sure how she feels her 35 years of experience are so much more important than his 20 years of experience, that personally makes no sense to me. If you want to be truthful about it, then be truthful about it, and don't be so coy....

Personally I'm more upset that local Obama signs have been taken, and replaced with Clinton signs (it was seen while others were canvassing the area), and one Obama sign was burned up last night in a supporter's yard... these are the tactics of her volunteers? Makes me wonder....

I can no longer support her in any way shape or form....

By her logic, Laura Bush could just as easily run. She was a Governor's wife and a First Lady for 8 years. :confused3

Hillary has done an excellent job as Senator of NY, I won't take that away from her-but I've said many times that I do NOT like her campaign style. I think she's made serious mistakes that she may not be able to recover from.

She and Rudy both made the mistake of taking things for granted. One can't do that in politics and both of them should have known better. Both are paying for it. Actually one already has.

I'm not anti-military at all! Good grief, I worked for the military for 9 years and my Dad worked for them for nearly 40!! What I am is anti-waste of military resources-especially military PEOPLE.

I have no problem with the military being used for just cause.

Amen to this! My brothers served in the military for years, I worked on designing bombs for God's sake... I'd say I'm not against the military, but I am against wasteful spending of our goods and of our service men and women.

And the question I have is WHAT experience really prepares anyone to be President?

I think the position is much more about (the) vision (thing). LEAD and people will follow.

Yup, you are right Fitswimmer, why didn't she run for this go round I wonder?? Another President Bush, it's what this country needs afterall

Speaking of women however, does anyone wonder what Chelsea Clinton might do in the future? She may have good standing if she can move to a state where she could get into the Senate....
