The CM said it was an "Inside Job"

My sister and I went to Tinker Bell's Treasures to check out the chester drawers..whereas you can peek through a "key hole" to "see Tinker Bell"....As someone earlier had said on the board..it was still down. I questioned a CM who was working there about "when" she thought Tinker Bell would be fixed..(this is not to be confused with "waking up Tinker Bell upon arriving)..and she said she really didn't know...that it had been down for a month...The reason being...the projector (showing Tinker Bell) which was behind the drawer...was stolen ..and that it was stolen during a time..(and was in a place) that only somebody who worked there would know.

I was hoping that when we went in February...and my granddaughters didn't make it in time to wake up Tinker Bell...at least they would be able to see Tink in the "Peep Hole"....I hope that either the projector is brought back, found, or replaced.....Now why would somebody even take it in the first place... ????

What I don't understand is that CM's have to board a bus to get back to the cast parking lot, and their bags can be searched...they actuallly have to open them for the guard to look in....so how could a cm hide a projector?????

Not all CM's park in that lot. There are other ways CM can get to and from work.

Maybe they are bringing in a real TINK to sit in the dresser.They are having the D Fairies at 1900 ParkFair in Feb from what I heard.

They also may be updating the image to go with the one from the new Book and movie.

It's been down a lot longer than a month. September 2004 - working, March 2005 not working, December 2005 not working. My dd has been disappointed twice and I mean disappointed! I have the cutest picture of her looking into the hole on our first trip. She has not forgotten that.

Also, I do not think that was a projected image. The one we saw was a little figure of Tink in there, not a projection - but I have been known to be wrong!

Don't kid yourself, there was a ceiling fan that was not working in the RNR queue the first of July and it did not get replaced until late October. Just a plain old fan took 4 months during the hottest part of the year.

Maybe the real reason they have not replaced it is, this is an easy way to stop the madness called run like idiots to wake up Tink. This way they can stop it, and blame it on the missing projector.

The image (I thought it was a figurine though) in the drawer has nothing to do with the 'wake up Tink' routine that sends blinking lights around the shop, so stealing it wouldn't "solve" any problems with that.

It wasn't working in October when we were there. My niece (& I) were a little disappointed that we couldn't see Tink in the drawer.

Yeah, I have heard that small children have been pushed and stepped on by overeager parents who want their child to wake Tink first. Perhaps Disney is just offsetting any potential lawsuits.

If this is the case, I am sure WDW will come up with another way to satisfy the little kiddos without them having to bring their own body guards!
