The Boardwalk Inn Information Thread

I haven't stayed at the villas, so I can't help with views. You might want to try the DVC board for more info on that. The villa side of the resort looks like the Inn side, the outside is more colorful though.
Here is a pic I found of the villa side. These rooms have a boardwalk view.

I'm going blind trying to read all of this ...but I was wondering about the Villas. Any suggestions on rooms, locations, anything??? I have a studio. And, this sounds silly, but are the villas the same layout as the rest of the resort? Or are they seperate little "villas"? I don't know what to expect and I can't find the info...Can anybody help?

I can't help with room numbers, but I have stayed on the villa side in both a one-bedroom and a studio. They aren't seperate, in fact as you walk down the hals, it looks just like "regular" hotel rooms (from the outside also). The studio has one queen bed, a sleep sofa and a kitchenette (microwave, small friig). We have had a boardwalk view and a pool view and liked both. Try this site for more info and pictures.

Hi,
We stayed in the BWV in February 05. We also had a studio and a one bedroom. My parents were in the one bedroom side and we ( the hubby and kids) we on the studio side. The studio was very cramped for a family of four. We would have gone crazy if we did not have the one bedroom side. I do not know what they charge for a studio during the low season, but we paid $560 a night for the combo. Oh and btw the crowds were huge!!!! It was early Feb. and according to my research it was supposed to be the lowest attended time. WRONG!!!!!!!!!! But we still had an awesome trip!
I highly recommend Cinderella's royal table. Sorry for the rambling.
Cheers,
Kelly

Thanks so much for the info!

:Pinkbounc We cant wait to go. 1st Mommy & daughter trip EVER! :Pinkbounc

I got a Pal Mickey in the mail today - for $13.99...and he was busted! Total bummer. They are going to send one to the resort.

I guess we can just rewire this one here and see what happens.

Frankenmickie!

I'm thinking about BWI concierge for our summer trip. I've heard good things. I'm just subscribing to this thread for any updates. Thanks!

We just got back from the BWI Concierge (9/19 thru 9/23)...OMG!!! IT WAS AWESOME!!

in the pic above (of the bakery) we were in the middle room right above the bakery...what an awesome view! I spent a lot of time on that balcony just watching all the stuff going on on the boardwalk!

I am already wondering how (and when) we are going back!!! The Boardwalk is amazing!! (of course, this was our first trip to Disney so we haven't been anywhere else there! :))

So glad you had such a wonderful time! We were in that same room last Oct. In 2 years it is my 35th anniversary and I want to renew my vows at the BW. I love the cast there and the whole experience!

We were married at Sea Breeze Point...just outside the Boardwalk...it was WONDERFUL! The folks at Fairy Tale Weddings are really great and I would highly recommend them for your vow renewal!! I can't wait to get my pics back!

Loved room 3227!!! :goodvibes

Hiwaygal, I'm so glad everything worked out for you. I know you were a bit concerned when you had to be moved from the Poly, but I had no doubt that the folks at BWI would take good care of you.

Thanks Tammi!

You were so right!!!

We were a bit disappointed at first...but we got more and more excited about it as our dates got closer...now, I can't imagine staying anywhere else. We said we would be willing to try Yacht Club or Beach Club or even the Swan/Dolphin but being in the Boardwalk area was really great!!!

I'm with HiwayGal on this one-we were on conciege also and just loved BWI. I'm posting this here as there was question about concierge checkin at BWI. We got a letter telling us to tell a valet or bellhop that we were concierge-we did and he took us right up to the 4th floor where Kevin checked us in-took about 10 minutes-so cool. :cool1:

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know you could do that.

Hi, I just wanted to bump this thread up again. I just made our final plans to stay at the BWI over Thankgiving!! :goodvibes I am so excited!!!

We have stayed at almost all the other deluxe resorts and never BWI - so this is going to be a new experience for us. I have a concierge deluxe room booked for my family. I have read thru this thread and seems that the concierge deluxe rooms all have he Boardwalk view which thrills me. If I won't be looking at the castle, that Boardwalk view will be wonderful!

