:banana::woohoo:

DUDE! What is this upper/lower deck thing you speak of? Am I on top (with potential peeing rights) or an umbrella-toting tool? (bottom deck)? Where do I find out where my wave starts. My bib is 42**** so I'm in the first wave, last corral (mooooo).

You put 5 hours down for finishing time? Wow, I dunno how you got put so far back...apparently we're pretty dang slow compared to the rest of NYC :confused3.

Of course I'll wait for you.... Do you think they'll accept a pillow with my "check in" bag? ;) No seriously, it's not like I'm going to be running real fast. I'll be @ the finish line with my beer waiting!popcorn::

I'm 38*** (why are we hiding the last 3 digits?). My friend told me about getting peed on while running on the lower deck. ow do we know which deck we are running on?

I also heard they have the world's biggest urinal at the start. I was told they have this huge piece of PVC pipe with a slit down the middle that drains right into a truck. Can't wait to use it!

Ran 4 yesterday but felt like carp. My feet are messed up now as well. I think I'll bag the rest of this week and try to make it to LBI in one piece.

Lou

ME, TOO!!:woohoo::yay:

Go easy on those weary dogs & take the rest of the week off for sure. LBI is the last LR, dude! And it's Colleens fault that we're **** our bib numbers....she's SO paranoid (Canadians.....)

I missed all this urination business in the NYC brochure. Who knew?

Should I pee on someone at the start Sunday just for fun?

Wow. I think nearly all of us are running some race or another this weekend.

Good luck to everyone and condolences to those that are not racing.

Oh my, that made me laugh. Isn't every day a pee on someone day in Cleveland?

No race for me this weekend. I think I'll just pee on our new kitten who makes his home in our 2nd bathroom while our older cat gets used to him.

Judy - Just tell Charlie that Howard is taking pot-shots at him and I was trying to defend your poor absentee husband. See, everyone knows that with Howard's bum knee and bad foot a hip check attempt would likely incapacitate him for weeks. I'm really on Charlie's side.

Howard - Ummm... Nevermind.

:lmao::rotfl::laughing::rotfl::laughing::lmao:

Dave - Don't you DARE! Poor kitten... :guilty: (I know you're just kidding. You are, aren't you??)

I need to know what you NYC guys are wearing so I can watch for you. :woohoo: :yay:  :yay: :woohoo:

Jodith - Yes, mam, I am training for a Half. Or something.

What is this urinal you all speak of? Oh yes, that would be the Hudson River... :rolleyes1

Hello Bots!

Exciting, exciting. Marathon season is starting. Good luck everyone racing this weekend.

NYC Marathon types Very interesting about all of the peeing. Is this why so many people at NY have garbage bags on to start the race? If something does drip on you, you can just pretend that it is lime gatorade. This makes me actually want to sign up for NY next year. The world's largest urinal. woo hoo!

Lou Definitely take it easy and rest up. Sounds like your training has been going great, no need to risk it by getting injured.

Dave I saw the pictures of your new kitten on facebook. Very cute. I also listened to your interview on the podcast. Cool.

As for me, I'm busy stressing about Baltimore. Things I have been thinking about ALL WEEK LONG:

1) What is the weather going to be like. Now that I have an iphone I can easily check Saturday's weather in Baltimore 20x per day where ever I am. Current forcast is low of 54, high of 67 with 30% chance of rain.

2) What shoes I am going to wear. For over a year I have worn Asic Cumulus 10s. My current pair was getting pretty old, though, so two weeks before the race I went in to get another pair, but they have been discontinued. The cumulus 11s I bought are very different and they actually have been making my legs hurt when running in them. So my choice are: old smelly shoes with 350+ miles on them or new shoes that make my legs hurt. I'm going with old shoes.

3) Am I getting sick or not. Everyone at work has been coming down with colds and the flu. I've been taking vitamin C like crazy and trying not to breath more than necessary at work.

4) Whether to register for the full or the half in Richmond. I ended up signing up for the full thinking "it will be nice to have a backup race in case Baltimore doesn't go well" or "if Baltimore goes well I will try to run even faster in Richmond".

Anyway, I've only 2 more days to stress out. Too bad you all decided to skip out on Baltimore. More crab soup and beer for me and Cindy :-)

Lou and Jodi, that's great we will all be in the green village!:thumbsup2 So, I was suppose to catch the 5:30 a.m. ferry and my wave doesn't start until 10:20, I would have been a LONG time to hang around before the marathon. I thought Disney was a long process.

Matt good luck with the marathon!!

Mike and Kathy, have a great half! Jeff says to practice drinking out of those cups on the run.

Jodi, is your half this weekend too?

Just got back from registering for the Hartford 1/2. What a lame-as* expo :rotfl::confused3

Green Village BOTS!!! That's great. Lou, when's your ferry :tinker: scheduled for? Mine is for 7 a.m. - Colleen, you're coming with me, right? I mean, 5:30 a.m.? Just tell them you had the Hersheysquirts @ 5:30 & weren't sure you were going to make it....:scared1:;). Lou, RU sticking around after the race for some serious :drinking1? popcorn::

Mindy - Good luck to you guys tomorrow! I WISH I could be there drinking & eating crabs (just not running).

Mike & Kathy - Have fun towing stuff...what, that joke's done?

Oh, and all of you running RFTT - have fun....I hope Chester doesn't bring the rain like last time!:rolleyes1

The Toe Jam marathon, a.k.a. The Towpath Marathon, is this Sunday. Kathy and I are both running the half. My sister and BIL are doing the 10K, their first race so that should be fun.

