The CB... Mini Rant, Please Ignore

I don't post they're, since my name would obviously indicate that I'm a teen, I wouldn't feel very welcome.

Though I lurk over there every so often, and one thing I've noticed is that they seem to always assume people with low post counts are trolls. And they don''t try to hide that.

I'd rather stay on the TB. We rule! ^_^

I post on a few theards there.. I did make a thread there once.. and guess what?? They IGNORED me over there. :/

But, thats just really mean of them, I don't think its really a CB board to be honest.. I mean Community Board? Oh c'mon - Its more like, World War Three there. Just A LOT, A LOT of fights, and drama with adults. And even if you do post, your gonna get BASHED for anything you say or do there pretty much... which really does suck. Because, don't they say its a board for everyone and everyone's invided to join in on their threads? Well, how can you, when they just BASH BASH BASH on everything you say? I think its just REALLY wrong. I'd rather stay on the TB than go anywhere else.

Yea, it's like they don't care about WHAT our opinion is, all they know is that we're young, which makes them think we're naive' little brats, and that we're "too young to understand".
I remember it getting a little ugly a few months back between the CBers and TBers. There were actually a few nice adults who didn't care that we were teens and were very respectful, but man, I remember a few VERY snooty adults.....

I must say, I've lurked on the DISboards for a long time, I spent most of my time on the CB.

I didn't come to the teen board because I didn't want to deal with the high-school-type drama.
But every one here is so nice and welcoming. The few times I posted on the CB I was just ignored (probabaly because of my low post count). The first time I posted on the TB I started a thread and got lots of nice replies! :

And I agree the CB is really clique-y and makes it hard to become a part of the conversations.

I also agree that some of the people over there seem very nice.

BUT I'm lovin' the TB and will probably be around for a while. You guys rock!

Ya know what I say?
I'll keep posting over there until a webmaster tells me to stop. Don't like it, don't read it. The adults over there are more immature than any other.

But really, what is the main reason? Because they think we are not mature or did was their a lot of annoying teens a few years ago that bugged everyone on there?

It takes a certain amount of 'control' to post on the CB and if you can't handle it, you really shouldn’t post there.

I've seen some of your posts recently and my advice to you would be to stay away from the CB because at the rate you're going, you are going to lose your privileges on the DIS.

No, it just means that I got 10 points for being rude because I was sick of being bashed for everything I said. I wasn't thinking, and those points also resulted in a loss of tag

Pardon the interruption but as an adult and frequent poster on the CB we aren't all bad. Actually a lot of us are very nice. I think you'll find with any board that you'll have your good eggs and your bad. But please don't paint all us adults with the same wide brush. Just as you are saying we adults do that to teenagers, you are doing the same thing to us.

I don't mean to come off reprimanding you, but just saying we aren't all that bad.

Y'know, I realized that after I posted phorsenuf.
We complain all the time many adults paint us with a broad brush, and then we go and do the same thing.

It is pretty interesting that you can have a 4 page thread on how much the adults bash the teens. Isn't this exactly what you are all doing here to the adults? As Phorsenuf said, there are many people(of all ages) on the CB that are nice. I'm the mom of a 14yo girl and also a moderator for another teen board, so would like to believe I'm understanding where you all are coming from!