Any recent BWI concierge stays??? Any news to report??? How are the food offerings??? Do they serve Krispy Kremes??? My kids LOVE those and we do not have them here. :earboy2:

THANKS for any info!!

We were there Sept. 19-23....we had room 3227 (concierge delux) you will have to tell us what room you were in! Our room was right above the Boardalk Bakery!!

The view overlooking the boardwalk is FAB!! You're gonna LOVE IT!!! We had so much fun people watching from our balcony!!

The food offerings are pretty good! But, sorry, no Krispy Kreme.

For breakfast there is cereal and muffins/danish, fruits and juices, water, etc. And they have a GREAT coffee/cappucino/hot chocolate machine!! MMmmmm!!!

For lunch/snacks it was snack bags of pretzels and goldfish, some mixed nuts, cookies, and drinks. Not sure if they ever put out the little pbj sandwiches or anything like that.

For the hot hors d'oerves (sp?), well, it changes every night! They bring stuff up from the different restaurants. We only went there once during our stay for the appetizers, but they were GOOD!!! From Spoodles, little chicken kabobs and hummus and pita and cheeses and wine and sodas...very good!

The cordials and desserts are wonderful too!! Lots of little desserts from the Bakery (I think) and kahlua, grand marnier, and a few other cordials and sodas, etc.

Oh, man...I wish I was there!!!

Noone else seems to have an issue with this but -- I like to be able to run down to the counter service restaurant in the morning to get extras for breakfast, or a quick snack in the afternoon. I know that the bakery is right there on the Boardwalk but it doesn't seem to me as convenient. Also, I was concerned about not having the souvenir store in the hotel but someone else told me that the Character store is also on the Boardwalk. My final concern is that the "holiday" stuff won't be what I'm expecting -- do they have carolers on the boardwalk or other entertainers on Christmas Eve? are the decorations really great? I know I'm obsessing but I really wanted to stay at GF and I was outnumbered by DH and DD. If my parents come down for Christmas it is really important that this is perfect since it is most likely my fathers last and I just so want it to be magical. Oh well. Like I said I'm obsessing about the whole thing. I'm also rambling so I'll stop now. LOL

The store (sort of a combination general store/character store) is right on the Boardwalk on the villas side of the resort. For quick things in the morning, the Bellevue Lounge on the Inn side sells breakfast items (I think all along the "continental" breakfast type). I have been at the BW twice for Christmas (though on the villas side) and the decorations were quite nice (though certainly not with the "wow" factor of the Wilderness Lodge). I have seen carolers and also bell ringers, though I believe the entertainment is always subject to change and varies from year to year. And the location just can't be beat! I hope you love it.

I forgot to mention that there is also a small store in the lobby - souveniers, newspapers, BW logo merchandise, etc.

MinnieSummer -I am doing concierge because I know what you mean about bfast - quick and easy. I have 3 kids and they all seem to move at their own speeds in the morn. We can just go in shifts to the lounge and grab a bite. Maybe you could order room service for bfasts?? There are many cute little shops on the BW. I have seen pics of the Xmas decorations on different websites. They look gorgeous in the lobby of BWI. You will be able to go and check out the BC/YC and S/D, too, easily. Epcot is wonderfully decorated and so festive and you will be right there! I know what you mean about wanting things to be perfect, but don't obsess. You won't enjoy it if you do. Just make the plans you need to (ADRs and such) and then just let things happen - sometimes that brings the most fun and special memories your way. I know the GF is beautiful at Xmas. We were there last Thanksgiving and it was so lovely. I will post back right away regarding how the BWI works out for us. Good luck & I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday wherever you end up!

Hiwaygal- THANKS! Your recent posts have me pumped!! Congratulations on your recent wedding. I haven't told my kids where we are staying yet. We always enjoy renting the surrey bikes and hanging out at the BW. Renting those surrey bikes is actually one of their favorite things to do at WDW, believe it or not. (personally I dread them - as only 3 of us are tall enough to do the work!) THANKS again for the information!!
