Thanks so much for posting this! I didn't know you could see Wishes:thumbsup2. Would you mind telling me what made your STD room "spectacular"? Was it a CL room? IYHO, is there a BAD Deluxe room at BWI?

I'm going to go back and look for your Deluxe room photos now...

Yes! It was standard CL (instead of deluxe CL.) I made just one request for a Boardwalk view, and this is what they assigned to us. Pete (outstanding CL CM) said it's a really popular room, so I know the chances of getting it again are slim, but I would just love to be back there!

I don't know enough about the deluxe rooms to say, but I've read that they all have boardwalk views. We have friends staying in a deluxe room in April, so I'm looking forward to their report! (Psac's photos look great!)

OK, if others don't mind, I'll repost for KOOK!

That stinks about the timing. Yes with DD's ball schedule with school, then travel volleyball, basketball, and softball, we have about 1 month we can squeeze in the family vacation. Her best friend that travels with us is in everything too. They are also doing a basketball camp at U of Iowa this summer. Hopefully we can still say hi.:wave2:

As far as the other, the cheering and things for the entertainers are as about as loud as it gets whenever we have been there. It is so relaxing if one of the evenings you just want to sit on your balcony with a drink and relax. Yes we are in a deluxe room again. Patiently waiting for August.......:rolleyes1

Your DD sure is one very busy girl! Does she attend U of I? She definitely needs a vacation:thumbsup2

If you're there for breakfast on the 10th, we can meet, otherwise you'll have to head all the waaaaay over to WL...

pixarmom-Thanks for making me homesick..........:sad1:

WDWKOOK-Actually she is in 8th grade. They just have a group of girls that have done the travel sports since they were 6. We are from a smaller area where the athletic kids play all the sports and don't concetrate on one thing. They have to do that to have enough for a team-lol!

NOBODY minded, right? Thank you for re-re-re-posting, Pixar!

You described the balcony, but those balcony photos really tell the story - amazing. I see what you mean now - it IS huge and it seems to wrap around a bit. Are the Deluxe room balconies all STD size and only this one STD CL room balcony is ginormous?

pixarmom-Thanks for making me homesick..........:sad1:

sfbank, makes me homesick, too! Let's see if I can stay strong and keep my POFQ / YC booking for April. I'm excited about both of them - and they are "bucket list" resorts for me. But we'll be back at BWI CL as the grand finale to our multi-split stay next year! Tell us about F&W plans!

KOOK - I have to stop talking about this room or I'll resort change! In fact, need to go over to check that thread right now! Not sure about the deluxe balconies, but would like to hear more from BWI deluxe experts - it will help us decide for next year, too.

You have a lot of Disney trips booked:thumbsup2. While you're checking that other thread, I'm going to check online for Deluxe room availability:tiptoe::rolleyes1

I'm back:rolleyes1

The Deluxe room is available for our stay and it would only be $75 more per night. Is there a BAD Deluxe room? Is there one that would be next to ESPN and therefore, be noisy? Sorry for so many Deluxe questions, but I can't find a BWI room number map, like DisneyZone has for YC/BC, for example.

Kook-It has been booked for about a month so it wasn't something that just happened, come on! I have had deluxe rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor. I think they are mostly in the middle and over toward Seashore and Flying Fish so I don't think there is a bad one. You will love the extra room. For $75 more a night-go for it! Don't you love the teenage years? Boys in the picture, mood swings, ah got to love it.;)

The teenage years? It's always an unpredictable adventure:furious::duck::hyper::crazy::hyper2:isn't it?!

I have another question for all of you:

Since there are only 5 Deluxe rooms on the 4th floor where we would like to stay, are those 5 rooms all behind the Innkeeper's door and how many of the 5 would NOT have a connecting door?

Is that a standard CL room? If so WOW! We are staying standard CL in 51 days. First time CL. Are all of the balconies that nice? I'd like to have some sort of request rather that shoot in the dark when I'm requesting a room assignment (as much as I can request it). Thanks.

Kook- I know there is one on the 4th floor not behind the door but has a little hallway in the room. We won't be there by breakfast on the 10th so we'll have to say hi in the park.
Pixarmom-you probably know from Nascargirl and I talking on here we have done girls trips for a few years. Well, due to cost of all the club sports travel, regular school sports ($150 shoes every season for every sport) and our family trip there will be no Paris for me in October. DH has never been to the F&W so we are doing a quick 4 day trip. Got one plane ticket free and we have aps so it is going to be pretty cheap. Then we can hang out with our buddies down there. :thumbsup2

Well to be more specifc that is room #4261. However that is one of their 3 Club Level rooms not located past the Innkeepers Club door in the secure hallway and I know WDWKOOK has told me she wants to be on the secure side and not on the regular part of the 4th floor.

There isn't anything bad I can say about the Deluxe Room itself. However the only negative is the price. Obviously it will be more expensive then a Standard Club Level Room, although for my families dates this coming August it was $1700 more and that's with the 35% Bounceback rate.

I know you can get the 40% Militarty discounts for the Deluxe Resorts, but I would imagine the cost would still be the same when you factor in the total price after the discount.

Like I said before when reserving the Deluxe Room you take a chance of not staying on the 4th floor because you can end up on the 3rd floor, where as that doesn't happen with their Standard Club Level Rooms.

Finally they are also hard to reserve since they have a total of 10 Deluxe Rooms.

Crfan. Sorry guess I should have been more specific. I was saying I know there is one that i know of because we stayed in it. I was not disputing there was more than one. As far as secure behind the door, considering there is a staircase over at the other end people can use to go from floor to floor I am not sure how secure the 4th floor is at all times. Nascargirl and I have witnessed people not staying club level helping themselves, especially when there are 2 or 3 people from a convention that invite everyone up.

Actually that's something I asked one of their Club Level Cast Members. Obviously the guests who would use the stairs from the 3rd floor to the 4th floor on the Club Level side of the hallway are those staying in the Deluxe Rooms on the 3rd floor. Now there is also a sign when you reach the door on the 4th floor saying access for Innkeeper's Club guests only. Although it's not open with a KTTW card so your right what's to stop anyone from going to the lounge that way if they don't stay Club Level? Well the Cast Member said they can tell who is staying Club Level and they can also ask what room those people are staying in.

Then ask those same ones what happened this last July when people from Principal Financial had one person staying and 8 people up in the lounge one evening. One guy was on his cell phone telling people they had a hospitality bar with food. Some of the cast members were not happy. Unfortunately they were told they could not cause problems that evening. The next day they sent a memo notifying the group it was not allowed again. There are always going to be people that try it unfortunately. I guess we have seen it both ways

HI! WOW! I can't believe people would be that gutsy to go in to a CL and just "help" themselves to food and drink that other people are paying for. That's very unfortunate.

Hi! Thanks for the pictures! NOw that's a STANDARD CL room at the BW? I love that balcony!!! Very cool!

Brunette

Brunette-Yes it is unfortunate some people ruin it for everyone else. DD and her friends even made comments about it. The people also made a mess and left it all for the CMs to clean up. That is what upset us the most. No respect whatsoever.:headache:
