What do 'ya got if you ain't got a BOT? Nuthin!
Hi everyone, I have been lurking until I had something to post. No running or much else here. I did register for the Caesar Rodney Half as I mentioned before, but that is about it with anything associated with running (or exertion of any kind).
I met with Doctor Gruber today, my podiatrist. He poked, prodded, vibrated my toes, took X-rays of both feet and generally did Doctor type stuff. He said a few things:
1. Take the anti-inflammatory for two solid weeks (2x /day). I guess I had been using it only for its pain abatement properties and it never really had a change to anti-inflam anything.

Who knew?
2. He put a compression wrap on my foot in a specific part right behind the toes which is squeezing the front of the plantar thingy. I am to use this all day, every day for two weeks, but take it off while I sleep.
3. He recommended freezing dixie cups of H20 and rubbing then on the area each and every night for two weeks. I'll start that tomorrow.
4. He recommended stretching the toes back with a belt as often as possible (or as much as I can tolerate).
5. He said orthotics are expensive and he doesn't want to go there unless I absolutely need to.
6. My X-rays were delightful, no bone issues such as fractures and no arthritis.
7. My range of motion is limited in the ankle deflection (how much my shin can lean out over the foot/toes) when I rest or run. He said this can cause my running stride to pull on the plantar more than a normal range of motion could.
8. He said I can swim or bike at the gym, no TM or elliptical until further notice.
I see him in two weeks.
I'll keep you posted.
He seemed either impressed or dumbfounded by my half, marathon, marathon, 5K, half, marathon past few months.
Miss you all.... have fun at the CMM!
Howard
