Ok, not to be rude, but breakfast sounds not so good and since my son is allergic to eggs he probably can't eat it anyway. Lunch is overpriced as is dinner, but Cinderella is my son's "girlfriend" he is enchanted with her and wants despirately to get into that castle
Anyone know if you can just go in to see the castle downstairs and talk to Cindy, maybe get a magical picture?

You aren't really going to breakfast for the food although I though everything was really good. They have danish, fruit, bacon and yummy potatoes so there will be plenty for him to eat. We went this past summer and we all thought it was one of the highlights of our trip. You only live once. Go for it!

If Cinderella is his wish, why not just have dinner at 1900 Park Fare? The food is yummy and you get Cindy, FG, PC & some mice :-)

Because they check you in outside the entrance of the restaurant, I am not sure that they will let you in the waiting area without an ADR. Also, Cinderella isn't there all the time, she makes "occasional" appearances according to the dining staff

Yes, you can just walk into the castle. If questioned just tell them your son wants to see the inside. But Cindy isn't there all the time. Mary Poppins and the penguins sometimes make an appearance, the Fairy Godmother etc. If he is patient enough, I'm sure he could see her, but it might mean waiting a bit. :-)

I asked to look inside the restaurant our last trip and they would not let us peek. I a different hostess and she also refused us. I was shocked. I wouldn't plan on being able to get in. !900 park fare was good. It was a little crowded but the food was great.

Why not meet Cinderella in Toon Town? She is often in the large Char. meeting area next to Mickey's house. Might be worth the wait on line.

I believe egg beaters are still considered egg product. Good Luck finding Cindy :)

We ate there this July. It was fun eating at THE castle. We got to see most of the princesses - including Cinderella. It was neat. We thought the food was good. We like the non buffet style. They had a lot of choices that your son could probably eat.

That being said....the princesses only spent about 3-4 minutes at each table. Just enough time to sign autographs, make a quick response to the kids and to get a picture. Then they were off to the next table. I heard that if you made a later reservation (10:30 or so) that the princesses spend a bit more time with you because they don't have to rush to meet the next group.

We probably won't do it again, but it was worth it the first time.

Thanks for all replies...and yes, egg beaters are made from egg, danishes also have egg...perhaps they will just bring him some toast and jelly :confused3
I guess I'll try for a late morning breakfast in the castle. If we can't get a seating, I'll just ask about a peak inside when we are there...
Last time we saw Cindy over by Mickey's house but he just really wanted to see her in "her castle."

donnabc-The great news about the allergies is that they can easily be accomodated by the restaurant chef. If you contact Brenda Bennett, she is assistant to Disney's executive chef & is a wealth of information and advice. Her email addy is Brenda.Bennett@disney.com or her phone number is 407-824-5967. If you let her know when you'll be dining at the castle or any other restaurant in the MK, she'll be able to make suggestions and let you know what can or can't be done.

I've eaten at the castle with an anaphylatic egg allergy (along with banana, peanut, tree nut and a few other allergies) and have had no reaction at all. They are great to work with.

When you make any of your dining reservations be sure that they flag your name with the fact that a member of your party has allergies. That way you can be sure someone will attend to you inquiries at the restaurant right from the start of your meal.

If cost is the factor, you may be able to find out from a CM in the parks where Cinderella might be at a particular time and try to snap a photo with her at that point in time.

For the poster who mentioned Eggbeaters, they are made from eggs so that would not be an option. As far as I know all egg substitute products are made from some form of eggs, wish that wasn't the case!

Sorry I didn't mention this in my post, they can make an egg free danish or pastry, they also brought me fresh fruit, muffin, bagel, bacon & sausage and potatoes.

We had breakfast in the castle and my system will not tollerate grease on any kind (no fried eggs, no hasbrowns, etc) so they brought me yogurt, granola and fruit. They also had very nice pastries.

Go! Have a wonderful time!

Do the breakfast, but tell Disney about your son's allergy when you make the reservations.

They will give you the direct phone number to talk to the chef one week before you eat there. They will make sure he has great things to eat that are safe.

Disney is very good with dietary medical conditions.

I agree that you are not really going for the food, but the interaction with the characters and pictures, but my CRT breakfast was my favorite meal. The meal was fresh, the fresh fruit was real and not something out of a can or jar and the rolls were really good also. I'd do this meal again before I'd do Chef Mickey dinner.

When we went about four years ago they let us in the castle to look around and were very accommodating. Then when we went two years ago they wouldn't let us in at all. Maybe it depends on the hostess? :confused3

My DD is allgeric to eggs and dairy so that really cuts out any breakfest foods (to make maters wrose she is still breast feed so that means none for me too.)

I would try to see them at toon town at a non busy time. Last year we saw the pricness at TT and then went over to ecpot for lunch at Norway (I don't recomend it) and it was much easier (and cheaper! :earseek: ) Just to see them at toon town. Infact DH and I thought the princesses were more attentive and better at TT. If you aren't going for the food, don't pay for it. :goodvibes

If you want to go to a meal, I agree with MiknMinMouse. 1900 park fare is great, really good food too. I would consider that.

welovedis, thanks for the info. We will be going in Jan and that will come in handy. Can they make egg and milk free danish and the like. If that is the case I am so happy!

When are you going again? Because the price for CRT really goes up in Feb. (really high, insanely high actaully.)

I'm not sure about the egg and milk free since I can have milk products, but I know they will honestly do their best to make accomodations. Call in advance or email Brenda and you'll be happily surprised at what they can provide.

Look like we'll be there at the same time in Jan, we arrive on the 5th and I'll be running the 1/2 marathon, DH & DS will do the Family Fun (Chicken Little theme) 5K! )

Very cool, (but actually I am hopeing the weather is HOT instead.) There is going to be a lot of Dis'ers there at that time. I am going to email her. I haven't made my PS yet because I am not sure how many of us there will be (friends MIGHT be comeing, the are going to deceid when the nov 3rd codes come out.) Right now I know we want to do Ohanna's, CP (we do every trip) Jiko (1st time) LLT (for lunch, love that place) Not sure where else we want to eat. How do they do with food allergies with walk ins? They at least know what is in the food right (not like some Olive gardens and the like).

Also how are CS places with ingredient lists? Is there anyway to get them in advance so we know where we can eat before standing in line?

Sorry to highjack your thread donnabc, hopefully the info can be helpful to you also!
