~The BOT Battalion~ BOTS On The Run

Howard - Is Baltimore the same weekend as Ridgefield?

Jodi~ It is October 10, 2009 (the next weekend).

No news on the foot. I am wearing the air cast faithfully in the hopes that this goes away quickly.

I'll keep everyone updated as much as possible, but not try to bore you to tears.

Colleen~ You go right on being a hot swim-mom on the edge.:rolleyes1

I could but.....I don't think I will have the cash to spare. Trying to make sure that I have the funds to make it to Honolulu in December. Also, they laid off another guy at work. We now just have 2 Architects and 1 draftsman and 1 planner left in our department. There is a very good chance that I'm next on the hit list.:scared1:

Chester
Chester, I wanted to wish you all the best. I hope everything works out with your job. Hang in there.

Lou, I say this same quote this past weekend at the swim meet.:rotfl:
Now if it would have been "I say dis same quote dis past weekend at de hockey game" it could have been one of my French Canadian Habitant relatives.

Yes, you did see a Goofy siggie for Kathy. She took the leap.

Jodi - 3:30:59 - not that I'm paying attention or anything.

Lou - Feel better soon.

Chester - Thank God you have your stock market investments to fall back on.:rolleyes1

Hey everyone: I've had a good week of running so far. I ran Mon, Tues, and Wed. Monday I ran 4 miles at a sub 8mpm pace! :thumbsup2 Yesterday I rested, today I'll run, and I'll try for another double digit run on Saturday.

I've been swamped with work. I'm serving on a grant review panel for the National Science Foundation. They give you a stack of grants to review and 2 weeks to do it. I have to travel to Arlington, VA on Sunday, and I'll be there Mon --> Wed. My schedule's pretty tight, but I might have time to get together for dinner if any of you DC people want to.

Good luck to all of you running in the National Marathon this weekend. OK, back to the grants.

Good luck, Mike!
Good luck, Cindy!!

Mike -- Please tell Kathy I am so stinkin' impressed!!! Tell her I will scream team for her for the full!!

Jodi -- I am so happy that we share a passion for post-race carbs. Otherwise, I have nothing in common with your running talent! :worship:

So, who is coming to DE in May? Not to be a nudge or anything. ;)

Checking in, BOTS

Good Luck to Cindy & Mike tomorrow!! REPRESENT!:yay:

Cam - I'm not sure about DE in May, it's a busy month for me, class trip to D.C., The Cloud's birthday, Memorial Day parades, etc. Dangling that lasagna in front of me isn't really fair, ya know!

I ran 3 miles today & it felt like 10. Great.

HEY BOTS

Let's not forget to support our boy Dave in his venture to raise money for Give Kids The World!!

Click on the line about muscles & stuff under his signature & give what you can!:grouphug:

Hi Cam, thanks so much for the invitation. As much as I'd love to be there, we can't make it. I'm still holding out hope to run in Pittsburgh on May 3rd (I'm on the wait list), and then I'm running the Muddy Buddy the following weekend on May 9th. There's no way I can do three races in three weeks. I really appreciate the invitation though. You are so generous.

Awww, thanks Jodi. I appreciate the shout out. If anyone wants more information about Give Kids the World (GKTW), I can give you more than you probably ever wanted.

Hey Everyone: Just back from my long run. I did about 12 miles today, and felt great. Hope all of you running today in the National Marathon have a great run.

I'm back, I survived, and it wasn't as horrible as I imagined it could have been. I didn't push myself too hard because (given my lack of running) I honestly didn't have a good assessment of what kind of shape I was in and was a bit nervous of pushing too hard and then totally falling apart. I finished in 2:05 and change (according to my watch). I'm happy with that at this point.

This definitely motivates me to train now. I don't like running a race and not being able to even try for a PR.

We had a nice morning and got to see both Kathy and Mike. Matt and I did see Mike finish, but I'll let him report in for himself.

I'll be back later to catch up on the thread/give more details.

Cindy - Nice job! You see, it wasn't that bad. It's the first race of the year. How'd Matt do?

Dave - Nice job on the 12 miles!

Mike - Check in with a race report when you are feeling up to it. Want to hear how you made out.

Got in 8 miles this am at 8:52mpm pace. Felt real good the whole time. Looking forward to the Ocean Drive 10-miler next weekend. This is will be a good test for how fast I will run at Broad St.

Hey all you other BOTS!

Lou

Good afternoon all,

It was great to see Cindy and Matt and I really appreciate them sticking around in the cold to see me finish.

Long story short, I PR'd with a watch time of 3:32. Just a tad shy of BQ but I can't complain about that. The 2 minute Jodi-stop at mile 17, the rolly-polly last 4 miles, and the extra 0.32 miles run all did me in.

I'm all clean and sweet smelling now and am off to get a few hours of sleep. Someone has to work tonight.:scared1:

WTG Mike and Cindy:worship: :worship: :worship: You both should be very proud:cloud9:

Lou - Great time on the LR:banana: Best of luck next weekend:yay:

Dave - Nice job on the 12 miles feeling great:cheer2:

Chester - Keeping you in my prayers:hug: Hope you and yours are well:thumbsup2

Howard - How's the foot feelingpopcorn:: ?

Kathy - If you're lurking, I am also :worship: envious of your Goofy ambitions for 2010:cheer2: If you're not, I'm hoping Mike will pass the sentiment along:rolleyes:

Ran/walked for an hour today with my doggie and will DEFINITELY get in a respectable LR on my own tomorrow afternoon:hippie:

Mike: nice job on you race :cool1: :cool1: I can't even imagine being that fast-- all you need now is a nice flat course and Boston in in your pocket :woohoo:

Cindy: 2:05 is not too shabby, Great job:thumbsup2

Chester: good luck with your job situation, we're thinking of you

We will try to get out at cheer for you guys at the Muddy Buddy as we will be in Disney that week.

MIKE - WOW, now that's an impressive time!!:thumbsup2 Good for you, dude. There's no doubt in my mind now, Boston, here you come!!! :woohoo:

CINDY - Nice time! Um, didn't I tell you that less is more? See? You didn't train too much & a 2:05 1/2 is no big deal for you. That's great :yay: . Isn't it a nice feeling just to be able to go out & run 13.1 miles just like that?

Dave - Man, 12 miles? Looks like this Muddy Buddy has gotten you quite motivated. That's great.

Lou - 8 miles @ a nice clip, very impressive.

Sara - Glad to see you're out & about with the puppy :lovestruc . RU gettin' psyched for San Diego?

Theta - Beating up any moms @ a swim meet this weekend?

Jen - What's next for you?

Howart - How's the foot, Mr.?

Chester - How 'bout yourself? What big race is in your future?

OK, thanks for making me feel like a tool, everyone, for only getting out for 6 this a.m. Everyone else is like, hardcore :scared1:
