Do you remember how much the cake cost? We have so many celebrations this and I'd like to include them all in one cake or possibly get 3 small cakes for each birthday and 1 welcome home. Thanks!

The cake was $96.00, but well worth ir. I will see if I can post a picture of it. It was a yellow cake with strawberry mouse filly with a whipped cream frosting. It was so big! It fed about 25 people.

lovesdumbo-we will have to try and meet in the lounge one morning. DH and I are early risers. We are taking my Mom to EPCOT friday as this will be her first trip without my Dad. :sad2: We usually go this time of year and have never found the lounge too busy except for the weekend.:scared1: It is a "small World" even more of a reason to finally meet.:thumbsup2 I will send you a 'pm" in the next few days.

Thanks so much. We would only need three small personal cakes or one to feed 5 people...maybe I'll call them..I think I saw their # on here somewhere. Thank you.

Now I know why I couldn't get a room at the BWI for my May dates!!! Too many of you are going. That and since I only booked a room last week. We are going to be at the Wilderness Lodge, but will go over to visit our "family" Jim got very jealous that I went with the girls in April, so I had to book something for him!!! I like the lodge, but will miss the conversation at the BW.

We are DVC members and staying in a Studio Standard View at the BWV for the first time. What room request do we need know about? Close to the Lobby, Close to an elevator, close to the pool, etc.... Anything that limits walking to Epcot, DS, or even just the Boardwalk. Me ,DW, and DD8 will be going
Would appreciate any suggestions!

We just returned from a standard view studio, and ours overlooked the quiet pool (well, through a bunch of trees anyway). It was convenient as there was a staircase right next to our room, that we could walk down to access the pool and walkway to DHS. That said, it was a bit of a trek back to the lobby, and in turn the Boardwalk. You may have read about the looonnnnggg halls at BWV, and that's just kinda par for the course.

I actually reviewed the stay here.

Does anyone know if it is possible to cut through from the Inn side through the DVC side to get to a stairwell that takes you out to the pool? Or, do you need to go outdoors from the lobby to reach the pool area?

I've been searching through this thread, and it looks like, when they re-did the rooms a few years ago they changed the Junior Daybeds to regular sized sleeper sofas? Is this accurate? We've stayed in the deluxe rooms and I know they have sleepers. Do the standard rooms have them now too? I know not ALL rooms have them and we will need one since we have 3 adults going (mom and 2 daughters.) What can we do? Merely add it in our requests?

Thanks :) :) :)

I thought all the standard rooms had a daybed that if it isn't twin size it is nearly twin size so most adults would be fine with that. I wouldn't think the standard rooms are big enough for the full (or queen) size sofa bed in the deluxe rooms.

That's what I was thinking, but I saw this post http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=40187929&postcount=1971 when searching this thread which made it sound like the standard rooms had sofa beds, not day beds, however, when using the reservations system on wdw.com it lists this room description:

All rooms have 2 queen-size beds or one king-size bed, table and chairs, ceiling fan, vanity area with 2 sinks and bath. Some rooms offer junior-size day bed and private balcony. All rooms are non-smoking. Wheelchair-accessible rooms are available. Amenities include in-room wall safe, voice mail, high-speed Internet access (additional fee), hairdryer, iron, ironing board, refrigerator and Pack 'n Play® playard. A full-size crib is available upon request. Standard Rooms are located in the Main Building and offer views of a garden, leisure pool or parking area.

So you're saying the Junior Day Bed should still be an ok size for an adult? We're all tall (I'm the shortest at 5'9"ish.) Thanks :goodvibes

We always went out the doors of the Inn on the side where Flying Fish is when going to the Luna Park pool area, which never took long at all.

I think the description of the room in that post is the exception not the rule. The standard rooms I've been in at BWI have had twin size daybeds and are not large enough to have both the desk and chair and an additional 2 chairs and table.

I think BWI rooms used to have a smaller "junior" day bed. Disney's website is often out of date. I think you'll probably be OK on the day bed.

We have walked through the lobby and taken the DVC side elevators down a level and then walked out to the pool.

How far is the walk from the parking lot to the lobby? We've only stayed at CR/ BLT before and the walk there is really short.

Also, we have 8.20 breakfast at DHS. Do you rec walking or taking the boat? Will the boats be running at 8am?

TIA!

The walk depends on where your room would be located, because some are close to the elevators and others are far away.

As for your other question I say it's faster walking to Hollywood Studios because the boats will stop at the Yacht Club/Beach Club and Swan/Dolphin before it arrives at Hollywood Studios. Plus a short cut is to walk through the Luna Park pool area, so that saves you a couple of minutes.

We have an 8am breakfast ADR and the park opens at 9am. I heard that the boats might not start running until 1 hour before park opening and I know there are no buses.

I don't want to walk to HS and wear DS out already... Is that true about the boats? Do they have any buses for early ADRs? Should I just take a taxi to HS (seems like a waste)? Thanks.

Yes the boats start running at least an hour or more before the parks open and they don't have buses to Hollywood Studios.

I'm thinking about a mid-January trip to WDW this year and am considering BWI. We've never stayed in the Epcot area before, so this will be new for us. The main reason I am thinking of going is I think my husband will enjoy the boardwalk area in the evenings. Will there still be a good atmosphere even in January when the crowds are low? TIA
