~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Hey Everyone:

Mike- I've had way to many meetings the last couple of weeks, and I'm saturated.

Not much for me to report. I tried to run on the treadmill yesterday because it was rainy and nasty out. Got to the gym, changed, got on the TM, walked a little bit, and could not do any more. I just couldn't stomach running on the TM. So I bagged it. I need to run outside today.

Have a great day everyone.

:banana::yay::dance3:YEEEEEEHAAAAA!! You me & Lou!

You mean....:yay::dance3:YEEEEEEHAAAAA!! You, me, Howard, Charlie & Lou!
Charlie and I signed up for NYC a couple of months ago. We also hedged our bets by signing up for the Marine Corps Marathon in case we are not selected in the lottery.

Mike~ I WISH my boot was a 2 liter!

Hey - there are plenty of nice lawyers! Where's Cam - I need some support here!

Cindy -- I'm flattered!! And in great company with you, sweetie! Yes, I'm a lawyer. And yes, I have a heart. And it works as intended, too! :thumbsup2 (one more reminder to me to say a prayer of thanksgiving for Dr. Berger, "cowboy doctor" extraordinaire).

Miss you all! So glad to know we'll see many of you at events this fall. :grouphug:

Hi all, not much to report, just happy this thread is picking up again!!

Not going to touch Howard's 2 L boot comment.:rolleyes1

Hey Team: I just posted a new blog with the transcript of my interview with Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca :chewy: ) I did for the DIS Unplugged. For those that don't know, Peter played Chewbacca in the Star Wars films, and agreed to be interviewed for Star Wars Weekends. I was also able to include the audio file of my complete conversation with Peter Mayhew. Check it out if you want to hear more than what we were able to include on this week's show.

I'm a nice lawyer too! I even had someone say that I made their weekend (after wondering why someone who works for the government was working on Saturday).

OH STOP! All you lawyers are a bunch of freaks.....

That's why I hang with you :lmao::grouphug:

Howard - Oh yeah, I forgot that you & Charlie signed up for NYC! Wow, this could turn out to be a a serious BOTFEST!! What happens if one of you doesn't get in?

MajorD - I'm running the Iron Horse 1/2 Marathon in Simsbury, CT. I'm thoroughly unprepared. What's new? All I can say is it better be a cool medal :rotfl2:. That last local 1/2 I ran didn't give squat. Well, I did get a tech shirt....but it's cheezy tech.

Mindy - Thanks for the Germanplace address. How's that training plan going? Which one of you is doing what in Baltimore? I know, I know, I've already asked this a jillion times.

Dave - Great job on the interview! Maybe you should wear a Chewbacca costume @ our next race? That is, if you ever get off the dreadmill & run again!:rolleyes1:rotfl:

Sara - Maybe if you ask nice they'll let you start the marathon Saturday night. This way you won't have to worry about the roads opening up on Sunday afternoon.popcorn::

Chester - Collect anymore cats lately? Want a cattle dog to round them up?

Lou - What up?

I've got serious gaseous waste goin' on tonight. Just figured I'd share.

Great idea Jodi:rolleyes1 Not even thinking about Sunday yet:scared1::laughing:

Mike -

Colleen - Congrats on throwing your hat in the NYC lottery ring:yay:

Matt & Cindy - Glad the NYC trip was a blast but you know you're killing me with the rib joints:lmao:

Dave - Congrats on the Chewy interview:thumbsup2

Howard - Hope the foot's well:wizard:.

DL was great and we're back in Carlsbad until Saturday. We'll move down to SD then and I'll hit the expo and figure out how I'm feeling about Sunday:hippie:

Worst case scenario, I'll catch you all on Monday night once I'm back in NY:grouphug:.

Jodi~ I am not sure if Charlie and I don't get in together. I don't think we thought that far ahead or that either of us would get in the first go around. The idea is to wait for the lottery and hope we get drawn together.

I actually went out tonight to get some running/jogging/walking in. Here is how it went:

Miles: 4.0
Time: 45:21
Pace: 11:21
Splits: 10:50, 11:57, 11:35 and 11:00

I took it easy and tried my best to shuffle and keep the major impacts from my left foot. I was pretty successful. I covered a hilly course and had to take it easy overall, especially on the downhills. I am sorely out of shape but this is just the beginning. I am not back yet, I'm just getting started.

I think I've decided to run the Philadelphia Distance Run again this year. I need something to work towards before the MCM. I PR'ed it last year and hope to perform well again this year.

Good Luck Sara!!!:cool1::banana::yay::woohoo::cheer2:

Happy Friday! Have a great weekend!

All is right with the world again. Howard is posting numbers.

Sara - Enjoy your last few days of vacation. Good luck this weekend.

Jodi - Thanks for sharing! BTW, I had 3 runs interrupted last week due to Jodi-stops. You should be very proud. Good luck at the Aluminium Pony.

Dave - Pretty cool interview. You are hob-nobbing with the celebs now, aren't you!

Colleen - Are you trying to stir something up? Of course, I have no idea what y'all are talking about.:confused3

Cam - :wave2:

Megan - Nice job making someone's weekend. Keep up the good work.

Hey Everyone: OK, I ran outside yesterday. It was the JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge here in Rochester. The largest race in our area. There were 9,000 runners for a 3.5 mile race on a Thursday night. Everyone has to run with a team from work, and I was part of the SUNY/Geneseo contingent. It was raining, and that's an understatement. We're talking downpour of Biblical proportions. I've never run in a downpour like that before. It was amazing. That being said, I felt really strong during the run and covered the 3.5 mile distance in 28:33 min (8:09 mpm). I think I could have even gone sub-8 mpm except the beginning of the run was so crowded.

I apologize for the all-about me post, but I promise to check in with everyone else soon. All my best,

Dave

So how many Bots are considering the Expedition Everest Challenge? Jodi? Colleen? Cindy? I'm thinking about it again especially since it's free dining.

When is this again? Fall is not a good time for the family. It takes us a good month to get back into the school/music/swimming/etc. routine and it would be hard for me to get away.

Last weekend in September, the 26th I think.

Dave - Great interview with Peter Mayhew. Yes, I was a Star Wars geek too. I still have my old Star Wars cards. I need to plan a trip to WDW for Stars Wars Weekend one of these years. Disney needs to create a Star Wars race.

Megan, Cindy, Cam - Nice to know there are 3 nice lawyers in the world. :-)

Jodi - Sorry about your gaseous issues (eating too many dog treats?). Love the dog pics on FB. If only Mike could have enjoyed them with all of us.

Sara - Glad you guys are enjoying Cali. What do you guys have planned in SD...besides 26.2 miles? Good luck Sunday!

Howard - The boot is off and your running again. In the words of LL Cool J...don't call it a come back!

Hey Mike, Colleen, CindyLou, Jen, and any BOTs I may have omittied.

Business has been pretty intense and I expect it won't get any easier for the rest of 2009, until I start to learn to delegate. The good news is I have a decent amount of work.

For those non-FB people I ran 14 miles this AM for no reason at at. It's a beautiful day here in NJ. I'll be heading to the Phillies game this afternoon to celebrate the 40th b-day of an old friend today. When I say old, he and I have been friends since we were 3 years old.

Lou
