~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

I'm here, just crazy busy and I hate posting when I don't have time to reply to everyone:sad2:

I did run this weekend - good 7 on Sat, terrible 13 on Sun. Bagged yesterday's run. Trying to get out there this morning . . .

Have a great day all!

Good Morning Everyone: Whew, OK, I've been recovering from a very exciting and busy weekend. DD7 pooh:, DD10 princess:, and I flew down to Disney on Friday and checked into the Swan. Saturday we had a tour of the Give Kids the World Village which is an amazing place and organization. Then we met the DIS Unplugged crew at Mousefest. Back to the Swan to rest and nap, the girls had to have a swim in the pool even though it was only 60 degrees (I stayed in the hot tub). Took the boat over to Hollywood Studios, and had dinner at the Brown Derby around 5:00p - rode Star Tours, toured One Man's Dream (which both the girls and I love), and then checked out the Osborne Family Lights. Between 8:30 and 9:00p we checked into the Toy Story Mania party and stayed at Pixar Street and TSM for the party until midnight. At midnight we left Hollywood Studios and walked back to the Swan. Sunday we slept in, packed, had breakfast at Cape May in the Beach Club (sat next to the family from Hades), and then flew home. What a fun weekend.

Monday I took a rest day because I was too exhausted to run. Yesterday I did a short 3 miler on the treadmill. It's gettin' cold here, and I woke up this morning to tons of snow.

Cindy- Did you make it out this morning? Great job getting your mileage in. This is a hard time to run, isn't it? There's so much going on. Give my best to Matt.

Sara- Give Maggie a hug for me. Wow, 2 for 1 Mary Poppins tix, I've been itching to go to a Disney Broadway show. Do they have that deal for the Little Mermaid too (or just Mary Poppins)? How was everything with the ice storm on your side of the state? I'm tempted to come down and play with everyone. I really need to think about it though...

Jodi- Take care of your foot. Thanks for signing us up for RtB Relay. Let me know what I owe you as well. Give my best to the Cloud.

Lou- Did you find anything to train for yet? I remember you saying you need to have a race on your schedule. I kind of feel the same way. I've been blowing off lots of running lately.

Howard- How's the PF treating you? Sounds like you are still getting the miles in though.

Jen- How'd the 20 miler go? Just think of the cookies and brownies as carboloading.

Cam- I'm so glad you're posting over here. It's great to hear from you. Sounds like you are doing some major training. Keep up the good work!

Chester- Great job on the naked, caveman run!

OK, I gotta get ready for work. Take care everyone!

Good morning everyone. I did manage a slow, painful 20 miles last night on the TM. It was beyond "Gone with the Wind", more like a documentary on Walt Disney, 2 CSIs and Law and Order (with out commercials....). I'm a bit sore today but still walking. I was a bit disappointed in myself that my the end my W/R intervals became largely walk but I was able to finish in about 4hrs 20min, not quite Howard's time but it will get me there :confused3

Sara: personally there is nothing like snuggling with a soft, warm puppy as long as both of you get some sleep :rolleyes1

Dave: your weekend sounds great, it makes me even more excited to go down in Jan. Ice storms..:scared1: I'm glad all we had was rain with only the occasional sleet yesterday

Cindy: great job on the miles, is it easier now that Matt is home?

Lou and Sara: I took my DD5 to Mary Poppins last year. She loves the movie so I thought this would be perfect. I have one warning for you-- the show is very different from the movie. It was well done but there was one sort of creepy scene where the kids toys put them on trial for being mean to toys, there was also this strange "evil nanny" character. As long as you and the kids don't mind the differences it was a fun show but we spent quite a while getting over the creep factor of the trial scene.

Thanks for letting me know:hug: Actually, we haven't seen the movie so we won't know the differences:laughing: . We've already seen The Lion King and Tarzan so hoping this is on par with those. Agreed about the puppy:lovestruc

Dave - They do have The Little Mermaid as well. Check on Mousesavers for details. The only weekend dates were Mary Poppins so that's what I went with due to work and school. We can do it in a day:thumbsup2 We got mostly snow:mad: , are getting snow today and are looking to get dumped on Friday as well:headache: . Isn't sunny Florida looking more and more appealing for you next month:confused3 ;)

Jodi - Thanks for coughing up the RTB cash:banana: . I'll enclose a check in your holiday card:thumbsup2

Whoa! Whoa! Everyone! NO MONEY NEEDED! (I mean, you can send me some if you want). I signed us up as team. We could pay now, but, um, why would we do that? I guess to "reserve a spot". Right now it's just in the beginning stages. There will be a place on-line on the site itself for each team member to sign up as time goes on (or something like that  ). You can tell I've really jumped into this thing with both feet, huh?:rolleyes1 . Right now I'm sorta treating it like my training...you get the idea. I DO know that the entry fee is $1080 :headache: . Ya'll do the math. The more the better, pocket-book-wise. Given my due diligence to everything running related (practically non-existent) I feel the more eyes on this website the better. As it is I've probably already missed some crucial deadline :scared1: :sad2: .

