Is this place worth the two dining credits? Have till end of May to decide. Is there a certiam menu for Dining Plan people? We will be on the regular dining plan, and plan on eating there just trying to get some reviews.

We did not think it was worth the cost when we went last August. Packed, loud, food was "eh", service was mediocre. We won't return.

Each to their own. We love it. Never do dining plan but use DVC for 10% discount. I love the wedge salad and the fish specials. The lobster roll is good. And there is decent wine list. The outside bar is great place to relax for late afternoon cocktail.

Mainly going for the Lobster, Or am i able to add lobster to a steak or would that part end up oop?

This place has been one of our favorites two years in a row. Last year we also got to sit in the boat in the front room of the restaurant which was really awesome.

I had lunch there in January. Food was fine, but didn't blow me away. Service was very good. Worth a trip at some point, but I can't speak to the "two dining credits" issue (I don't do the DDP).

There is no special menu for dining plan users. What you see on the menu is what you can order, even the caviar that was lightly "pushed" on us during the Christmas season, that we declined for other delectable offerings.

We've been there during the summer and winter and found the service, credible, although I'm still giggling over my order of a Campari and soda (it's red) that became an orange soda with a wedge of lemon to the waiter; too funny. He first told me that was what I ordered and then quickly backtracked with grace.

Otherwise the service was fine from my perspective and the chops and seafood treated and cooked with the proper care. Like many a chophouse the sides are a separate cost but easy to share.

So far we've tended to order raw bar menu items, shrimp cocktail, and fried calamari. The raw bar offerings were super fresh and served with traditional and innovative sauces. I loved the cucumber mignonette served with the oysters but the man not so much. We were both happy with the red sauce and horseradish. The wild caught shrimp cocktail, were not in the least rubbery tasting and didn't "stink" of preservatives.

The restaurant's kitchen knows the meaning of every grilled meat term (blue and black, rare, medium rare, etc) and is happy to put your order on the plate according to your wishes. Unhappy? Send it back as I noted another table do once w/ no issues. Salad greens were crispy w/o excess water. We went for simple desserts like a dish of ice cream or an ice cream float. Nice and classic.

.

We had the worst dining experience ever at any WDW restaurant out of hundreds of meals over more than 20 years, 2 or 3 trips a year. Poor service and food presentation was not up to par with the price or reputation for a location operated by a high end steakhouse chain (Gibsons). Server had no idea how to present the porterhouse for two so we could actually eat it with each of us getting some of the filet portion and some of the strip portion. At any other steakhouse where we’ve ordered this, including Gibson’s in Chicago, the meat is cut off the bone, carved into quarter-inch or so slices, rearranged on the serving plate with the bone, and presented at the table. At the Boathouse, I had to do all the carving myself.

We had a very good meal there last November. We weren't on any DDP . The entrees we ordered were not in the price point to use 2 TS credits.
I will say that compared to our only other Signature restaurant (YSH) the Boathouse service was rushed. More like a TS restaurant in a park. Looking back the pace of service at Boatwright's was better. At Boathouse we just finished the soup & salad we ordered when the entrees appeared. Boatwright's gave us a 5 minute or so break.

I had that problem for the first time at my most recent meal @ Brown Derby which was Christmas Day. I've a sneaky suspicion that management was encouraging the service faux pas in order to turn over tables at a faster pace and maybe make up for overbooking.
Thereafter, made a point when seated to tell all future waitstaff for the remainder of the trip that we prefer a new course wasn't served until the older one was cleared from the table. This request was honored and set the tone for further dinners but of course didn't change what happened on Christmas Day. I opted to not take my frustration out on the waiter and tipped him in full.

I've been fortunate at Boathouse and never suffered rushed service even with our 10:30 or 10:45 PM ADR on 12/30.

We've dined at Boathouse and enjoyed it. However I don't think its worth 2 credits, especially as compared to the really good 2TS places like Jiko, YSH, Artist Point, Citrico....

This has become a must do for us every trip. Been there at least 5+ times now. We love the raw oyster selections and have always been very pleased with our meals. Service was never rushed for us. I can't say whether it is worth 2 dining credits as we don't use the dining plan, but it is definitely worth a try.

This place seems to get mixed reviews. I went once for lunch and thought the food was just OK, and to me it was not worth the price.

We love Boathouse. However we don't do the dining plan because we would lose a ton of money on it and we like to be able to eat wherever and whatever we want without having to worry about whether some place we like is "worth" a certain number of credits. We typically sit at the bar and have a few drinks and share a few appetizers or a entree. We really like the outdoor bar.
