This is the only pic I could find. We haven't stayed at the BW yet, so I don't know the times and details. We just happened upon this guy after dinner at BRG one evening. We only stayed for about 10 minutes, but the kids thought he was hilarious!

That's the purple suit guy I previously posted about! He's awesome! SOOOOO FUNNY :)

Oh, and a word to the wise, DON'T try to cut behind him when he's performing, or you WILL be teased as part of the act ;) That's all I'm going to say...

Hmm. . . sounds intriguing. . . :rotfl:

After a bunch of hemming and hawing, I booked at the Boardwalk 9/26-10/1.:cool1: It's me, my husband and my DS, who will be just shy of 3. So excited!! I settled on Epcot area mostly because I was still able to get a standard view room with the 40% pin code, but I think the little one will like running around the boardwalk area a lot.

I'm about to book also for 9/17 to 9/21 for a short trip. Using the 40% off code as well. Considering staying concierge level but not sure it's worth it for only 4 nights. Anyone have any thoughts about that?

To mbcary- Disclaimer: I've never stayed at BWI and haven't stayed onsite since early 80's (CR, back when you could still swim in the lake). I'm thinking about staying CL for my 5 night stay this time. It's a lot of money, so you could never really eat enough to make it worth it BUT the convenience combined with the CL perks and just the feeling of being pampered may be worth it to some people.

We stayed club level at the BWI last summer using the 4/3 deal (which ended up being about a 45% discount.) With the code we had, or even with the one you have, I think it's definitely worth it!! I would have to think twice about paying full price, but with that much off.....go for it! Let me know if you have any more questions :thumbsup2

We stayed in a regular room at BWI last December for a week. We had a hefty discount for 5 of our 7 nights (last 2 nights were a black-out period.) We had all but 1 breakfast in our room and ate out of pocket for all other meals because that was the best option for what we wanted to eat. (Many appetizers, few desserts.) I've never stayed CL anywhere but admit that it might be nice to give it a try sometime. We made a nice purchase at the Wyland Gallery with the money we saved on the rest of the vacation. ;)

It's totally worth it IMO. Especially with that discount. We're using the bb discount for 3 nights in a deluxe room there in August. :cloud9: Four nights will be a really good taste of CL, and hopefully you enjoy it! :goodvibes

I'm thinking it's probably worth it for only $351 more for the entire stay. I've only stayed Club level once at Swan (which they don't even have anymore) and it was so nice. I've been going at least once a year for a while, but it will be my mom's first trip since around 1986 so I want it to be special for her.

Thanks for all your comments.
Is it just me or did I see another BWI thread floating around? Do we have 2 going now?

It's not just you. There is a thread titled "We nixed Boardwalk Inn." It is about that clown slide at the BWI pool. Turns out that a lot of people suffer from a clown phobia. I would have to say that awful looking clown is my least favorite thing about the BWI, but since we traveled as a mature couple in December and did not even approach the pool it was of no concern to me.

I agree that CL is very worth it. My folks and I have done BWI CL for the past several stays at WDW and some of our favorite perks are as follows:

1) Private check in area on the 3rd (I think) floor which a CM escorts you to on arrival.

2) Inn Keepers Club offers a nice selection of food (using the Boardwalk restaurants) during all mealtimes, and in between there is always soda, coffee juice, chips, fruit available.

3) Turn down service each night, which is perk I didn't think I would care too much about but found it surprisingly enjoyable.

4) A dedicated group of CMs just for CL that seem to, in my opinion, have a been chance of getting you into some 'hard to get' and last minute ressies during your stay. Not to mention can help you with anything that might have to do with your vacation.

5) Big bottles of water and to-go throw away cups of whatever beverage you might want that you can take with you on your way out, all of which are FREE.

Have fun! 4 days of CL should be great!

Carey-
Thank you so much for the list of great advantages of staying CL. I think I'm going to book it and wait until we get there to tell my mom.

Just yesterday my family and I decided to extend our vacation at WDW this August to also include a stay at the Boardwalk in a Deluxe Club Level room, because we saw that there is a room only promotion on the WDW website and we got 40% off. Anyway when we were last at the Boardwalk to visit in December 2009 I noticed that their main store that sells clothes didn't have any Boardwalk merchandice. Now someone mentioned they moved those items to a store in the lobby so I guess we didn't see it. Anyway I was wondering is that store still open in the lobby with the Boardwalk merchandice, or is it once again being sold in their main store?

There is a small store off the lobby that sells Boardwalk merch--shirts, keychains, magnets.

Careful, CR Fan--I have been a HUGE Poly fan since 1973....BUT the EPCOT area now has me hooked, particularly the BWI. Contemporary might have a rival after you stay at Boardwalk!

Thanks for your reply and the Contemporary will always be my favorite resort no matter what, but I am excited to be staying at the Boardwalk and I have always thought it has a great theme and atmosphere during the times I went to visit there. Plus I am happy we are doing a split stay because if we were just staying there I would end up missing the Contemporary and the Monorail service, so we get the best of both worlds.

Know exactly what you mean--one of my favorite trips was a split stay between BWI and Poly, definitely the best of both worlds.

Just a heads up about the store... we asked at the front desk where we could go to get a BWI t-shirt and they sent us down to the Screen Door, so down we went. We looked and looked and saw nothing, so we asked and they sent us back up to the lobby. We asked at the lobby again and they said they didn't know :confused3 By that point we were so annoyed, we're trying to give you our money, where's the stinking store!! :rotfl:

We finally found it, very small, on the Villas side of the lobby. if you're facing the check in desk, it's to your left. every clothing article they had said Boardwalk Villas and it was only 1 t-shirt, 1 quarter zip fleece, and 1 windbreaker. I believe the only thing that said Boardwalk Inn (without the villas on it) was a magnet for the fridge. We were really bummed as we had budgeted a LOT for fun BWI shirts, blankets, etc... since we were so excited to stay there!

Well hopefully by this August their merchandice will have got better, although I have read rumours of all the resorts getting rid of their resort logo items. So maybe that's the reason for the size and number of Boardwalk items.

That's terrible! I wonder why they would do that? That's half the fun of staying at different resorts each time...to get some swag :thumbsup2
