Where is the drool smiley when you need it?!?! We have all of our ADR for our upcoming trip but now I'm wanting to either drop one and add Citricos or just eat an extra meal. :)

I hear ya, I had a ADR for this already. Now I am wondering if a second night might be worth it since I am staying at the GF.

To be honest, this is the first time I've listened to the DIS Unplugged Podcast and I loved it! :lovestruc

We're planning on having a meal at Citrico's with our guests after our Disney Wedding next year - so thought I'd check out the review and I'm now really excited about going here!

I definitely know what starter I'm going for, I just hope it's still on the menu.

I'm glad that the place doesn't seem to stuffy too, as I find the Grand Floridian isn't exactly my cup of tea either, but figured it's the best place to go to not look too out of place in a wedding dress :lmao: - I believe they have a private room called the Chef's Domaine which is what we're going to try and bag, fingers crossed!!

Citrico's is fantastic!!! We just got back from our anniversary trip and had our special dinner there on our last night and all I can say is OMG!! It was sooo delicious - we were on the dining plan and witout it, it wouldn't have been financially possible for us to eat there, but it was definately well worth the $200 it would've been had we had to pay for it.

DH & I had the Arancini ($9 ea) - it was a risotto ball that was lightly breaded and quickly fried. It had a nice crisp outside with a soft texture (typical of a risotto) inside.

Then I had the salad of romaine ($8) which was good. I can't really say much more b/c really it was just lettuce, some blue cheese crumbles, a few slivers of hearts of palm and a splash of dressing - the romaine was very fresh and it was good. DH had the heirloom melon with proscuitto ham ($14) and ate everything else except the melon :confused3 in his defense he did try it (as did I) but I wouldn't have ordered it b/c I don't like melon.

I had the Bone-in Rib Eye Steak ($45) and it was almost the size of my plate :woohoo: . It was accompanied by a few fingerling potatoes (that could've been cooked just a touch longer, but were excellent otherwise) and some carrot shavings lightly tossed in olive oil. If you like meat, you'll love this dish! It was cooked to perfection (med rare ;) ) and had a very tasty demi-glace that just complimented the meat so well. That night I said, "It was the best tasting cow that ever died and gave it's life for me!" DH had the Filet Jardinere ($41) and it was good. It was small compared to mine, but was perfectly cooked and he enjoyed it. I enjoyed mine waaaay more though - his had some kind of demi-glace on his also, but I can't quite say what it was - possibly some type of wine or something. His mased potatoes were AWESOME - if I could've paired them with my steak, I could've died and gone to dinner heaven! They were so creamy and buttery - they were exquisite!

For dessert I had the Warm Chocolate Banana Torte ($8) it was good. It came with a scoop of French Vanilla Ice Cream and went very well with it. The torte itself was good, but it was VERY rich and it had some slices of banana throughout. It was made with dark chocolate and I'm not a fan (more of a milk chocolate girl) but it was good. IMO it needed the ice cream to balance out the extreme richness of the chocolate. It was decorated with a hand made dark chocolate fan - it was so pretty! DH had the Tirmisu ($8) and boy was it good! I am not a fan of coffee, but the bite I had of his was delicious! The espresso wasn't overpowering at all and the little dallops of white and milk chocolate just made it!

DH had a glowtini, which looked very pretty, and had one of those glow cubes. I had a bottle of Pellegrino (we shared it) and a glass of unsweetened Iced Tea. They don't need any elaboration b/c if you've had them once, you know how they taste :thumbsup2

I enjoyed the Citrico's review, too. I haven't been there for a few years, so I'm glad to hear it's still good. I understand that a lot of people don't care for the fussy Victorian theming of the Grand Floridian. Let's just say that my sister LOVED the look of the place. It reminded me of her condo. Except my sister's place is much more "fussy" than the GF. I'm even scared of her decor. :scared:

I'm also thrilled to hear the Kona sushi is fabulous. I thought I either read somewhere or heard from someone that the Kona sushi people were trained by Yoshie from the California Grill. That might explain why it's really good.

I couldn't find a drooling one but does this work?

cause I am booking an ADR there on my next trip!!

They do have the Chef's Domain there -- when we were in the planning stages for our wedding, another Disney bride asked if I would photograph the private dining room for her and it really is lovely! I'm sure it will be perfect for your day - congrats!!!

What a great review! Thanks for taking the time to post - with so many awesome reviews, this will be a must-do on our next trip!

We ate there in August because we couldn't get a table at Narcoossee's.

The food was very good, but the service was fantastic! We ate the night before at the Turf Club and had a snooty waiter that rolled his eyes ans sucked his teeth when we mentioned we were in the Deluxe Dinig Plan (he also felt the need to warn us that buffalo wings are spicey ((really? thanks for the tip Jack-A))). In contrast our waiter at Citrico's never batted an eye at being on the dining plan (nor should they IMHO). He was exceptionally courteous and efficient...earing himself a well deserved and excessive tip.

The waiter at the turf club...well let's just say he got 15% and not a dime more.

I think Citrico's is a true hidden gem! And Arancini is amazing!

That coffee sounded delicious. I'm there next trip!

So right before Kevin explained what they ordered, I went online to check out the menu. The two of you chose EVERYTHING that I would have eaten and now I'm drooling and starving. And the coffee?!?!? I think I need to book a trip just to go to Citrico's tonight! :)

Kevin----you've wrecked it for us!!!:rotfl: We have been going to the Citricos for several years. It is one of our all time favorites! Now EVERYBODY knows.
We have probably eaten there 6-7 times over the last 4 years. We have never had a bad item. I was alittle concerned the first time we went there because I thought it was going to be too stuffy. It's not. We do "clean up" after being in the parks all day before we go out to dinner-but that's more for our own comfort. The staff is very efficient and pleasant. It is definately a special place for a special evening!
I will forgive you Kevin, only if I can still get my ADR's there.:woohoo:
