Jack: Jack watched a man put an arm around Alex and wondered who he was. He didn't think that was her father but the whole group looked like a real family to him.

Alex: Alex sighed happily before looking around the sky and the grounds again. She mentally scolded herself for ever thinking Toby's parents wouldn't like her or that she couldn't trust them, she felt relaxed around them and didn't feel like at any moment she would be judged or hurt. And that put her at ease.

River: River smiled at the sky. She sat close to her grandma glad she now had told her everything, well almost everything. She still didn't know Daniel was her boyfriend.

Toby: Toby looked over at Alex and smiled. Then glancing around the beach he realized how many of the students didn't appear to have families that came. He suddenly realized that had Alex not joined his family she wouldn't have been alone. In fact she would have been with Jack, and they probably would have gotten closer. Toby was really glad Alex spent her night with him and his family.

Alex: Alex started humming once again while drumming her fingers on the ground as her habit. She wasn't bored, quite the opposite, she just didn't enjoy the silence and she knew Toby would know that better than anyone.

Toby: Toby sat up straight now. He smiled as Alex began humming, though others might not understand why she did this Toby did. He just sat smiling. He was upset that the night was almost over, but he knew he should enjoy it while it lasted.

Daniel: Daniel rose to his feet. It would be time for the goodbyes soon. He glanced around, looking for the classmates he needed to congratulate.

Alex: Alex stopped humming and sighed sadly as she stood up. She didn't want to watch the goodbyes, or even say one herself if she did, and definitely didn't want Toby to get upset.

Alex: Alex smiled slightly at Toby smiling and turned to his parents making her frown. She looked down at her shoes subconsciously and kicked some dirt.

Alex: Alex tapped her shoes together before looking up at everyone seeing them smiling. She smiled sheepishly before saying," So..."

Ooc: Maybe we could go inside and do the goodbyes and wait for Wings to make Professor Collins end it? I'm not sure.

James: James gripped Daniel in a hug. He was going to miss his little brother. "It was good seeing you Danny boy."

Daniel: He hugged his brother back. "You too James."

James: "Take care of yourself Dan. I'd be cautious about angering your classmates. Oh, and do us all a favor and get yourself a girl mate."

Daniel: Daniel laughed with everyone else at James' comments, but he laughed quite hard. Then James slapped him on the shoulder and let go, and Daniel gave him a bittersweet smile.

Peter: It was Peter who hugged Daniel next. He'd only been with him for a few hours, but it was clear Daniel had grown so much. "It was wonderful to see you Danny. Yes he might be a blockhead sometimes, but this time you listen to James' advice, yes even about the girl. Hey, you tell me when you've got a good free day, and we'll see about me flying down and grabbing some lunch or something."

Daniel: Daniel chuckled quietly and smiled. "Yeah, that would be great."

Peter: Peter also slapped his brother's shoulder and stepped back.

Mrs. Schaffer: Mrs. Schaffer waited for Peter to step out of the way before gripping Daniel tightly. "Daniel, I'm sorry your father didn't get to be here."

Daniel: Daniel hugged his mother. "It's fine Mom."

Mrs. Schaffer: "Be a good boy and a good student. Get your homework done, ask your brothers or your classmates for help when you need it, be a good friend, you'll be living with your classmates for the rest of the year. Don't get into too much trouble, I don't want to receive a call home from your professor. Write, call, email or video chat us all the time. I love you so much Dan, I'm proud of you."

Daniel: Daniel was going to miss his mom. He managed to get out, "I will Mom, I promise. I love you too."

Professor Collins: The professor called attention. "Well, thank you all for being here tonight. It was wonderful to meet you all and to host you. I would like to personally thank the geniuses behind tonight's fireworks, the students worked really hard and were very creative with their abilities. I also want to thank all of the parents for supporting these students and caring about their education. My personal helicopter pilot is on hand ready to take you back to the mainland when you wish."

River: River smiled shyly at her grandma. She hugged her and felt tears sting her eyes. "I love you" she whispered into her ear.

Rose: "I love you too" Rose whispered back to her granddaughter. She let go and slowly began walking to the entrance, she knew she needed a head start if she were to keep up with the group. But before she got too far she paused at where Daniel stood and said in a low voice so no one else would here "now, you take care of my granddaughter" she said casually.

Toby: Toby finished for her "it's see you soon" he said feeling his throat tighten. He hugged his dad, and then his mom again not wanting them to leave.
