I am trying to find out some info on this Boardwalk restaurant. My questions are
1. What is the atmosphere?
2. Is the food good?
3. Would you recommend it for a large group?

Thanks to anyone who can help me!

Atmosphere light would tables/brushed chrome legs. It is a restaurant/bar type atmosphere. We love the food, it is always good. We have been eating there since it has been opened, and most recently just a couple months ago..food is still good. It would be fine for a large group.

Big River Grille is okay, IMO. We had a late lunch there in Oct because DH was told on the golf course that their beer was good. We walked right in without a problem at 2pm or so and it was mostly empty. It was a tad warm so we ate inside and the smell at first is very strong - it's the beer fermenting smell. I will say that after about 10 minutes you get used to the smell. They also have some outdoor tables.

The food was decent. Nothing special, but okay. I had a pulled pork sandwich and it was good - the chips are kettle chips which I like. DH had a burger, it was good, and my mom had a salad.

Service was good, and prices were fair. It was nothing big, we likely won't return unless we just need an easy place to step into for a quick meal as there are so many cool unique places to dine at WDW but it was good.

The atmosphere is looking at big beer things (you can see where they make the beer).

I think a large group would be fine there =)

You might look at Spoodles if you want to stay on the Boardwalk and not go into a park. We tried Big River Grille twice and were disappointed in the food twice. Our group of 7 ate at Spoodles and everyone liked their food.

There have been quite a few bad reviews of the food there..a friend of my husbands just was there and also said they werent impressed with the food. In my opinion its a good place to go hangout and have a beer or two and maybe snacks but not to eat

We've been twice in the past month or so now, and we absolutely love this restaurant. I've posted about it in some of the other threads about it, but it's shot up to one of our favorites around Disney. The food is of high quality, has a great variety, and the beer is just fantastic.

Service was very good, and we sat outside both times so the atmosphere was great. We'll be returning as soon as we get a chance, hopefully next weekend or the next. I highly recommend it!

Big River is great - we go at least once every trip to WDW. Food is very good, beers are great and service is generally pretty good.

I have eaten there twice. It's nice to eat outside at the patio tables if the weather is good. But inside the restaurant is very diner-like, nothing special.

I don't remember the food being "great"... I had their beer cheese soup bleh!! Not to say that it was bad, but I certainly found out I don't like beer cheese soup haha. I also had a very standard grilled chicken sandwich.
