Actually, Luna Park reopened early. Right now, there is work going on on the front of the building by Spoodles. The balcony on the lounge is currently closed, as are some of the rooms affected by the work.

Someone (Kerry, maybe?) mentioned that the lounge itself would be getting some work done during the summer, but I don't remember the details.

The lounge at the BWI will be closed for 3-4 wks starting July 6th. The staff will be reassigned during that period. Once the lounge is finished, they will start on the rooms.

Golfing Goofy: We always try a new place to eat but that is getting much harder as time goes on. It does help having my sister and best friend living down there as well. Daytona Beach is a very nice place to visit. It doesn't take that long to drive down there if you are renting a car.:thumbsup2

DarlingDumbo: Have fun in August and please let us know all about your trip. :)

jjohnson: My DB and SIL love :lovestruc :lovestruc Disney. It is so fun to be with them. They are older and get tired and need to rest more than us. I think that is why they want to be near MK. I am going to research some of the resorts for them and we will see if they really decide to stay near MK. They never want to rent a car. It will be interesting.

nascargirl: About how far is Daytona from WDW? Is there a museum or anything about nascar stuff?

:scared: We are getting 1-2 more inches of snow tonight. The kids are so excited :yay: They had 4 snow days last week and it has been 4 or more years since we had snow days. I need them in school so I can get my work done and I quit planning vacations :upsidedow

Golfing Goofy-Daytona Beach is about a 90 minute drive. You probably could make it less if you stay directly on I-4. We try to avoid that highway as much as possible so we take 417 which is a toll road but a lot safer. At the track you have the Daytona Experience (used to be Daytona USA). They have a gift shop, I max theater, museum, you can take a tram ride tour of the track. You could easily spend 1/2 day there and still have time to do a park. I have to ask, where in the Northwest do you live. Here in the northeast (mid-Atlantic area), we have been getting mostly sleet/freezing rain. We haver been lucky so far by not getting too much snow. (Hope I didn't jinx it):woohoo: If you have anyother questions, feel free to ask. If I cannot help you, most likely someone on these boards will.

I think we need to rework our schedule because a tram ride around the track would be great for the boys!

We live in Washington State. We live in an area that gets a little snow in the winter, and it normally melts in a couple of days. Well, we have had so much snow in the last week and it is so cold that nothing is melting. I have this love/hate relationship with the guys that snowplow our neighborhood. I love it that our streets get plowed (some folks have had to wait for days to get plowed), but I hate the 3-4 foot burm they leave at the end of my driveway each time. I am just tired of shoveling the silly stuff. And, I hate to drive over it, because then it turns into a big huge ice burm.

Oh well, it could be worse....There is an end to this sometime next week, it is really pretty with all the snow and I had fun staying home with the kids and planning a trip to WDW

Freezing rain is just so scary to drive in! :scared: That makes me so nervous. I hope the snow avoids your area. If only it would just snow on the yards and stay off the streets and walkways....

can anyone tell me about the consierge lounge offerings?

The lounge offers a continental breakfast which includes: cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruit, pastries, bagels, milk, juices, coffee. They serve this from 7 am-10 am, snack time starts from 11-4, this includes cookies, ice tea, lemonade, soda, pretzels, from 5-7 they serve appetizers which include a 2 hot appetziers, vegtables, cheese, crackers, wine, beer, soda, then from 8-10 is the best part, the dessert. They have chocolate covered strawberriers, fruit tarts, cookies, they also serve cordials (rum/grand mariner, vodka, baileys irish cream), if you prefer wine all you need to do is. Hope this helps:thumbsup2

I'm butting in here...do you live near the Tri Cities? I do.

Hensandchickens: sent you a pm.

Does the BWI have more than one hot tub? Is it an adult-only hot tub? I was talking to someone that said that they do not allow kids in the hot tub at the BWI. :confused3 Doesn't sound like Disney, to me.

There's one at the quiet pool, and another at the main pool. I have always seen kids in both.

My personal policy is: DS can get in for a few minutes, but only if there are no adults in there. He's not noisy or obnoxious, but I think adults should be able to relax without being forced to listen to kids 24/7.

Thanks pixiechick. I totally agree with you. Since I like to spend most of my vacation pool time in the hot tub ;) I just ask them to come by every few minutes to let me know what is up with them. Then, they are off to the big pools.

Hopefully the hot tub is in a position where I can still see them in the big pool. I still feel that I need to keep an eye out for them, just in case. It is so nice when they get old enough to do all of that stuff themselves. It felt like I would never be able to let them swim on their own.

I thought everyone was lying when they told me that kids grow up, eventually. Well, I guess they really do grow up-kinda.... :lmao: (Do boys ever really grow up?)

The quiet pool hot tub is right next to the pool. The Luna park one is just off to the side, but depending on where they are in the pool, you may, or may not be able to see them. They won't be far though.

It is amazing how time flies by, isn't it? And I think you know the answer to your last question! ;)

Thanks!

I can't believe how fast they grow! I just hope my oldest (he will be 12 1/2 when we go) will allow himself have a good time at WDW. He seems to be excited to go, but I can tell that he is starting to think somethings are just too kiddy. As much as I would love to spend all of our time at the MK, I think he will really want to hang out at DHS & Epcot. I think BWI will work out good for us. :)
