Agreed. If you want to do a group survival show do that. (Discovery now has Dual Survivors....so the logical extension would be to have a large group of people forced to survive/rebuild together)
This just comes of as a fake reality "Book of Eli" type show....with the kidnappings etc.
I was intriqued by the commercials, but after watching a couple of episodes, I'm done. It just seems too 'fake'. I'm disappointed because I really thought it might be good.
I'm still trying to watch it, hoping it gets better. If one more group "invades" them and has a battle I'll be done. That entire concept it lame. I did enjoy watching them make fuel and building the windmill.
I love the show and find it really interesting...does some of it feel fake? yeah but how else is it going to feel, it's TV...and I like that fact that it's not some game show where they are working towards winning some huge prize at the end

I believe they are just paid a "salary" per episode, I recall it being somewhere between $1,500 and $2,500. There is no ultimate prize or incentive that they are competing for, other than I guess the chance to somehow become a celebrity.
Oooh-I would love to hear! Any chance of a PM with some stories?
I have very mixed feelings about the show overall. I go from horrified at some of the things to amused by the stupidity, to impressed by the things they've come up with. Oh-and grossed out by some of it, too.
