The Bronx is Burning
An 8 part ESPN (Disney owned) mini series about the 1977 New York Yankees and the events in New York at the time which was the summer of the Son of Sam arrest. Director Jeremiah S Chechik lead all 8 episodes and does a nice job telling the story of the bizarre love and not so nice triangle between owner George Steinbrenner, star Reggie Jackson, and manager Billy Martin but it's not without its flaws. There are minor timing errors that only the extreme baseball geeks would find. The green screen work is probably as good as 2007 tv budgets would allow and the giant prostatic Billy Martin ears John Turturro dons are ridiculous. Overall, it's a fun story if you're a Yankees fan. If you aren't, I wouldn't seek this out. 2 out of 5 Reggie chants.
