The blue Mickey carpet bag...can it be checked luggage?

I'm worried about the handles. How about if I strapped them together to make them sturdier?

On the way back we need to make room for souvies. I was thinking about packing them in my smaller carryon and in my sturdier luggage. Then I would put my clothes in the mickey bag.

I'm worried that people will complain if I bring that big bag packed full on to the plane.

Do you have a nylon duffle bag? We sometimes fold one up & put it in our luggage. Then it can be used on the way home for laundry or whatever. They're light and not fragile.

Other passengers might not complain, but you may not be allowed to take the bag with you. They might make you gate check it. That's not so bad. They put a ticket on it & take it away. You get it back right when you get off the plane, not at the baggage claim area. I think it would be with the strollers.

I checked something similar in April last year (boxes of cereal & poptarts) . Even with the same kind of handles. As long as it is within requirements and (no locks) and not overly heavy they'll put it under.

I haven't had any problems yet.

i have the same bag (LOVE it! )
i've used it as a carry-on (on rtn flight, with some delicate souvies, camera, meds & a bag of mickey pretzels (YUM) ~ definately not "overstuffed" & it fit under the seat easily).
prev trips, i've checked it, just looping a pull-tie thru the 2 zipper pulls, & it came out unscathed.

I have the Mickey tote bag from Avon that is just a fairly thin cloth tote with no lining. I checked it last week coming home from New York and had no problem at all. My suitcase was 4 pounds overweight (the airlines are really a stickler about that max weight these days). So I whipped out the tote and put clothes in it until my suitcase weight was under 50 pounds. That sure beat paying excess baggage fees.