OK, just re-read the email I got from RTB. Here's the dilly-o;

We're "registered" but our slots not guaranteed until they receive our registration fee, which is $1020, not $1080 (phew, that's much better  ). Runners (members of the team) can visit the site & start signing up on March first.

So, we can pay now & reserve our spot, or wait 'til the team's more solidified & pay then (read: after the holidays).

I'm game for whatever anyone else wants to do. It looks like definite participants are:

Jodi
Cloud
Sara
Dave
Lou
Steve

The rest of you are non-committal bung-holes! :dance3:

Sara - Love your puppy stories, they are exhausting, aren't they? Can't wait to hear about the poooopy stories popcorn:: . Hope your DDs have fun in the City today & watching Disney characters skate (hopefully one will wipeout!:woohoo: ).

Dave - Glad to hear you had fun, waiting for the full report!

Jen - :worship: :worship: 20 dreadmill miles is really like 40 miles! GREAT JOB :thumbsup2 .

Jodi:

I'd be interested in joining the team for RTB. Let me know if it's open to non-BOTs.

Thanks.
The OC (other Cindy)

Hey Everyone, :surfweb: just checking in while I'm waking up this morning. Not much to report from yesterday. I did 3 miles on the TM. Just keep on keepin' on...

Non-Commital Bung-Hole Here,

Just a quick check in before I attempt to get some things accomplished around the house.

I've managed to get a few miles in this week. 7 or 8 on Monday, 6 on Tuesday for my first TM run of the season (yuk!), and 6+ tempo last night.

Rest day today and 16 on tap for tomorrow.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Howard - Have fun in the World.

Non-Commital Bung-Hole Here

Hey man, if the hole applies....All done Christmas shopping? I was thinking that you could nominate Kathy for Sainthood or something, as that would be the only gift that could suffice for dealing with one such as you :rolleyes1 . 16 tomorrow? Good luck :worship: .

Dave - Nice job on the 3! How goes it, bud?

Howard - Hope you have a splendid time in the World & that the snow doesn't interfere with flights :scared1: .

CindyLouNew - Just think of me as that little old lady in "Poltergeist". "All are welcome...all are welcome". It'll be great & you will soon be an honorary BOT!

Will run today a little & hope to run tomorrow a.m. before the onslaught of white crap from the sky.:yay:

Hi Jodi :wave2: things are going well. How about with you? I'm still basking in the glow of my fun weekend with the girls last week. It was really nice to have some Daddy time with them. We had a lot of fun.

Hey I wanted to ask you something about NYC. I was looking into those tickets to Mary Poppins in February. However, hotels are outrageous. Do you have any suggestions? Is it better to stay somewhere outside of the city? If so, where?

"Coming up for air Bot", reporting in...

Crazy busy around here, still recovering from DD's swim meet. She did well, she bettered her time in 6/8 races and finished top 20 in 3 of her races. I think 17th place was her best finish. She did pretty well!:thumbsup2 It was funny to see some little 9 year old girls look like they were 15 years old, they were buff :worship: and a lot of the top 10 girls were wearing high performance suits. You could tell they (and their parents) are very serious about the sport!

My training isn't happening. I got 8 miles in the last 9 days.:rolleyes1

I will try and get back later today to respond to you all. Off to tutor.:)

What are the dates? Is it during Feb. vacation or something?
Let me know the exact dates you're looking at & I can poke around for you.

Yes, it's the last weekend of Feb vacation. I'm looking at Saturday, Feb 21st and I need to go to the 8pm show to use the B1G1 ticket deal.

That's break week for our kids so prices may be high. I was looking at the Doubletree Suites in Times Square for $245/night with AAA rate but it's not available for 2/21. NYC Hotel rates are always hard to swallow:scared1: . I hope Jodi's got some insider info for you:thumbsup2

So are you staying overnight too? When are you going Sara? I figured we had the same break week.
