Ok..I tried. I got up to page 15 last night. When I reserved the BW deluxe concierge room yesterday CRO gave me a choice of 3 views BW,pool or garden. But in this thread KerryCM posted that all the deluxe rooms are BW view. Can you see any of Illuminations from the rooms? I'm guessing yes because we could see them from the front of the Bakery last year. Also my DH smokes on the balcony only & I have requested a smoking room. Any idea which of the 10 rooms are smoking? I really prefer to be on the concierge floor. We stayed at BC last year w/concierge access to the 5th but barely visited the lounge as we were on the 2nd fl by the quiet pool & it required 2 elevators to get there. TIA

Joyce

The rooms are all BW view. We need non-smoking and 2 of those rooms are on the 4th floor for sure because I have stayed in them. DS has special needs and the smoke could really do him harm. The BWI is not as spread out as the BC (stayed in concierge there over the summer), you should be OK on a different floor. Also, you can view Illuminations from the lounge balcony they open up the doors and you can go outside to see them.

I saw in another post you are staying at the WL in a deluxe room as well we toured one and they are really nice much more spacious than the BW....looking forward to a report when you get back :)

Thank you for the information. I guess it doesn't matter so much to be on the 4th fl. I was surprised to read your remark on the WL. I was afraid we would notice a difference in room size because it has less square footage. I just said to DH last night it may feel bigger because it's seperated with the french door.

It seemed to me that way because you have the living area as one room the bedroom as one room and the bathroom is a little bigger. This was on the main floor in what I think would be the north? wing all the way at the end. My DS with special needs loves the BWI (they are sooo nice to him that we like to go back) but I would really like to try WL.

While I was going over an incorrect amount for my deposit with CRO the CM informed me that all Deluxe Concierge rooms are non-smoking so my request for a smoking room is not an option(DH would smoke on the balcony) I've tried calling the IPO to confirm this but they haven't returned my calls. Anyone know?

I think that information is correct...when were there for our wedding/honeymoon we requested a smoking room and we were also booked for a Deluxe Concierge room. I was also told none of those rooms were smoking, so I figured I'd smoke outside (no biggie). The lady at the concierge desk told me I could smoke on the balcony as long as I kept the doors to the balcony closed, and there were ashtrays out there later that evening (I didn't ask for those, I still wasn't sure about smoking out there).

Anyway, I found out later that the folks on either side of me were smoking on their balconies and they were both Concierge Deluxe rooms...so I did too. (no flames, please, Disney told me this was okay, so I believed them).

My DH is very considerate of non-smokers. If someone were on the balcony next to us not smoking I know he wouldn't either. I really wish the BW IPO would return my call & email.

Update:

I just spoke with Dean at IPO who confirmed with Linda at BWI that smoking is allowed on the balcony if the door is closed. I can't begin to tell you how happy I am to hear this.

Here is the link to the on-line version of the WDW Vacation Planning Video: click here. Once you’re on that webpage, click on the RESORTS button. The webpage will rearrange itself and some new buttons regarding the Resorts will appear. Put your mouse over the Disney Deluxe Resorts Overview entry and select “Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.” A video window will open and the BoardWalk Inn video will begin to play.

It’s a nice way to experience a little bit of Disney magic without leaving the comfort of your home. ;)

maybe its time to start workin on my Boardwalk Inn site...hmmmmm

I originally subscribed to this thread because we were planning to stay at BWI for Christmas and I was worried about several things: Was it Christmassy enough, where would I go in the morning to get milk and such for breakfast, would it be appropriate for my DD.

Well, lets starts with the rooms. They were very nice and the beds were great but I wasn't overwhelmed by the themeing. Not on a par with AKL, WL, Poly or the new CR rooms. Just very nice. Our room location was horrible (first floor with our patio sitting on the entrance where the ME busses sit) but that's what you get when you book AP rates I guess. The hotel itself was not decorated as I had hoped but it was passable.

The CM however were outstanding -- they went out of their way to help my husband who had to go a day earlier than I did due to family emergencies. He's not the most self-sufficient individual when it comes to this kind of thing and always leaves it to me (I probably would have requested a different room). Anyway, they got him checked in, explained how I could get my key the next day when I got there, told him when and where Santa would be there for my daughter, helped him find my dining reservations (he left the paper with the conf #'s at home, along with the camera and disner points card). They even played with DD while he talked to the Bell Services about getting the luggage to the romm and finding out if the santa present box that I had shipped had arrived. They were really great and made his stress level decrease 1000 fold. When I got there the next day I went to the desk and gave them my name and without even explaining the situation the CM said they had been expecting me and handed me my key along with instructions to the room. I had two suitcases (the santa presents which my husband thought I had shipped were in one) and bell services were very quick to help me store the present one and get the other to my room. I mentioned that I was going to try to surprise my DD at MK as she didn't know I was coming and they called to find out when the next bus to MK would be arriving so I could be on it -- I missed that one due to a potty stop but I was soo impressed that they would do that.

The food. The Belle Vue room had everything I needed for breakfast so that was never the issue I thought it would be. As for the restaurants on the Boardwalk, I had the best meal of my life at Flying Fish. My husband agreed. The food was fantastic.

FInally, location. We went to the CP at Epcot on Christmas day and then stayed for Illuminations. It took us less time to walk to our room than it usually takes us to walk to the front of the park and to the busses. That in and of itself made the hotel worth every penny we spent.

where is the belle vue located in the resort? i'm glad the hear that we can get breakfast there!

No need to bump this thread. It is in a sticky at the top of the resorts board along with the other resort threads.

The belle vue room is located to the right of the lobby if you are standing at the entrance doors and looking toward the Boardwalk. Keep in mind that they don't have hot food items but they do have cereal, doughnuts, muffins, rolls, milk, juice and coffee.

Is the 4th floor concierge only access & do we check in at the front desk or go up to concierge? TIA

Tell the valet/bell person that you are staying concierge and they will take you up to the 4th floor for check in. The 4th floor is not concierge only access.

I don't know if this will help since I can not remember the room number ,but when I stayed at the BWI a few years ago I had a room right over the walkway to the busses , well the covered part blocked alot of the street , resort drop off/pick up area ,view which was nice you see the walkway and further out so it wasnt bad and it wasn't to loud .

:)

I have read in some guide books about a small separate building that requires room keys to enter. Has anyone stayed in this building and how are the rooms? It seems that this location wouldn't be as nice as in the main building. Can you request not to have these rooms?

The only area I can think of that is "separate" and would require a room key to enter is the concierge area (and only a portion of it requires a room key to enter). But it's not in a separate building...

Perhaps someone else knows more...
