Here we go again the Brady Bunch from hell. I call us that because we have my kids and his kids and our little one which makes 6. 4 boys and 2 girls in all.. Anyway here is the cast....

MY HUBBY--THE LOVE OF MY LIFE 'LEE'
Not really a Disney Fanatic as me but trying to convert him. He just likes to relax on vacation, no hussle and bussle-going from park to park and restaurant to restaurant. So we have to compensate for him and have some vacations of doing nothing and the others are split of half Disney Craziness and half Disney Relaxation.

OLDEST STEPSON 'BRANDON' HE WILL BE 24 IN APRIL.
Hoping he can go with us this year but his status at work is still under a temp service and therefore he does not get the vacation bennies. He lives in Kentucky and if he can go he will probably fly down as we are driving and we will pick him up from the airport.

MIDDLE STEPSON 'JUSTIN'. HE WILL BE 21 IN JUNE.
He is autistic. He is everybody's buddy, fun loving, loves video games and movies and of course MICKEY MOUSE.

YOUNGEST STEPSON 'THOMAS'. HE WILL BE 19 IN JULY.
He is the real hard head of the bunch, don't think he will live to be 19. Thinks he knows everything (I guess we all did to a certain extent at that age).

MY OLDEST 'CHRIS'.
Loves Disney and pin trading just as much as I do. He is probably the only other Fanatic of Disney in this group. Loves Video games, VMK, and is a Mathmatics wiz.....

MY DAUGHTER 'ALLY'.
This is another hard head. If she thinks she is going to get in trouble, she immediately develops amnesia... Loves the Disney Princesses, Pooh and Hannah Montana.

AND THIS IS OUR DAUGHTER... 'ANNA'.
Stubborn and loves the wiggles... she calls them 'GIGGLES'.

FINALLY THERE IS ME 'KAT'..
Definite Disney Fanatic, love anything Disney. Most of my wardrob consists of Disney Shirts (T-shirts, Polo Shirts, Tank Tops, Sweat Shirts--you get the idea). Also now a college student, yes I have gone back to school to finish up my degree, which explains why I have not been up here in a while--NO TIME. But now the time is getting closer (less than a year a way--yayayayay!!!)


Well here we go to give a little background, if you don't already know me. I have been a DVC member since 1997..Home Resort is Boardwalk. Also own at Vero Beach as well. First trip to Disney was in 1988 and have been hooked ever since. Growing up my parents always tried to save up money to take us (me and my brother) to Disney World but something always came up that emptied the savings jar-like my braces when I was 12. But finally after I graduated from High School, my boyfriend(at the time--now ex-husband) and I decided to try to go and we set up with a local travel agency the trip we wanted and we were allowed to make payments as long as it was paid in full 60 days before departure. In October 1988 we went to Disney World. Next trip would not be until 1997, which was the year we also purchased DVC and have been going just about every year since sometimes more than once in a year. Also have been on 3 Disney Cruise Vacations, the 3 day, the 7 day western and the 7 day eastern.

Now as you all that have read my past reports may or may not know, it is fun having a road trip with this crew. So once again we will be driving the 13+ hour drive south. Now as long as we can do this in the middle of the night it is not so bad. The girls fall asleep by about 10pm and the boys don't fight over stuff. Just picture this --- wide range of ages, girls being the youngest...nobody can agree to the same things to watch on the dvd in the truck....(We have a Ford Excursion to fit this crew). Especially with the little one...(Put the wiggles in and they all complain)... Nobody can agree on the same things to eat... ("I want McDonalds, I want BurgerKing, I want IHOP, Im not hungry) Same thing with temperature in the truck "I'M HOT" ..... "I'M COLD" It's like living with the 6 bears ... Then cramb all of this into a vehicle ....... Like I've said "BRADY BUNCH FROM HELL!!!!!!!!"


