Ok, my Halloween clock has started. My kids get 24 hours to make themselves sick and eat all the candy they want. It is hard to watch and I do brush their teeth about ten times but when it's over it's over. Tommorrow night any candy left over when they go to sleep will go in the trash.

P.S. DH knows this and he will start eating the extra candy as I get the boys ready for bed.:D

I took DD to a local store that was having a special event for the holiday. Turned out it was mostly just big bowls of candy placed around the store. We went to 3 and I decided that was enough candy. I also decided then that we wouldn't be going out tonight - although DD did get dressed to help greet the TorTs who came to our house. I'm pretty sure this will be the last year that I'll be able to do this without a fuss since DD just turned 3.

She doesn't get to eat a lot of candy during the year - in fact we still have some left from Easter. :) I like your approach - throwing out what isn't consumed. I may need to keep that in mind next year...
