A bunch of summaries from the civil War. Like 28 summaries. I've typed this much so far. NEXT POST

Plantation Life- There were 20 slaves per Master, or owner of Plantation. Most slaves were treated cruelly and had to work from Sunset to Sunrise each day! During the Harvest season, slaves would work for a whole 18 hours sometimes. The slaves harvested the 3 major crops and 1 material. These were Cotton, Tobacco, and Rice. Kids would be tutored in Plantations. The tutors usually came from England. When a slave had 15 children then they were freed. Slaves would tell folktales to each other to keep up with interest. They were allowed to read books though if they knew how to read. The more slaves the Master had the more property they had.

History of Slavery- In the 1600’s, millions of slaves were taken from Africa to America by English ships. The slaves were sold to the South as according to strength. Most slaves escaped by the Underground Railroad. Harriet Tubman was one of the helpers of this organization. The slaves loved Abraham Lincoln for trying to abolish slavery.

Underground Railroad- From 1810- 1850, the South lost many slaves. The train traveled by night. The end destination of this trip was Canada. To get there though, you had to take many different stops at Stations. Harriet Tubman was a main person of this organization. She was a “Conductor,” or a person who moves slaves. Her real name was Amanita. She died in 1913 after freeing about 3,000 slaves in her life.

Costumes of 1800’s- Women would wear thick dresses everyday. A socoat and a vest were popular for the mean to wear. In the late 1860’s, men wore suits daily. Young men wore Frockcoats and plaid skirts until they were 4. Once they turned 10 they wore suits daily. Young women would wear the same as their mother. Slaves had ripped and torn clothing.

Pro’s and Con’s- NORTH PRO’S: Population was greater, Slaves were soldiers, Much more industrial, Better transportation, had enough gold to back up their currency, and had skilled generals and warships.
NORTH CON’S: South was defensive. North didn’t know the land as well.
SOUTH PRO’S South were closer to home, Could grow food, knew the land, and had Good military leaders.
SOUTH CON’S: Didn’t have much money, no industries, had inflation, and had a small navy.

Hey everyone,

How're you all doing?

MD, great job on the report. When will you know your grade on it?

 NC Beast doing good here. Seems very slow on this thread again. We need to pick it up.

What's everyone's plans for this weekend? How's the weather where you live?

:wave2:

We have no major weekend plans yet. I might make a black bean chili this weekend. We may do some fall cleaning and prepare for the upcoming cold weather.

It's getting colder here, but we don't get snow, don't have to really change the type of clothes that we wear, .... but I would love to experience the different seasons somewhere in the mainland or Japan.

Tomorrow going to breakfast with gal pal then we are hitting the seasonal arts and craft shows. One is called Brushy Creek. It is a fund raiser for a working ranch that takes young men that are first time trouble makers or on the wrong track and cuts their hair short, gives them a cowboy hat and a pair of wranglers then gives them physical work, teaches them manners and respect of others and themselves.
