The Celebrity Apprentice 7 (Season 14) thread - Spoilers!

And oh yeah did I see the previews right? Two episodes tonight (Monday) as well? :cool1:

I think the right person went home. (At what point does it cease to be a spoiler?)

Oh right, I knew I forgot to add something to the thread title. Adding the "spoilers" warning.

However, the definition of SPOILERS on this thread, (as various TV show threads here decide amongst themselves it means something different,) it means that we will be talking about this show in real time as it airs on the East Coast (ET). And YES, we will be talking about who is being fired during the show. So, if you are in another time zone and don't want to read about who is being fired, stay away until you watch the show. popcorn::

I think we usually agree on this thread, please NO future spoilers, for example: no rumors, articles/interviews, tweets, about upcoming episodes in terms of who gets fired.

For people peeking in to see who got the boot last nite:
Keshia Knight Pulliam got fired over Kate Gosselin and someone else.

If her mantra is go big or go home and then you don't go big then...you go home. There really wasn't another choice.

I noticed that too. :lmao: I'm surprised Piers didn't nail her on that right then & there. The conversation would have been over right then.

I'm glad Trump gave her charity $25,000. :thumbsup2 I have always thought the losing charity should still get something other than a mention by the celeb endorsing them. Especially the way it's set up. The celeb taps their own people to raise money, but then the money for that specific task doesn't even go to their OWN charity. AND if they lose, NO money, at all, goes to their charity. :sad2:

Sorry, but if I'm going to make personal phone calls to friends & associates to give money for MY charity, then some of it should go to MY charity. Every famous person with deep pockets has a personal charity. Why should they give money to mine? They are doing it as a personal favor. But, then I lose, and the money doesn't go to my charity at all. Sorry, I could have called these same people for the same reason, without being on the show, AND the money would have directly gone to MY charity that is near & dear to my heart. :thumbsup2

I know the leader for the winning team gets money for their charity (set amount, $25K?)

Where does all the rest of the money from the task go? I know Trump makes money from the show. I would hope that money goes to some charitable cause even if it isn't to the team member causes. Does it get pooled in the end to go to the Celebrity Apprentice's charity?

I am so excited this show is back! I honestly cannot stand Donald Trump at ALL, but I really like watching the "celebrities" do the challenges. I really hope this time around it's not just about fundraising. Otherwise, why even have people like Kate Gosselin, Shawn Johnson and Lorenzo Llamas on the show? It needs to be about more than just money because then the person with the wealthiest friends would always win.

I am SO glad Kate didn't go home last night. I know she didn't bring in any money but she did work really hard. Plus I've always enjoyed her shows when they were on. I'm shocked at how quiet she was last night. Where was her fight and her fire??? I hope being a single mom and going through years of court battles hasn't ruined her spirit. It was almost painful to watch.

I LOVE Gilbert Gottfried! I thought he would be annoying but he's so funny!! This seems like it's going to be a good season.

One of the joys of Celebrity Apprentice for me is seeing NYC.

I love the just back from commercial shots. Yes, it's a show with actual content, sort of;), but I just love the production choices. Beautiful.

Man, that Bill Cosby questioning was uncomfortable to watch. Did anyone see Today? EDIT: Didn't read above, will read link.

Oh and Ivanka. Love her grace and intelligence. Piers was interesting as well.

Not a fan of Donald at all but he and Ivana must have done a great job as parents as they seem like wonderful children/adults, over many years of airings.

There is no set amount the winner gets during the fundraising tasks. The winner takes ALL the money raised from BOTH teams. The Losing team lead gets zero. Last season, (I think,) during the Celebrity All-Star season, the winner, who *I think* might have been John Rich or Lil John got a whopping $300,000 - $500,000+ for their ONE charity when the two pots on one episode were combined. It was the most raised in CA history. And the season wasn't even over. (Somebody correct me on who it was. :))

That's all well & good for that one charity. But, there are 16 contestants at the start of the season. Personally, I feel each of the charities should have gotten some money. That $300,000 could have benefited sooo many more charities when the money is spread out.

I think Kate was quiet because she knew that if she annoyed Trump, she'd be gone. I also think she really needs the money she personally gets from being on each episode. That would help her & the kids a lot, the longer she stays. So, if tonight isn't a fundraiser and she's a hard worker again, and her team wins, she will survive to a 3rd challenge.

I also think she wasn't fired over Keshia because she has a larger fan base than Keshia. Trump is all about the ratings.

I also find Gilbert Gottfried surprisingly funny. I love how he laughs at himself when he knows he isn't very good, like when he said he's "decorating the pies at the level he can do them." :lmao:

Glad I checked the TV Listings and saw it starts at 8pm tonight. I would have been tuning in at 9 and missed half the show.

I'm sure it's all in the editing but it seems unfair how some celebrities fly under the radar for a few weeks. They are hardly shown working on or contributing to the project and barely mentioned in the board room. I'm sure it's all up to Donald, (moods and ratings) but what's worse... brainstorming and acting on a bad idea, or contributing very little to the team effort?

I notice this on many shows including Amazing Race and Survivor. I do think part of it is show the good stuff for ratings. But the other part is, they know in post production who is going home and the conclusion has to make sense. Even if it seems out of nowhere, there are little hints through the episode.

So when they showed Kate making pie filling and then she and another contestant told each other they did a good job (or whatever they actually said)--it caught my attention. Then when the one lady threw Kate under the bus, I was like what? And then Piers immediately defended her---for some reason we saw all this. But it wouldn't make sense to let the lazy comment to sit--but they knew Kate was on the chopping block and it fit.

For keisha--if caught my attention when they focused on her leadership in a negative way. They pretty much do it all the time for whichever team is losing--but recall that the team also hit heavy with calling Bill Cosby.

We saw all that (maybe a bit too much) because that was ultimately why she went home, so for storytelling purposes, they had to set that up.

But yeah, unless it is a mega major screw up, he does fire folks for ratings, especially at this very early stage.

Also--with 14-16 contestants (don't recall how many), tough to dedicate much time to each of them, even in a 2 hour premier where a half hour is spent on the board room. So they do have to choose who the important characters are each week to highlight in editing.

Really? Brandi doesn't know how Kate would make money if not for being on tv yelling at her kids? Um, Kate's a nurse.

Who is this Brandi? I should Google her but I'm not all that interested.

Never mind, I looked her up. Eh, big deal.

They've set up Brandi & Kate to be "enemies."
