I was really surprised at how nice it was to be on the 3rd floor. It was a very nice room with a big balcony. The rooms on the 4th floor are also very nice, I have always had a room here until this year. We do have a great time going. This year we tried the spa at the Floridian and it was wonderful. We will go back again next year. We usually do the afternoon tea too. We try to go to a couple new places to eat each year. when I go with my husband it is the same places all the time!!!! California Grill is our new favorite. there really is so much to do with friends. i really enjoy my girls only trips. The creme brulee party was not expensive at all and it was sooooo good!!! Pm me if you have any questions. The cast there have become my second family and they are all wonderful to deal with.

Have a magical trip and don't forget to check in when you're back home.

well we are going back in decemeber and will be staying concierge. I love the BWI staff and they really are a cut above the rest.
Great review of the 3rd floor room Kerry. I will have to look into that.

Hi,

I have a question I was hoping someone here could help answer. Are there any activities (other than the entertainment on the Boardwalk) at the resort? We stayed at AKL in September & they had several activities for kids from arts & crafts to games and I've heard of other resorts having similar things--just wondered if we would have the opportunity to do these types of things at BW in Jan.

Thanks!

We did not see any other types of activities - except swimming - they have a great pool.

This was our first time using Magical Express and it was great and everything went smoothly. It took us about 1 ½ hour from the time we landed until we arrived at the resort. Upon our arrival, we were taken to the concierge lounge where we discovered that we were upgraded from deluxe concierge to the VP Suite at the BWI. The room is bigger than our entire house. It was spacious and the balcony view of the Boardwalk was great. We were almost just above the ESPN – rightly directly above the arcade. This room was definitely a once in a life time experience that we shall never forget!
Everyone is correct about dining plan not being really useful on the boardwalk. Most of the places you had to use cash or some type of a major credit card; even your KTTK card was not acceptable. I was told that you could go to the other resorts to find food on the dining plan, but did not feel like it.
The concierge staff was great and very friendly. They really try to help you with your every request. They even have been giving us bottled water to take back to our room. We both drink lots of water because we are not big soda drinkers.
We spent the afternoon touring WS in EPCOT. We stopped and saw some of the shows and presentations. The candy lady at Japan was amazing and very fast at her creations. I would definitely recommend people to see this presentation. The tour at Morocco is not available any more.
We ate at the Rose and Crown – the Roast beef sandwich was great – we shared the meal. Allears has that lunch has cottage pie, but they had the shepherd’s pie instead. I don’t know if that is a permanent change or what.
The crowds have been very manageable so far. On WS you can see lots of preparation for the Food and Wine Festival.
We went back to our room and our luggage was already in the room awaiting our arrival. We looked around the BWI and the Boardwalk. For dinner, we decided to try the pizza on the boardwalk and it was great, but a little too greasy for us.
We got back to the hotel to our wonderful turn-down service and settled for a nice night of rest and relaxation.

Spoodles for breakfast – Bacon and Egg panni – it was so so, not my favorite.
Undiscovered FW tour – Jordan was the guide and did a great job. This tour had a lot more back stage viewing than the Keys tour in MK. The tour allowed you to have 20% discount at the China pavilion for lunch – we did not partake of this special. The tour also allows you to have a special VIP viewing area for Illuminations, but we did not partake of this special either. The tour was great, but the heat can really get to you; especially in the back stage areas.
Electric umbrella for lunch – had the chicken strips and French fries for our meal. My wife had the chocolate cookie and I had the strawberry cheesecake. The meal was very good and it was also nice to sit down after our long tour
After our long tour, we went back to hotel to enjoy Lunar Park pool to relax. The water coaster was great. My advice is to get wet first it makes you slide faster. I went on it the first time dry and it was good, but went down my second time and I thought I was flying down at great speed. The view at the top is great – you can see ToT at MGM from there.
For dinner we went to Beaches and Cream – my wife had hot dog w/ grilled onions and it was so so. I had the chili cheese hot dog and it was so so. We both had fries and they were good. However, the best part of the meal was the No Way Jose Sunday. It was so big we decided to share it and we were we so glad we did that. It was the best part of the meal.
We went back to EPCOT FW to finish the rides we did not get done today. The Clammobile and the Crush talk were great. It is amazing how they do Turtle talk.
The walk to and from EPCOT is great and peaceful.
We got back to the hotel to our wonderful turn-down service and settled for a nice night of rest and relaxation.
Overall, our stay at BWI was great (and not just because of the room). I would attempt to stay here in the future. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.

Wow! Sounds like you had a great time. And what a nice upgrade! Thanks for posting your review here.

That was a wonderful upgrade, we got to look at the suite last time we were there, but not stay. Glad your trip went well.

Appreciate the thread...this is on our list of Deluxe Resorts to consider for our trip next October.

HELP!!!!
We are looking to stay at the BWI to celebrate my 40th bday and I want to know what the best type of room we should try to get, what view to ask for where is the lounge? Also if there are any CL rooms with a roll in shower? There will be 8 of us going looking to stay in 3 rooms so any advice will be appreciated. Thanks!!!!!!!

I would have to say a Boardwalk view is the best for us. I don't know if any of the CL rooms have a rool in shower, but if you contact conceirege (information at the front of this thread) -- they will be able to help you. The lounge is on the fourth floor -- same area as the CL rooms.

I wish you the best as you plan.

Is there a resort map that might show the room locations, and resort layout?

Has anyone heard about the exterior refurbishment going on? I read on a trip report that scaffolding was set up along the BW area so I emailed IPO to ask about it. I got an email back saying the work should be completed sometime in December. Any recent updates?

sewer: There is a general layout of the hotel here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/boardwalk.htm. Hope that helps.

I will back at the BWI in Jan I cant wait! I love the concierge staff and cant wait to see them all again.
