LOL @ Gillian bring your own washer and dryer. stillh2o we always bring our own beach towels as the ones DVC has are to small to be usefull for anything other than a facecloth as far as I am concerned.

Is the DVC worth the money? I do not know that must about DVC so any info will help.

I am a DVC Member and IMO DVC is absolutely worth it! If you go on the forum for the Vacation Club you will find all the information you're looking for. I'm sure if you do a search you'll even find a thread that asks "Is DVC Worth The Money". :flower:

As mentioned, check the DVC Forum since there is lots of info there. I would say that the "worth it" depends on where you like to stay and how often you can stay.

We absolutely enjoy being DVC Members and absolutely enjoy staying at FW. I think that even if we had a 45' Newell or Prevost we would still be more comfortable in a 1 Bedroom at OKW. It is huge.

We love being DVC members I am humouring my DW with the whole trailer and camping thing she used to go as a kid and wants to start taking our kids I hate camping to be honest I prefer hotels and such. But it will extend my normal 2 week Disney holiday to 3 weeks so I will give it a shot.

Can you take your satellite to your "DVC home?" ;)
The husband groans every time I mention waayy back in 86 when we could have bought into DVC for oh say... 6 grand? :rolleyes1 NOPE he wanted to stick with camping, and those were the popup days.... Oh how I would love to have DVC and camping too :goodvibes At least I know I can get hockey :lovestruc in our camper

I can't imagine why you couldn't take it with you I guess it would depend on what system you are on and what resort you are at. I will have to take mine with me next Dec and see how easy it would be to set up and let you know.

We alway go to WL or Beach Club to go swimming. The FW main pool is the same one they had sent the 70's

Ever have a problem? Did you just get off the boat at WL and head straight to the pool?

It is interesting about the pool hopping paper.
They'll also tell you that many of the pools do check resort id to make sure you are staying at that resort. I know at storm along bay at the beach club they almost always ask for id before letting you into the pool area.

This past spring we were at WL for a week and then at AKL the following month for a week. We went swimming at both resorts and were never asked for any kind of id.

The way I see it, the customers get to pick which resort they stay at, and in doing so pick the pool that they swim at. If we want a "better" pool area (or just different), then we should pick a different resort. :flower:

True......for resorts! If I could choose between WDW campgrounds based on their pools then maybe I would. I have no choice. I like my camper. I don't like other people's stray hairs, germs and bodily fluids in my room

We tried the hotels earlier this year. Twice. They were nice. We enjoyed ourselves and had a good time. We'll probably try another resort in the future. For this trip, though, we would like to stay in our camper and am not looking forward to the old, boring pool at FW. That's all :earboy2:

We have never had a problem, we never swim FW pool. Last trip swam WL,Poly,Contp. and Beach Club. Next week we will be at FW for a week and a 1/2 and we will swim at WL,Poly Beachclub and maybe more. We have never been ask for ID.

When we checked in we had to sign a paper that stated "We would not Pool Hop at any resort".

stillh2o just be forewarned storm along bay at teh beachclub is now requiring a room key to gain access to the pool and wristbands.

When did this start we were there last month had no problem getting a wristbands. I have signed that paper that stated "We would not Pool Hop at any resort or take are pet out of are loop. Well the dog go's all over FW with us and we Pool Hop o'well.

Apparently this month because not even DVC members can pool hop there anymore. They are asking for a room key for the resort now before giving out wristbands and allowing entrance to teh pool. Some friends of ours just returned from there using some of our points and told us this.

Wow, I am amazed by your lack of respect for the rules. Guess it's a good thing that most people do abide by the rules 'cause they are obviously created for a reason.

Maybe answer was just a joke because it would not be setting a very good example for young kids to see rules being broken. Rules are there for a reason.

Just a note that I have called and will continue to call to the office when I see infractions taking place. I believe it is up to us to keep an eye out for things going on at FW since it is our little getaway that many people never get to enjoy.

Well, aren't you special? I guess it would OK with you if my kids played in your campsite and fed your dog chocolate because, after all, I would have no problem...

Trlboy, Because we are nice people, and have a dog, we have kids on our site all the time. We have logged many nights at FW and have never had Fellow campers try to feed are dog chocolate. But It is sad that a dog walking from loop to loop with his owner, not making any noise, or someone Pool Hoping can ruin someone's vacation.
