Now that I know it's your graduation....CONGRATULATIONS!!! How exciting to be celebrating it at Disney World! Do you have a job lined up for when you get back or are you already in the health industry? I was thinking of going back to school and getting my nursing degree (already have my Bachelors in Health Science) and thought that the combination of the two would be awesome! So you're an RN right?

God willing, I will be an RN after I pass the boards, but yes, I graduated last night with my Associates in Applied Science in Nursing. Going for my bachelors in July and who knows, hubby is trying to talk me into going to Nurse Practitioner.......told him he was crazy!! I am 40 yrs old and about over this LOL.

Nursing is a great field and combined with your health science degree you would be set up nicely for a very successful career. Nursing gets hit by the recession as well, not as many people have insurance anymore so less people go to doctor when they really need to. However, there will always be a need for nurses. You would also be great at it, I can tell by your sense of humor!!

I was in a "bridge" program where once you complete your pre-reqs and are accepted into the program, at the end of your first year you can sit for your LPN boards and the second year you sit for RN boards. So I graduated with my LPN last May and have been working for the local hospital. I'll be staying there in the Icu and cross training to the ER. (yeah, I'm a trauma junkie......its not that I WANT you to get sick or hurt, I just wanna be there when you do).
Will you be driving to WDW?

No, we will be flying at 1220pm tomorrow!!!!!!!!!! WOOT DD7 first flight. So many firsts for her I can't wait.

I just finished radiography school yesterday and I can't wait to have some real meals. I have basically made it through the last two years on bags of doritos, bacon/egg/cheese sandwiches and lots and lots of coffee.

Pink....I totally hear ya about living on doritos and coffee. Thank Goodness my mother moved down here 2 years ago when I started nursing school. She fed my family while I went to the local waffle house to study. (home always had laundry, dishes or something besides books calling my name). I am soooooooo looking forward to these ADR's just to get a REAL meal!! If we do absolutely nothing else in Disney I am gonna make up for 3 years of lost meals!!

congrats on radiography school!!!!!!!!! You guys and respiratory are nurses BFF!!!!

Scanne, it really is great down here. I love it. It did take some getting used to though and after 4 years I'm still "adjusting". Things are so much slower than in NJ and sometimes I have a hard time being patient. But overall, the people are friendly and life just seems ....well, for lack of another word....simpler. Family values are foremost around here and I LOVE that!!!

So...come on down!!!!! (as price is right would say)
