I'm an absolute chocolate chip cookie NUT and couldn't wait to try the cookies everyone raves about on the ship. They weren't so great to me (hard as a rock and overcooked), but I could be in the minority here. Anyone else disappointed in them? Of course, I found MANY other things to console myself with in place of the cookies and I'm still working them off on the treadmill....

The ones on CC are the BEST, but I didn't turn away the ones on the ship either!!

I thought they were GREAT!!! I moonlit night, crashing of the waves, sitting out on the verandah, a 6pack of corona and a huge plate of choco chips cookies...heaven....

I am with Pidge. I thought they were hard. Although, I am a Chocolate cookie fan I prefer them soft. I ordered them the first night and that was enough.

I thought they were missing something! Didn't realize it was a few Coronas! :flower:

The ones on Castaway cay were best on our last cruise (4/05)-especially when they have been sitting in the sun and are warm and the chocolate melting. I packed 3 in a cloth napkin and took them back to my stateroom for a snack. The ones on deck weren't as good this time. They had a cookie stationthis cruise, but last cruise they were at Scoops and were in the sun and again warm with the choc melting. Just so so yummy.

They were really good to us and the best ones were on the tray during the galley tour when they took them right out of the oven. YUMMY! Those were the best & definitely nice & soft.

Coronas and cookies. This is a new one! :teeth:

Our Palo Server (Chris) tipped us off to the galley tour and how you would receive a hot-out-of-the-oven cookie at the end. Nope, mine was cold and and hard as a rock. (And a note of advice if taking the galley tour, get in the FRONT of the line if you can, we were in the very back and couldn't hear a thing.)

I wasn't very impressed with the cookies either. I have heard many people on the DIS rave about these cookies, but they were cold and hard. I like my cookies soft. :sunny:

Yes, they are hard, but that doesn't stop me from devouring them!

However, I much prefer the oatmeal raisin cookies I ordered from room service. They were still warm, and chewy! (I won't tell how many I ate.) ;)

Ok Being a little piglet and having 2 little girls that love cookies ( Honest) :rolleyes1 When you order from room service do you ask for the amount you require ie, a couple per person or do they just bring 1 per person or a plate per cabin :confused3
Silly Question I know but we don't want them to think were being greedy

I just asked for 'oatmeal cookies' thinking maybe they'd bring two, but they brought a dinner-plate size of say, about 6-8? (I'm still not telling how many I ate.) :rotfl:

Hi, whenever I ordered, for my kids of course... :rotfl:  I always said that there were a TON of kids in the room... :earseek: Ordered two plates FULL..................

I'm with Pidge on this one. Been on four DCL cruises -- the cookies on the ship and CC taste like cafeteria cookies to me. I don't like them. I guess I'm just a molten chocolate lava cake person myself. ;)

They were pleasant, in that sort of a "better than a chips ahoy but then, what isn't?" way. But nothing special in and of themselves. Now, no telling how different tastes add up to different views, but these cookies just did not show me anything that deserved a rave. My DS 9 enjoys the "break & bake" you buy in the supermarket and bake at home, and those are better than the on-board chocolate chip cookies. Were they bad? No, certainly not. And there may indeed be a certain thrill of ordering room service chocolate chip cookies that just hits a nerve w/ some (I grew up in a small town w/o Pizza delivery, so when I got to college and learned of something called domino's, where i cook pick up a phone and soon someone knocked at my dorm room door, I thought I'd gone to heaven...took me years to come to terms with how bad that pizza was, I didn't care, they brought it to me!) and I think that is reasonable.

I had DS do the ordering, he said "plate of chocolate chip cookies, please" and we got around 6 I think. They are still listed singularly, as "giant chocolate chip cookie" on the room service menu, which is not accurate--these arent "giant", though "large" might be fair (okay, baking experts, help me out, are there global standards for cookie sizes? you know, like 31-40 count shrimp, for example...or eggs...).

Just remember, the best thing from room service still isn't even on the menu, thank goodness we knew about it from DIS---yes, ordering Mickey Ice Cream Bars!! :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar :mickeybar

Okay, the thrill of my first college pizza all over again, you know??

I enjoy Toll House cookies (from scratch) much better than what is onboard.....I thought they were missing something as well.

Has anyone ever seen a sugar free cookie on either ship?
My DH is diabetic and we have written DCL about having sugar free cookies and ice cream at scoops. Has anyone seen this happen yet?
