The caboose swap closed

Guys,

Melissa just called me to say she arrived at the Poly and there is no stroller. Luggage services doesn't have it. The person before her was supposed to send her the check number, but she didn't get it. She's been in FL with family for a while an hasn't had internet access since the Monday after Thanksgiving. She doesn't have access now, either. So she called me and we're hoping to sort it out....

Who was supposed to have it before her?
Can we track this stroller down? Come on guys, help me find it....... It's got a long list ahead of it........

I know when we were there in September it was hard for the luggage guy to find it for me. He actually had me walk into the luggage area to help him find it. The bag is black and quite large, but doesn't really look like a stroller would be in it. Good luck. I hope it is found soon.

Thanks for this. called and let her know so she can go back and tell them... Maybe we can locate it :-)

Hey guys....cukal6 had the stroller from Nov. 29th - Dec 7th (which is today).
Maybe she has not dropped the stroller off yet?(Just a thought)
Did Melissa have an exact time that the stroller would be there for her?
Please keep us updated.

I sent a PM to the person prior. Maybe with a little pixie dust we can get this sorted out.:thumbsup2

She called early this morning, and said they couldn't find it. I dunno....

I just got in from work and had a message from the previous swapper.
Hope this helps!!

Re: Stroller-where was it left?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The stroller was dropped off at the Poly bell desk around noon today. They did not give me a claim number. They only thing they did was put the last name on the ticket. I tried to give them a confirmation number but they wouldn't take it.

just spoke to her husband its been found not lots of details but I'm at school now and will update later

I am really glad that it was found:worship: :worship:
I have a feeling that it being dropped off at bell services and not luggage services might have caused a glitch.
I also think that she started looking for it before it was dropped off.
However....I am glad all is well.:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I'm glad it was found too! :yay:
The closer we get to our trip date, the more worried I get that something won't work out with the stroller. If we have to pack ours from home, we might have to leave one of the kids at home. :sad2:

Iheartdisney.....I cannot PM you as your message box is full.;)

sorry- I fixed that! PM box is wide open now!
Thank you for keeping on top of the situation. And I am SOOOO glad that it was found. I am anxious to to hear details.
Please, please, please make sure you leave all of the info with the stroller. (Name, date of arrival, phone number, and reservation number.)
Good luck!

Well I just arrived home
they did find it in the back... after 3 cast members looked!
it is getting very used!
THE SEAT IS REALLY DIRTY AND SOME WHAT STAINED,
to me that did not matter the kidos sat on it any way.
I was going to wash but I did not get to do laundry at the poly.
I did a face to face to pass it on to Robin. One of the snaps is broke
for the seat but it still worked fine.
Melissa

I hate to hear that a snap is broken and the seat is so dirty and stained. That's disappointing for those of us who are getting the stroller later in the swap. I think people tend to not care so much about something that they don't "own".
If nobody washes it before, I'll definitely wash it when we get it in a month - we're staying offsite and will have laundry in our house. I hope the stroller is still in one piece by that time.

Hey, I am glad to hear the stroller was indeed safe & sound where it was supposed to be, phew!

@Heidi: I just want to say that we sure treated that stroller with respect, and from the sturdy condition it was in when it got to us (in Nov), I sure didn't have the impression that people were being careless and irresponsible with it simply because it was not their own. It had a stain. And it was structurally and functionally fine.

Just wanted to point out that we don't all treat loaner stuff poorly because it's not ours. :thumbsup2
Michele

PS--Also want to point out that to date the stroller has traveled approximately 45 days in the parks (rough estimate from the swap schedule on p.1 of this thread)!!! C'mon little stroller, keep on working hard!:wizard:

Rutgers Alum~
Thanks for your reply. I'm sure most people are respectful, but others (unfortunately) are not. That's just the breaks, I guess.
I guess it's also the risk you take in getting a stroller for a week at $15, as opposed to a day at $30! I'll take $15 for the week, deal with a few stains (which I can hopefully wash out); I just hope that it's structurally sound enough to get my kids around the parks for 8 days.

Should someone bring a big safety pin or something to replace the broken snap?

The sad fact of the stroller swap is that it doesn't take mis-use for the stroller to be showing some wear at this point. It has been used almost daily, probably for 8-10 hours per day average (or more), for the past 4 months. That is more use than a normal stroller will get in 3 years. I know as a previous user we were very careful with it and it certainly wasn't abused. But it did get a LOT of use in the week that we had it. Just the fact of being folded and loaded on and off of the buses and monorails gives it lots of use. Why do you think Disney company uses strollers that have no material on them, only plastic and metal. No stains, less wear. So please, give the previous users a break. For all of you future users, be grateful that you aren't paying $200 a week for the use of a stroller and take care of it as if it were your own. (Or better than your own). Be happy...you are at Disney World!
