The Clone Wars Impact

I agree it would be nice to have it updated (although I'm happy with it even as is). But I'm really curious if Clones will have THAT big of an impact. My 6yo and 10yo Star Wars FANATICS have barely expressed even a lukewarm interest in Clones after seeing the preview commercials. They like the "real" Star Wars. I dunno, either we're just not the Star Wars fans we thought we were or maybe Clones will draw in kids/people who haven't already taken interest in the other movies.

I think Star Tours needs a face lift. Hopefully Star Wars Weekend and the Clone Wars will have some impact on the ride!

Are you really happy with it the way it is? How often to you go to WDW to see it? For those of us who go on a regular basis because we live nearby, the quality of the film is suffering greatly. It's to the point where it seems like you are back in grammer school in the 60's. {yea, I know, I'm showing my age} and they showed movies on these old projectors that show every little flaw in the films. And there are a lot of film flaws that show up on the screen. They really need to change the show.

We went and saw Clones, and both DH & I thought it was not great. It didn't advance any plot line at all and felt like a Saturday morning cartoon. We are big Star Wars fans here.

It probably did feel like a cartoon because this movie is supposed to lead into a cartoon series on Cartoon Network.

We're annual with every third year off. (This was our year off.) I think for those of us who don't go more than that, the excitement of being there makes it hard to see the flaws. We're too busy having fun to notice things like that. I think last year we rode Star Tours about 12 times and loved it each time. Granted *I* rode about half that since we were parent swapping.

eta:now I'll be LOOKING for film flaws next year. thanks! :rotfl2:

Sorry 'bout that! :goodvibes

DH & I went to see the Clone War movie. We love Star Wars and we both liked the cartoon/movie and thought it was well done. Unfortunately, I think most folks are used to the live action and couldn't get into the cartoon. Just my 2 cents.

I find it funny since the last 3 Star Wars movies were 99% CGI (computer graphics) except the actors...now the actors are CGI too and people are upset, when really it isn't that much of a change.

I didn't really care that it was completely CGI. Weird, maybe, but it didn't really bother me. I just thought the story was lame. Certainly not the great storyline we're used to from the Star Wars franchise.

I expected more from it I figured Star Wars animated or not it had to be good. I was really disappointed. It didn't approach the standards I expected. I knew it would be CGI of course but that wasn't even it though I did feel the animation was not nearly as good as it could have been. The story line was weak, it didn't really fit with the rest of the series. I wasn't even expecting it to be great figuring that since it is the prelude to the series on CN, I did expect it to be good and it wasn't even that. I fell asleep- maybe that's whe all the good parts were... My 4 kids saw it too and love Star Wars they were not thrilled either... Given that this is supposed to appeal to kids and the new series especially, I was surprised that even the kids in the theater- not just mine- were not impressed.

Whether or not the movie was good or bad (personal opinion), the Star Tours ride still needs an update. I'm always excited to go on it, but feel let down when it's over -- JMHO.

I think an update is coming and with the tie in to the Clone Wars (Cartoon Network) maybe sooner rather than later. JMHO:happytv:

They ruined Dhs when they took out who wants to be a millionaire experience in my opinion that park is worthless

Personally, I think Toy Story Mania is a far superior replacement to WWTBAM:PI... but what does that have to do with Star Wars: The Clone Wars?

:offtopic:

Maybe Disney is going to announce the Star Tours update along with their plans for the 40th anniversary. Maybe they'll announce further plans for Pixar Place as well.