Anyway, If you are familiar with DVC .... 11 month window for reservation at Home Resort, etc... So, I try to poll the crew and get votes where they would like to stay. 11 month window was end of January.....RIGHT.. So It took me three to four days to poll and I hate not getting direct answers, so I gave options to help.... 2 BR Boardwalk with Boardwalk View----2BR Savanna View at Animal Kingdom Villas or 3BR Grand Villa at Old Key West..
Home resort is Boardwalk, so that is the only place I could make a ressie at this point. I got one "I'm torn between Boardwalk and Animal Kingdom", one "3Bedroom....3Bedroom... Yeah Old Key West"... The others "It don't matter"... So I finally said "OK I will make the Ressie at Boardwalk for now and then we can change it at 7month window.. Went to make ressie... "We have NO 2BR what so ever. You can book 2 1BR units..." With this crew you've got to be kidding.. I can't believe they are already booked... But yeah I guess right after Christmas and all...I'll conceed... So put me on the waiting list and if I don't get them most of the way filled, then we will decide at the 7 month window what to do. So this is where we stand on this right now. I will keep you abreast if any opens up... In the mean time we have other votes to set it place...

It's amazing---I get to write about the DIS in a college class I am taking.
Yes I have gone back to college to complete my degree, that I started umpteen million years ago (DON'T GO THERE)... Anyway I am taking Organizational Communications and one of my assignments is to write about one on my favorite websites and how well it is organized and communicates to me the information I am looking for... So of course I had to choose the DIS... hands down.. Immediately when my professor gave us the assignment that was of course the first thing that came to mind. And my second thought was wow I love this class... Oh yeah...I also have to do an oral presentation and show the website on the overhead.. Oral Presentations YUCK!!! But it will help me get through it being I get to talk about my most favorite thing (NOT JUST WEBSITE) in the world....

Anyway to get on with the rest.. I am patiently (well not so patiently) waiting on the waiting list for Boardwalk.. It's only been a week and a half.. to early to hear anything huh? I know but I just want to make sure ... We are still 10 and 1/2 months away from the trip...no time to panic...

I still have much planning to do and that will be a difficult task to fit everything (planning) around homework and studying for exams, but I plan to work on most of the planning stages during the summer when my course load will be light.. I still plan on taking classes during the summer but it will be a lighter load... I am on the fast track to finish my degree.

I took a 3 week cramb session during winter break.....a 3 credit course in 3 weeks.. Oh what fun... Got an A though.. YAY

Well I have some other planning that I will inform everyone about in the next few weeks... but I will give a hint.. We are not planning to stay at Boardwalk the whole trip...

It has been a little while since I posted anything. Mainly because nothing in the trip planning stages has really changed. I am still on the waiting list for BWV and still have almost another 2 months before I can try another resort. I have made my room ressies for All Star Movies, so that is all set and paid for. We will be staying there the first 2 nights being they are weekend nights and points are the highest then especially since we are going during the highest point season.... I'M AT DVC'S POINT SYSTEM MERCY

Another reason is of course me going back to college also has taken up quite a bit of my time. BUT MAIN REASON.......

A few weeks ago I nearly cut my finger off..... KITCHEN MISHAP.... and have been going back and forth to doctor and a hand surgeon..

And I know the first thing that comes to everyone's mind is a knife right???

WRONG............ a sugar dish....

OK well here we go...

I got up one morning...normal morning---rushing around trying to get everything together for the kids... This was my day off though so I was good. My husband takes our Autistic son to school every morning and this morning was no different...

My husband fixed my 19 month old an EGGO and she was eating and I fixed my husband his coffee. I had the sugar dish and put sugar in his coffee and he went out the door. I was getting ready to put the sugar dish up when in comes my 19th month old with her EMPTY plate saying "more, more"...

Sorry guys.. Finals just been kicking my butt.. I am finally done with Spring Semester so I will be very attentive now (for the next 3 weeks anyway, until summer semester).

Well, now I am on the waiting list for Boardwalk… I really want the Boardwalk View but at this point I will take any 2bedroom I guess.. I hate it when I am indecisive and so does Lee…. I guess when the 7 month window gets here, I will make the final decision then. I am still torn myself of where I would like to stay. Boardwalk with BW view would be great for FIREWORKS.. The savanna view at Animal Kingdom villas would also be fantastic… Now the 3 Bedroom at Old Key West would be great if Brandon is able to come, but I think without him and his friend (he is thinking about bringing one of his best friends from high school… He moved out to Kentucky, too. ) it would kind of be overkill…I also like Villas at Wilderness Lodge.

