I know this will get moved, but I had to share because only you all will truly know how excited I am...... I SAW THE BLACK PEARL TODAY!!! Yahhhhh!!!! It is docked near our house for filming, it was sooooo cool and bigger than I imagined. It really looks like a pirate ship. I'll post some pics as soon as I get them up. All I could keep doing was sing yo ho yo ho a pirates life for me........

That is so cool! I was lucky enough to see the Black Pearl down in Mexico about a year and half go. It was docked there for repairs. Yes, post some photos when you get a chance!

I'm happy for you but bummed for us. We were at Blowhole the day BEFORE filming. Dh's family is mostly in Kaneohe but we live in CA. It'd been nice to see the Black Pearl.

We are lucky enough to have the Interceptor, actually Lady Washington, up here in Washington. My daughter had a field trip on it this year. Some friends of mine attended a pirate themed wedding on it last weekend. Pretty cool!

Sorry I haven't posted the pics yet. We are gonna go back again today and then I'll try to figure it out to post I've never done so and my computer is broken so I have to figure out how to hook up DH's lappy with my camera. We are so so so hoping to see Mr. Johnny!!! but I doubt it.

ussschmidt: don't feel bad about being at the blowhole one day early. I heard they closed it all off, even the shooting range and there really isn't any place to pull over on that road so you probably wouldn't have been able to see it anyways that day.

corgi_monster: it's at Heeia boat harbor in Kaneohe, about 10 minutes from Kailua. From what it looks like they will be there awhile, there is a huge barge in the water with what I would guess will hold the cameras, and their base camp is really big, alot of trucks and trailers. I've seen alot of movie sets base camps here and stuff and never one this big. Word has definetly gotten out as it was packed yesterday and everyone was stopping to look. I'm trying to get my dad to take his boat out so we can get closer Alot of people had kayaks in the water that were pretty close.

Awesome!!! We got to see it by chance a few years ago. We were having a work dinner in Redondo Beach (So. California) and were wondering about the crowds of people along the railing at the pier. After a short while, here comes the Black Pearl. Very awesome!!! I just wish I had known and I would have had my camera with me.

Thanks! My BF and I drove out there last night to take a look. They were filming, but we weren't able to see much because of the way the lights were positioned. Backlighting + smoke machine = bad viewing. I spoke with a woman who lives down the street from Heeia and she said that they've only been filming at night.

Also, there is supposedly another ship docked somewhere near Ko Olina - gonna try to check that out this weekend!
