The Bus System

So for all you alumni, I would like to know how the buses worked out. How long did it take to get from your apartment to work every day? Which places other than Disney places do the buses go (e.g. Walmart, Target, Publix, etc.)? How often do the buses come to the apartment complexes?

The bus system is not too bad. It gets you there. The CP has since switched bus companies since I left in August, so I don't know what that one is like. I lived at Chatham, so it took longer to get to work from there (The bus drivers take a break at Vista, which is where the buses went before they went to the MK, which is where I worked). So if you are at Vista Way, the approximate time to the MK is about 15 minutes. The buses also go to other places, which are Walmart, the shopping center, and there's others that I can't remember right now. The buses come about every hour, I believe.

I had a car there on my CP from may 04-jan 05 so I can't say much. I can say that depending on your housing, one of your roommates will most likely have a car. Just ask them when they are going to walmart(or so) and ask if you can tag along. Or you can just find a boy/girl to flirt with, and talk them into taking you places. I know a couple girls did that to me.

I had a group of neighbor girls that did that to me. I never knew when they were serious, so when the one girl jumped on my bed at 7:00am after i worked until 3:00am, and I apparently told her to walk to walgreens in the rain ( i wasn't concious at all! )

She did... and I really haven't spoken to anyone from that apartment since ( i moved to a different building a couple days after this ).

The bus thing depends on where you work. I'm an IP, so I work at Epcot. It takes us about 25 mins to get to work, including the obligatory, (uggggh,) stop at Vista.

Buses run to Wal-Mart every day except Sunday. On Wednesday and Saturday they run during the day, the other days from 3pm til about 2am. It runs once an hour, which makes it bloody impossible to ever plan a "quick trip" to Wal-Mart! And missing the bus back to housing is enough to put you in the most foul, "I can't believe I'm stuck at WAL-MART" mood of your life!

The AK and MGM buses run every half-hour. Epcot runs on the half-hour early morning and then every 25 mins until about 11pm. Not sure about the MK bus or the buses that go to resorts and Typhoon Lagoon. I think the TL bus is rather infrequent.

The new bus service is nice, but the drivers won't let us stand-up! It's SUCH a bother, especially when trying to get to work for 11 - 11:30, as that's when the World Showcase opens and when sooo many castmembers need to get to work.

However, the bus drivers will let us stand on the bus on the way to and home from PI despite the fact some of us can barely stand properly in the parking lot let alone on a moving bus!

I'm here right now and the busses are okay I guess. I wish I had my car here, though, and so I'm trying to find a way to get it down here. It would make life just || that much easier.