Nevermind.

All this "Pee Talk" has me... :rotfl::rotfl2: I think I can probably pee into a Tea Cup this weekend, but not while it's spinning! Actually the RFTT doesn't go through the Magic Kingdom. :sad2: I think I'd pay to see Jodi (or Colleen!) using the trough system in NYC. :rolleyes1 Being peed on from the upper deck doesn't sound appetizing at all. Stay in the middle lane and hope for calm winds! :thumbsup2

Mike~ I may have a bum knee, but my foot is feeling just fine...no worries there. The knee is still a slight bit tender from last Sunday's romp in Ridgefield and I haven't run on it this week. I need to find those knee (MCL) stretching exercises from my doctor. I will be following the recommendations between the RFTT and MCM. I want to get to the Marine Corps Marathon in one piece and ready to rumble. :woohoo: :thumbsup2 Best of luck to you and your lovely bride with the Toe Thingy Half this weekend. I hope you have great weather!

BEST OF LUCK TO ALL THE BOTS RUNNING IN ORGANIZED and NOT SO ORGANIZED RACES THIS WEEKEND!

Jen ~ I'll see you soon! Safe travels tomorrow! We fly out at 5:15 pm tonight, staying at Beach Club Villas.

Lou~ Have a great run at LBI and take it easy before hand.

Matt & Cindy~ Enjoy the race and the Crab Soup and brews!

Chester~ I'm looking forward to seeing you soon! Safe travels to WDW.

Jodi~ You are way too funny. :lmao: I ran near a gal up in Ridgefield that reminded me of you. She was smiling a lot while she ran.

Everyone else!!!

:grouphug:

What is wrong with me if I find this totally offensive, but yet hilarious at the same time??:confused3

Jodi - I'm on the 7AM ferry with you! We can pee off the side of the ferry on the way to Staten Island! :scared1: I'm sure I'll hang around after the race. Where are we going for beers? I need to work on a game plan for after the race. I guess it's time for me to start taking this NYC marathon thing seriously.

I'm as ready for LBI as I'll ever be. 18 lame a$@ miles into the wind should prep me for NYC. The crazy part is that I enjoy this race.

Hey BOTS!!!

LOu

Good Morning Everyone: I'm heading out for a LR this morning. Planning 9 miles in a gray, cold drizzle - yippee... :cool1: uugh, my mood this morning matches the weather. Hopefully the run will do me good.

ETA: Howdy everyone, I did 9, slow, steady miles today in 95 min (~10:30mpm). I walked every two miles, and was in no hurry. While my lower leg still hurt, it was the best I've felt for a while. It was nice to get a long run in. I didn't even get that wet. Wish everyone well in the races this weekend.

Hi Bots!
A number of you posted on my wall about the race, so I figured I would update everyone here. I ran the half. I didn't expect, nor even try, to have a fast race. I believe my official time was 2:05 or 2:06. Matt did not have a good race, I'll let him give his story later. After the race, we went out for some seafood and are now resting and intend to go to Howl at the Moon (same idea as Jellyrolls) later tonight.

Sorry for the all about me post, I'll catch up with everyone later. I hope everyone who ran today had a great race or run and best of luck to those running tomorrow

Cindy - Sounds like you had a great race...sorry Matt's wasn't so hot. Just drink beer & eat seafood...it's all good.

Lou - I mean, @ this point I feel like I just gotta pee off of a bridge or a ferry or something...otherwise I'm not getting the full NYC Marathon experience!:lmao:. After the race? Um...hopefully there are beer vendors in Central Park ! Otherwise we'll head back to our room, shower & hit the bar, food, post race party @ the Hammerstein Ballroom. I'm game for anything!

Dave - Excellent job on that 9 miles!! Good for you!:woohoo: Have fun @ the show tonight.

Mike - How'd you & your :bride: do?

Hey man, what's with all the flack on the Hersheysquirt-thing....??? You guys have never endured such an incident? Racing marathons can be very stressful, it's a believeable excuse...right, Colleen? Don't worry, I'll tell them for ya.

Hope all you BOTS have fun @ the RFTT tomorrow & that it's not too hot!

Hi Bots, Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Cindy: Congrats on your race. Sorry Matt's race didn't go as he would have liked.

Matt: I hope all your stressing before Baltimore eases up before Richmond. Hope that's a better race for you.

Dave: Great job on the 9 miler. I'm glad it wasn't as bad as you seemed to think it might be.

Lou: Good luck at LBI.

Howard: Best of luck at RFTT. Your pictures of Beach Club Villas were gorgeous.

Jodi: Nice job at the Hartford 1/2.

Colleen: A 5:30 ferry for a 10:20 start sounds a bit much. Hope you are able to change it a bit.

Mike: Good luck to you and Kathy this weekend.

Just 1 week until my marathon. I'm stressing a bit about getting sick. It seems my kids are constantly coughing at me. I wake every morning certain that I have a sore throat and am coming down with another cold. I wonder if it's possible to over dose on echinachea, zinc or vitamin C.
I ran 14 miles on Monday with the middle 10 at marathon pace. It was such a struggle to complete that run. It really made me doubt that I'd be able to maintain that pace for 26.2. I really wish I kept a training log to see if I had similarly tough runs before my last marathons. I'm thinking I probably have. I have 12 easy miles tomorrow then just 2 more runs during the week.

Have a great weekend everyone.
Cindy