On with the finger story…..​

Anyway, Anna comes in to the kitchen wanting another waffle (EGGO). So I had the sugar dish in my hand and instead of finish putting it away I go over to the refrigerator and put the sugar dish on top of the refrigerator. I then go to open the freezer door to get the box of EGGOs out of the freezer. Evidently I did not push the sugar dish back far enough because down comes the sugar dish between the open freezer and freezer door. Without a thought I go to catch it.

Now keep in mind this dish that I use for sugar, is important. It is part of a set. It is very thick milk glass (you ladies may know what milk glass is and if not, it is a collectible glass worth more than regular. If you hold it up to light you can see a gold ring around the lid; which signifies it as milk glass), and kind of old. My mother had given me this canister set 15 years ago when I moved into my first home, and they were already old then. I just liked them and she knew it so she gave them to me. Now also keep in mind at this point I only have 2 of the 3 left because I broke one about 8 years ago when a shelf I use to keep them on in the kitchen in the house I was in at that time had given way for some odd reason and it fell and broke.

So any way, I go to catch this thick glass canister and it bounces off the refrigerator door which is closed of course, and breaks in mid air as I am trying to catch it.
COMING UP…..The cut or hack actually. Calling the husband. The Urgent Care (Nope). The Hospital.

You made me remember a horrible dating nightmare. When DH and I were first dating he was over at my house. My mother always put the deep fryer full of grease on the fridge. Well, this one time she didn't push it all the way on, so when I opened the freeze door, the whole deep fryer of cold grease landed on my head. Took about 5 shampoos to get it out of my hair. DH still laughs about it, surprised he married me.

Sorry to hear you broke one of your dishes though. Have you searched the web to see if you can replace it?

Good thing it wasn't hot grease. That would have been real ugly. Hope she has gotten out of the habit of doing that now. That reminds me of a puppy we found once. We brought him home, he was a little dark brown fur ball and we thought he was some kind of chow mix, but he was dirty. We had to use dawn dishwashing liquid to get all the road grease and grime out of his fur and it took 3-4 baths before he was clean and when we finished he was a grey and white fur ball. Pure Husky and beautiful. We put up signs but no one ever claimed him. He is 11 years old now, but my ex-husband has him. You know I hadn't thought about looking for replacements, I still have 1 left. I'm sure they will be difficult to find, but I might look for curiousity if nothing else. I'll let you know.

After hanging up the phone with my husband, I then call my mother to try to keep some sanity to myself and not be so hysterical. So she talks to me until Lee gets home. In there somewhere I catch enough sanity to run my hand under cold water and wash the blood away and try to get it to clot (and mainly to check and see if my finger is still there). And yes my finger tip was there but it was ugly. It did a nice job of a cut that is for sure. Anyway my husband gets home and we decide to go to the urgent care which is about 4 miles in one direction, the hospital is about 6-8 miles in the other direction. So if wrong choice is made with urgent car we got to go 10 miles back the other way…. So I had my finger (hand) wrapped in a wash cloth and towel and my husband gets shoes on our daughter and we go out the door.
So we get to the Urgent Care and they take me right in. The nurse takes one look and says,” I need the doctor to look at it. We may not be able to handle that here. You will have to go to the Emergency Room.” The doctor then comes over and looks and says, “That is pretty bad. I suggest you go to the Emergency Room. I could stitch it up but it looks like you have damaged your nerves and we can’t do that here. But it is your decision; if you want I can go ahead and stitch it.” So we decided to go to the Emergency Room.

OK I am non to Happy right now

I called today, thinking it is the first day of the 7 month window and I can check what else is available since I haven't gotten any response off my wait list for Boardwalk. Well first I am a day early, 7 month window for me starts tomorrow. Then I asked her to check my wait list. Good thing I did. Nothing.... "Sorry Maam but we do not show a wait list for you for week of 12/28 at all." WHAT HAPPENED TO IT..... I even have the email from member services that stated I was put on the wait list for those dates. Now I feel like all this time is just wasted. Guess I should have checked on it everyday. I just assumed it was good and if any days come through I would receive something in the mail. So I haven't even checked on it for a couple of months. They need to really show active wait lists online so that you can view them and check on them everyday without calling in and waiting.
Like this morning when I called, "We have unusually high volume, your wait time 9 minutes." I finally get through to have my battery on my phone die without warning, before I get very far. She just got into the account and hadn't said much yet. Then I call back to have to wait 5 more minutes to find out my wait list for BW is not there. WAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH....
