Title says it all! We had bkfst at Askerhaus this morning and the cold bar was back. Server only brought to the tables the platter of eggs, bacon, sausages and hashbrown casserole and drinks.

Yay, good news! They said it was just a test, but I doubted we would see it again. :)

This is wonderful news! We really loved breakfast at Akershus last year, and said that when we return there in Sept 2016 for my nieces first trip, this would be the one TS breakfast we would pay out of pocket for.. We loved everything, the cold buffet and hot foods and meeting the princesses was great! I was really bummed when I had found out that they were doing away with the cold buffet (didn't know it was a test), but I hope it back for good!

YAAAYYY!!!!! So glad to hear this. I was holding out hope that they would bring it back. I held on to my ADR just in case!

Does anyone know if the lingonberry muffins and lingonberries themselves are back?

:yay: I'm so glad it's back, it just doesn't seem the same without it. I hope it stays for good!!

Wow, that was fast! And about the mickey waffles in the post above - if that's true, I may be switching my dinner ADR for breakfast. I've read in some reviews that they'll make different dinners for picky people but I hate being "that" person. lol

I've never been. Now that's it's back, which is the better meal, Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner? I'll be on the dining plan.
TIA!!

We were told the Mickey waffles were reserved for those with allergies only. Other people have been able to get them, so, clearly, it depends on the server, I wouldn't plan my breakfast around them.

Depends on your tastes. Looks at the menus at Disneyworld.com. We tend to prefer breakfast because we are breakfast people in general plus we haven't had great experiences with the lunch and dinner kid's meals (undercooked pizza, very tiny portions, etc). But the adult entrees have been pretty tasty.

I have heard on request you can get Mickey waffles. Can anyone verify this.
Yes! Last year I had also read that you can ask for mickey waffles (we had no food allergies). So we asked our server and he gladly brought us a plate full of the mini mickey waffles! We love mickey waffles, so this was great! We love breakfast there!! I agree that I wouldn't plan the meal around them, but it never hurts to ask. They did not question us when we asked and were happy to to do it.

I'm not sure, but I don't think they were. I did notice a few things missing. There used to be a muffin with a crumb type top and also strawberry cream cheese. Didn't see those muffins tho and there were only plain and herb cream cheese. And I didn't see any of the pecan halves either. But still plenty of other pastries and fruit.

I agree with @jenjersnap - it depends on your tastes and preferences. We've done all 3 meals and breakfast is our least fave...part b/c I'm kind of underwhelmed by their standard breakfast plate offerings + we found that they added more savory options to the cold bar at lunch and dinner. My kids never really loved or hated the kids meals, but my younger one was 2 the last time we did dinner there and I swear she was trying to eat her weight in breads, cold cuts, cheeses, and shrimp salad. LOL :D

thank you so much for giving us an update...we LOVED the cold bar area too...actually loved the whole buffet...kids really enjoyed it

Glad this was posted! We were bummed when we heard it wouldn't be there for our upcoming trip. Thanks for letting us know!
