River: "yeah, that sounds great" she said smiling. She wasn't going to pass on any time to spend with Daniel even if they couldn't talk to each other.

Toby: Toby stood in the classroom, since he wasn't here yesterday he couldn't decide whether or not people already knew where they were going to sit. Upon deciding that there were not assigned seats he walked to a seat near the back of the room a few seats from Max and sat down.

OOC: As of now everyone is in the classroom.

Max: Max pulled out a journal, not noticing where Toby sat until she was ready for class. When she did notice him, she glnced down at her desk, slightly embarressed. Why, oh why did she have to say what she did? It would have been better if she had just left him alone. Then she wiped all emotion from her face. None of it mattered. He'd be disgusted with her like everyone else, everyone was always disgusted with trouble makers. And Max was a trouble maker.

Daniel: Daniel smiled at River and grabbed a chair not too close to the front, but not too far back. He felt comfortable sitting in the middle for some reason.

Professor: The proffessor wrote on the board.

In your journals, write at least five sentences about one of these topics:

1. How could class or the school in general be improved?

2. Which would be better, sitting in rows like we do now or sitting in groups of four or five?

3. What different places we could go to or things could we do as a school to either learn something new or bring the class together?

OOC: To all: I'd like it if you could post these, just so I could see how to make the game better

Toby: Toby looked down at his desk at his blank notebook, he was still wondering what the others thought about him, he looked over at Max and sighed. He wished she had never said anything, because now it was all he could think about.

River: River looked at Daniel after the questions were on the board and gave him a look saying she had no idea what to write about.

OOC: I'm really not sure what to say for these questions.... :)

OOC: This is better, it's an actual question I have. I can't decide whhether to have a school dance and take the students to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party or take them to New York and another place.

Professor: "Oops, wrong one, sorry guys. That's from last year." She erased the board and wrote a new topic.

Would you rather have two smaller field trips or one big field trip and a school dance this semester? Why? Explain in 4-6 sentences.

Daniel: Daniel smiled at River. This was a much better topic. He began to write.

Max: She considered the new topic. She certainly did not want a dance, but bigger field trips were better than smaller field trips.

Max: She considered the new topic. She certainly did not want a dance, but bigger field trips were better than smaller field trips.

River: River smiled at Daniel when the question was changed. She began to write. She liked the idea of having a school dance a lot. At her old school they had a lot of dances, but she didn't go to any of them, she didn't even consider it. But now she loved the idea of having a dance and a big field trip.

Toby: Toby looked down at his notebook and slowly began writing without even being sure what his answer to the question was.

OOC: I think the dance idea could be a lot of fun.

Amelia: Amelia started writing. She didn't have much of an opinion on what to do. She would probably just be uncomfortable no matter where they went. She thought one big trip would be better, so she would only have to go through it once.

OOC: Yea, I like the dance and Disney idea. I think that will be fun (:

OOC: Daniel wouldn't mind taking River.

Max would hate it, but if we had one I have a feeling she'd be forced to go.

Max: Max finished penning a response. She wouldn't be caught dead in a dress, much less at a dance, even if the trip was good. The skirt she had to wear to class was bad enough. A dance? If she didn't go, it would be a waste of time, if she did go, it would be torture.

Daniel: Daniel wrote. Most guys wouldn't be too into a dance, but if they had one he'd gladly take River. It would be fun, unlike other schools where he ended up going by himself. And a big trip too? That would be great.

OOC: I think it would be fun to have River and Max's relationship get stronger with the dance. Like "come on it would be fun, otherwise you know I think professor might be curious about what happened the other night" lol .:)

River: River finished writing a response and looked up from her page and smiled at Daniel.

OOC: Lol.

Daniel: Daniel smiled back at her.

Max: Now that the journal was done, Max was bored.

Professor Collins: "All right, finish your sentence and put aside your journals for now. We've got to decide which book we're going to be reading for the next few weeks. I'm going to have Max pass out a ballot, just circle one title and turn it over and write your name. You'll know what book when I've tallied the ballots. Let's try to do this quickly, we need to move on to our first lesson. Max, if you'll come here."

River: River was glad that at least they would have some choice when it centaur to what books they would be reading. At home River read all the time, and with all of the time she spent sitting at home she read countless books. Yet she had never read a book for school that she found even relatively interesting.

