We'll be visiting Disney in the middle of August and decided to go a day early to just relax at the pool and spend some time at Disney Springs. We are deciding between The Boathouse and The Edison for dinner and wanted to get everyone's opinions on both. Since The Edison is new I haven't really heard much about it. Have two kids (4 and 6) if that makes a difference between the two restaurants.

The Edison was one we were thinking about doing also, until I looked at their kids menu. It consists of spaghetti and meatballs, chicken finger parmesan and nutella & jam. So I haven't been there yet, but just thought I'd let you know that part. That was a deal breaker for my kids, so we're going with the Boathouse. They have a large and diverse kids menu.

I've been to both and I'd say The Boathouse is more kid friendly. Save The Edison for a grown-ups only night - at 9p they have live music and at 10p a burlesque.

I went to both last week. The food at the Edison was fine but the Boathouse was amazing. I actually didn't want to even eat at the Boathouse because I don't like seafood but my husband does so I gave in and went. We both loved it a lot. I think we will return to the Edison sometime for a drink & app or maybe during the adults only time for drink. But I know we will be returning to the Boathouse for a big feast!

Definitely the Boathouse! My kids love this place. My picky eater was thrilled with the non-seafood options and my adventurous eater caught the attention of people around us when he ordered and devoured the ahi tuna dish.

We went to the Edison in February and while the food was good, I wasn’t wowed by the place and the service was so slow. We had eaten our appetizers before we got our drinks. We didn’t see many kids in there at all. Our kids were not with us on this trip.

I'm so happy to see this! I too was deciding between the two and picked Boathouse. We will be four adults but I liked the menu at Boathouse better and thought we might eat dinner outside. Did you dine inside or outside?? Then we will shop a bit and stop in somewhere for an after dinner drink... was thinking Jock Lindsey or Raglan Road.

It was kind of chilly and very windy the day we ate at the Boathouse, so we happily sat inside. However if the weather had been better I would have been fine outside with a nice view of the water. As for your after dinner drinks, either place would be fun.

Does the Boathouse have a bunch of restrictions if you are using the dining plan? For example, can I get the lobster appetizer?