Toby: Toby winced at the idea of a dance even though it was what he wrote about wanting. He liked the idea of having one big trip, his family traveled a lot, and so he liked the idea of doing something big.

Max: Max got up and collected the ballot from the professor. She passed it out to the other students, She would refuse to look them in the eye, unless they spoke to her.

The ballot said:

1. The Great Gatsby

2. The Scarlet Letter

3. The Giver

River: River took the ballot from Max and smiled at her. She read over the names of the books and circled the Giver. it had been a book she had wanted to read for a long time but just hasn't yet.

Toby: Toby didn't reach up to take the paper for Max, instead he just let Max set the paper on his desk. He didn't let his eyes leave his desk, it wasn't that he was mad at Max he just didn't know what he would say to her, and he didn't really want her to say anything to him.

Daniel: Daniel took the ballot with a nod of recognition. He looked over the list and circled a book. He then turned the slip over and slowly signed his name.

Max: Max didn't want to say anything to Toby. She felt awkward in front of him now. But before she acted out, before she ostracized herself. There was something she had to say. As she passed his desk, she kept her eyes to the ground, and, hiding her face behind a curtain of black curls, she murmured, "I'm sorry." Not only for what she said to him, but for deceiving him. She had no idea what he thoght she was, but it wasn't what she was, a worthless troublemaker. She made her way to her seat. At her desk, she circled a book, not even caring. It wasn't like she was actually going to read it.

Professor Collins: "I'll collect the ballots at the end of class. Now, if you'll take out a sheet of paper or two, we're going to take notes." The professor immediately went to work. She turned on the projector and put on her powerpoint.

River: River took out paper and carefully wrote down the notes on the power point.

Max: Almost indecipherably, she nodded back at him. Then she began to take notes, waiting for the right moment.

Daniel: Daniel got out paper and began jotting down notes, smiling at River from time to time. The notes were boring, they were over different types of essays, but sitting near River made it more tolerable.

River: River tried focusing on her notes but she kept getting distracted. She saw that Daniel kept looking at her and she liked that, every time she knew he was looking he smiled.

Toby: Toby looked down at his notes and wrote down only what he thought to be important. He was glad the air was clear between Max an himself.

Max: A good way through the notes, Max leaned back in her seat and sighed loudly. She said it as if she was talking to herself, but make no mistake, Max meant to be heard by the professor and the whole class. "As if we haven't known what essays were for several years."

Professor Collins: The professor went quiet as she facepalmed. It had begun. She looked up. "Miss Patterson. I spared you from detention yesterday because there was a real emergency situation that I had to take care of that was a higher priority than your misbehaving. I will not be letting you off so easily today if we come to that point." Then the professor continued on with the notes.

Daniel: She did it again. Daniel hadn't expected Max to continue making trouble. He didn't understand why she deliberately chose to do that. He glanced at River with a confused look, shrugged, and continued writing notes.

River: River looked back at Daniel and shrugged. But she knew that she knew more than anyone why Max acted this way. After looking back at her notes she closed her eyes and sighed. She wasn't worried about Max getting detention, but she was worried about the punishment she might receive from her father. But no one else knew about that.

Toby: Toby stared at Max and didn't look away. He didn't understand why she was doing this.

Max: Max looked back at Toby, at first with a quizzical look on her face, with one eyebrow raised, a classic look for Max over the years, as if she was saying, What? You expected me to be an angel? Then she flashed a wicked smile, and there was a mischevious glint in her eyes as she winked at him, signaling that she wasn't finished yet. Then she nearly threw her head forward as she bent down towards her desk. Black curly hair obscured her face as she wiped it clean of emotion. Everytime she showed emotion, it was costly, so costly. It made her wonder why she raised the costs when it came to Toby. Perhaps because he was fun to confuse.

Toby: Toby continued watching in confusion as Max continued in her routine. It was obvious this was planned, people didn't wink at people when they were acting like themselves. Toby didn't let his eyes leave her for some reason. He kept watching to see what she was going to do next.

Max: Through her locks, Max continued the notes. She could feel Toby's eyes on her, watching her, but Max didn't care. Max never cared. Max just wrote. Then, her elbow slipped off the desk and her arm moved. Searing pain traveled up and down her shoulder. Max began to reach for her shoulder with her other hand but immediately pulled it back. Max was stronger than that. She balled the hand into a fist, digging her nails into her palm.
